Pro:
  1. Private Salte.B's first OP!!! And he did an awesome job as an AR!
  2. Love the map x5
  3. Implementation of MOUT at first objective was good.
  4. Civ aspect. More civs!
  5. Good time with the team.
Con:
MISSION
  1. Opord a little at odds with the story laid out by Mission Controller. Just a flavor thing.
  2. Second air assault elements of Misfit-2 were left behind due to false last man call.
  3. React to sniper fire.
  4. Atlas a little too close at times.
SQUAD/SL
  1. Cohesion.
  2. SLs ability to relay squad's role in the mission.
  3. Constantly felt like we were reacting.
  4. SL failed to commit to the plan laid out in Opord.
  5. Squad positioning relative to platoon.

Pros
  • Excellent work with Buffalo flight, top notch and it was awesome to have those 2 airframes with 3 crew each. Crew were on point.
  • Infantry element fire and manoeuvres at the platoon level looked seamless, with appropriate coverage. Good work from infantry teams in this regard.
  • Infantry boarding and lifts were generally very good across the board.
  • Loved the opportunity to work in this unique and uncommonly used terrain. It's very distinct from other terrains.
  • Like the mission concept and being spread across multiple AOIs with taxi distance in-between. Excellent crafting by our 3 mission makers and the detailed planning and execution from 6.
  • Incredibly fast time for squads to get ready
Cons
  • Personnel deploying unauthorised signals on the LZs. This almost disrupted one of the landings with aircraft potentially hitting obstacles, or being located too far away. This kind of behaviour is reluctantly expected for WFW, hopefully no Cav members were culprits.
  • Would like to hear more initiative from infantry leads to send up SPOTREPS prior or during contact and then SITREPS unprompted after neutralising contact.
  • Struggled with speed at the first 30 minutes of the deployed operation, would have liked to have taken on AOI 2 instead of skipping it but appreciated it expedited time.
  • Rumours of individual infantrymen going rogue.

Pro:
  1. Great comms with 5!!!!!!!
  2. Amazing frames
  3. Great variety on missions/objectives (insert, short flights, extract, resupply)
  4. Amazing comms between flight/other AC
  5. The overall pace/timeline of the missions seemed perfect, perfect amount of downtime vs. flight time
  6. LZ security! Great work on the infantry!
  7. Great implantation of civilians, making pilots second guess their ability to enable gunners to go weapons free
Con:
  1. Almost no cons, minus the multiple amounts of colored smoke deployed on 1 LZ
  2. Nothing else!!!!

Element Callsign: Misfit-7
Element Leader: Master Sergeant Maco.D

Pros:

Platoon Leader worked well with platoon on movements
Platoon resupply was sorted well
Alpha Co usage was nicely done
Work between 6/5 was spread fairly well
6 line readbacks went very well with Atlas TL's

Cons:
Medical work for Atlas seemed low on with the reports I was given.
Heli load ups were very slow and should be done at a much faster speed.
Some misfit members not following orders to SL
Misfit PM kit was a nightmare to sort out.
Troopers were throwing many smokes of different colours when not asked to which can result in conflict with the requesting asset for the pick up.

Pros
  • The step of time was excellent! Misfit-2 was ready to step off before we even had airframes prepared for the pilots!
  • Excellent mission file; looking forward to the campaign on this map with the new and more varied terrain.
  • MOUT work seemed to be conducted well tonight by troopers.
  • Excellent work from Misfit-5, great initiative was taken when needed.
  • Despite the large number of objectives, we completed the mission within the established 150-minute timeframe. The decision from Godfather to shave off AOI-2 was good, despite removing the only foot movement the OP had—great flexibility from the Zues to keep the OP in a reasonable timeframe.
  • In most instances, off-loading procedures from the Buffalos were excellent tonight.
  • The limitation of two Buffalo was, in my mind, a pro; it added a layer of challenge and management to leadership and added to the taskings for Misfit-5. The staged lifts in and out of the AO added to the experience for aviation and the PSG.
Cons
  • The biggest conn was individual soldier discipline. We had reports of fire teams "lone wolfing" and refusing orders from their SL, troopers not listening to "lift-fire" commands from leadership, liberal and unnecessary deployment of signals on the final LZ, and reported liberal use of explosives inside civilian population centers. As a public operation, this is expected to be more of a "learning environment" where some mistakes may be made and corrected. However, there is a difference between mistakes made by troopers "learning the ropes" and experienced members deliberately disregarding training.
  • The latest trend of slow boarding operations continued tonight, though not to the severe extent of some other operations. We seemed to leave the birds very well, but loading onto them was more clunky.
  • The widely variable turnout for WFW makes planning tricky. There isn't much we can do about this; having more people is always excellent. But it does bear to be mentioned that planning on OP for two squads and then having an entire platoon worth of infantry can lead to some strain on execution.
