Operation Name: Operation Sumava Freedom - Airfield Foot Assault
Element Callsign: HITMAN-6
Element Leader: Lieutenant Colonel Dread.M

Pros:

  • Platoons kept good control and communication
  • Server performed well with a 100 players
  • Platoons maintained flexibility

Cons:

  • Initial order was not mutual supportive. It was awkward and not tactically sound, but the Platoons did a great job overcoming.

Operation Name: Operation Sumava Freedom - Airfield Foot Assault
Element Callsign: LIGHTNING FLIGHT
Element Leader: Captain Highman.J, Lightning-1

CWO2 Swann - Lightning-2

Pros:
Tons of people!
Good use of multiple attack plans at same time for best effect
Sparrow continues to be clever in his designs
Always fun to LAPES drop cargo, when the script doesn't explode the aircraft
Managed to destroy quite a few targets both on the ground and in the air, including an Mi24 splash!

Cons:

Frame rate was rough. Flying with 13-17 FPS.
Lag spike and ARMA being ARMA caused several lost airframes
LAPES goes boom

Operation Name: Operation Sumava Freedom - Airfield Foot Assault
Element Callsign: Buffalo-1/Buffalo Flight
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Thumper.N (Buffalo-1 Pilot)
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Wulf.C (Buffalo-1 Co-Pilot)
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Grizzle.M (Buffalo-1 Door Gunner)
Specialist Law.S (Buffalo-1 Crew Chief)

Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C (Buffalo-2 Pilot)
Corporal Terp.J (Buffalo-2 Co-Pilot)
Specialist Hess.J (Buffalo-2 Crew Chief)
Private Whiz.T (Buffalo-2 Door Gunner)

Pros:
  • The flight overall had enough to do, but there was a bit of down time which was called out.
  • Buffalo-1 had some spicy contact where we fast roped Atlas on top of Assassin due to an immediate need due to casualties.
    • We did this under sustained fire and both M134 guns returned fire.
    • One person couldn't fast rope for some reason and we pull to a nearby opening and dropped him off.
  • Buffalo-1, immediately after dropping Atlas, we also needed to drop re-supp at the same time.
    • The LZ for the drop was right next to the fast rope position, but was too hot to land, and while under sustained fire we also air dropped full re-supp to Assassin while under the same sustained fire.
Cons:
  • Some down time where separate "air Zeus" could be utilized to get air crews some additional work.

Operation Name: Sumava Freedom
Element Callsign: Gunslinger-5
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Sam.T

Pros:

  • Succession of command between 5 and 6 happened smoothly.
  • Squads handled casualties decently.
  • Atlas was super on the ball.

Cons:

  • Some rough bits as far as communication goes.
  • Intermittent contact, the Platoon expected a bit more grind from the town on the front end.

Pros:

  • Squads stayed busy
  • Server performed well with a 100 players
  • Zeus's were very responsive to our needs

Cons:
  • Initial push into the OBJ was very rough but after that contact was very sporadic, did not feel like an assault, felt more like following breadcrumbs

Pros:
  • Players had a good time
  • Splitting ATLAS-1 into ALPHA and BRAVO teams, with Christmas colors, helped reduce response time supporting more units
  • Communications between squads and 7 was quick, on point and effective
  • Black tags very low
  • Good helicopter reinserts for ATLAS-1. Mostly disconnects

Cons:
  • Lag got crazy and disconnects
  • Body bug make it so we could not move causalities. Had to use surgical meds to KO to reset the glitched

Pros:

  • Had a decent amount of taskings
Cons:

  • Got zeus healed after getting shot down. Not sure why?
  • The fog got a little too much and too sudden.
  • Had some werid glitches after crash.

Pros:
  • Fun, lots of stuff to do
  • Medics did amazing on every call
  • Lots of surgery

Cons:
  • People didn't bring their red tags from the active danger zone
  • Callsigns calling for medical while advancing in front of the whole platoon, not ideal.
  • 12 strong mascas, we saved only 4. RIP

Pros:
  • Squad worked well together
  • Squad held cohesion well in chaotic situation
  • Everyone had fun

Cons:

  • Server lag issues caused degraded experience for members of the squad
  • Random ghost IDF round causing a MASCAS situation out of nowhere
  • Air assets seemingly untasked to deal with known IDF threat.
  • Maneuver elements made to wait on CAS before advancing, preventing us from gaining momentum and controlling the tempo of battle.
  • TFAR radio issues requiring squad lead to run in order to communicate.

Operation Name: Operation Sumava Freedom - Air Assault
Element Callsign: ASSASSIN-6
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Berg.J

Pros:

  • Platoon communications were solid. Things were hectic but everything was communicated clearly and in a concise manner throughout the mission.
  • Amazing support from Hilberg as PSG. This is my first time filling the PL role in an operation and a real trial by fire, but I had very solid support to lean on.
  • Due to circumstance, we were forced to hit every objective at a high pace and the platoon really pulled through on this. We used what lulls we can to reconsolidate and we pushed through the objectives aggressively as we could.
  • Huge thanks to the SLs, FTLs and Assassin 7 for doing superb jobs!

Cons:
  • Assault into the southern part of town had us facing contact from one too many directions at one point. Understandably difficult decision to push through rather than hold due to sheer amount of indirect fire.
  • I requested fires and reconnaissance from Chaos mostly to deal with hardened positions though also to locate the source of the indirect fire but the assets were already tasked at some of the times I've asked and we were unable to obtain that support at the time.
  • Not a huge con per se but I don't think I've ever said "IDF" so many times in my life and coming from me, that's something haha.

Pros: Communication between squads was rock solid, thanks in part to senior squad leadership

Cons: This was my first time doing any sort of platoon role, so i was really out of element. I know now how much i need to improve or practice at the squad level before i move up or take a platoon role again.

Pros:

  • Excellent actions by platoon.
  • Good comms with Hitman.
  • Excellent initiative and maneuver by squads.

Cons:
  • Very slow resupply for weapons squad.
  • Utilization of the weapon squad on targets was lacking, more so area suppression. Lots of trigger time, but the squad would've liked more noticeable impact on objectives.

  • Driving the Strykers is kinda sucky.

Pros:

  • Really good platoon movements by both platoons.
  • Great coordination between platoons.
  • Guests did a solid job filling out entire squads.

Cons:
  • All the guests requested that an operation of this size has an OPORD that is shared with them prior. They weren't a big fan of FRAGO of this size.

Cons:

  • Lag was pretty difficult to deal with

Operation Name: Sumava Freedom - Operation Mechanized Assault
Element Callsign: LIGHTNING-1
Element Leader: Captain Highman.J

Pros:

Lots of Red Air to engage and destroy.
I managed to splash 5 MiG-28 and 1 MiG-27, including two with guns only.

Cons:

Waited until Endex for a new aircraft, but removing the Lightning also reduced the Red Air pressure which had been relentless.
Lost one airframe when trying to bring a crippled ship home from a dogfight.
Some frame rate issues, but overall this was the best of the three today in terms of performance.

Pros :

Good teamwork overall
Good communication, especially steel rain / red air
Fun time
Overall well ran
Mission was fun, especially forest fighting
Northern fight fun
Good calls on Critical Red Tags
Mission was good, slowed down a lot waiting on others / SL

Cons :
Reaction to IDF poor, room to improve
Lack of communication, SL to TL
Flanking GBU was an issue "illegal"
Comms between TLs could be better
Lack of information on friendly forces
TS issues / TFAR issues
City slog tedious
Re-insert took longer than ideal - felt like a long time
