Element Callsign: Bandit 6
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Mackey.A

Pros:

  • Mission success and Commander's Intent was meet throughout the entirety of the entire operation.
  • Great cross talk throughout the platoon, SL's working together to maneuver and ensure mutual support.
  • Great work by Buffalo crews tonight, two inserts, and movements off of objectives, exfiling multiple NATO forces and body bags, and timely and accurate orbital fire support with no blue on blue.
  • Comm's throughout the entirety of the operation between all elements seemed to flow really well.
Cons:
  • I don't really have any tonight.

Pro:
Good comms between Atlas teams and 7
Great team to work with
Always great watching Alpha doing formation flying
Great seeing 6 lines get used for casevacs
Lots of surgical work

Con:
Beginning of the op was a little slow for Atlas but picked up at the end
Path down the mountain was a bit iffy
Troopers purposely overdosing on morphine leading to unnecessary Atlas calls

Element Callsign: Buffalo-4

Element Leader:
Major Dread.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Warrant Officer 1 Spitnale.K

Pros:
  • Great turnout for aviation (several fully crewed birds)
  • Creative tasking from ground forces
    • Medical 6 lines
    • AA, Anti Ship, resupply and gun runs
  • Coms not cluttered
  • Formation flight was pretty text book for most legs
Cons:
  • The contour descent for the insert called for tight flaring into the LZ (not a con)
    • Consider training more on corkscrew approaches from elevation.
  • S3 please use the MH models for operations. The UH doesn't have any HUD capabilities.
  • Didn't really have any cons just some ideas for A CO

Pros:
  • Great work by all aviation units, everyone was excellent in their performance of their role and teamwork.
  • Took a hit from a RPG-7, servo damage, transmission damage, pressure damage, managed to continue orbit for supporting fires, extract Buffalo 4 from downed aircraft, extract Bandit elements, and return to the airfield without loss of life or air frame.
  • A lot of tasking and work to do for aviation, very little down time.
  • Completed 6-Line from Atlas-1.
Cons:
  • Smoke discipline from infantry while marking friendly positions.

Pros:
  • Excellent pushing through adverse situations.
  • Kept the fighting going through casualties being taken.
  • Excellent buddy-aid.
  • Great succession of command.
  • Contact was effective from the OPFOR side. Not overwhelming, but extremely effective.
  • Intersquad communications were great.
  • It was fun!
  • Fireteams worked well together.
  • Deconfliction from Bandit-1, Bandit-2, and Bandit-4 independent of 6/5 instruction.
  • The MOUT work was excellent.
  • The non-combat tasking at the first compound was fun and immersive. Excellent work from team members detaching to work with ATLAS.
  • Excellent ATLAS work.
  • Tucker's personal thoughts: Got to hit an MI-8 with an M72 and got to save Mackey, that was gucci.
Cons:
  • Grass at the first FOB was really dangerous. Good change, but, was almost impossible to find contact.
  • Land Navigational Hiccups causing slowdowns in movement.
  • Pushing Down Hills was rough.
  • Second objective, felt as if the mutual support of the platoon kinda' fell apart.

  • Buffalo bugging out on the extract landing

Pros:

  • Overall positive remarks from troopers about the op, some said it was one of the best they've done in a while.
  • Plenty of targets for 240s and MAAWS to engage near the end at the second objective and pretty good SBF positions all around.
  • Buffalos did a great job moving the platoon to two air assault objectives and handling reinserts, resupply, etc.
  • Comms in the Platoon and within Bandit 4 were both solid, SA seemed to be maintained well.
Cons:

  • Start was a bit slow, we ended up sitting in the same place for a while.
  • Had some locations where the ground wouldn't let people dig trenches so we couldn't get places to stabilize MGs.
  • MAAWS was slightly buggy when engaging some tanks at a far distance, seemed like it didn't register some rounds that hit. Or if it did register, the tanks showed no damage visually.

Specialist Xinos.T

PROS:
  • No black tags in Bandit-2.
    • Largely due to great work from 7, Atlas, and buddy aid.
  • Decent contact throughout operation culminating in extreme contact at second objective.
  • Good job by the Zeus balancing the aim and armor of AI with their ability to shoot through bushes and other soft cover.
  • Great working with Bandit-1 and de-conflicting the advance to objective 1.
  • Specialist Lee.H took out an MI-8 with an AT4.

CONS:
  • Platoon assault planning of second objective was sparse.
  • JIP players at mission start + 5 mins.
  • Final extract by birds was chaotic and several infantry almost were landed on due to 4 Buffaloes attempting to land simultaneously while infantry were moving to meet them.

Warrant Officer 1 Lindsay.A
Sergeant Major Schmidt.A

Pros:
  • Great turnout for aviation
  • Fun / creative fire support missions. 2x boats and Mi-8s engaged and destroyed. We also had 6 lines and resupply drops
  • Comms weren't cluttered
  • 4 ship formations were pretty cool
Cons:
  • The contour descent for the insert called for tight flaring into the LZ (not a con)
    • Consider training more on corkscrew approaches from elevation
  • We had the wrong bird spawned at the start which rendered the HUD for all the pilots useless. Flying with zero readouts was also a pro though
