Pros:

  • C-130 drop went smoothly
  • Had a fun couple of Air-to-Air engagements

Cons:

  • Blue-on-Blue incident + shot down an MI-8 apparently carrying an HVT. Need to work on communications between ground and air to make sure appropriate targets are being identified and struck. Eagle was only called in on 2 targets and BOTH turned out to be bad targets.
  • Could have been some more Air-to-Air, had a lot of downtime.

Pros:
  • We had alot of fun
  • Squad stayed alive until the last OBJ
  • Squad moved well
  • I loved being SL to this group of men. They did what they had too and most of us survived this one life OP. I love the one life OPs they are the best.
Cons:
  • Blue on blue twice, once from Eagle and once from Misfit-4. Eagle was bad killed two troopers.
  • To much walking for some troops and WPs could have been better due to terrain.
  • 1st OBJ was too easy, and 2nd OBJ was to hard.
  • Had cookoffs once firefights began. It was horrible, that even one trooper had to grab an AK from running out of ammo due to this.
  • Once Misfit-6 went down the platoon had a hard time getting back on track
  • SBF could have been placed in better spot on last OBJ but due to time it was understandable.

Pros:
  • We had a lot of fun
  • Squad stayed alive until the last OBJ
  • Squad moved well
  • Fundamentals executed with great skill
  • Medical teams were quick and efficient.
Cons:
  • Building we had just secured was hit by a bomb, took our 6 and mass casualty in Misfit-1
  • Terrain features not quite what matched the battle plan, we adjusted in route however
  • Bleed out time seemed quick

Loved the HALO, loved that we did a one life at night. This challenge and atmosphere were well balanced, and the only challenge to its success were things like NVG scripting and things of that nature. Most of the detractions came down to technical issues.

Pros:

  • Super fun OP. HALO drops and stealth OPs are super fun concepts to work with, and we got both of these in this OP.
  • Once we took contact at the second objective, there was plenty of medical to do.
  • Excellent communication between Atlas teams and Misfit-7.

Cons:

  • The pacing was thrown off heavily by the blue-on-blue incidents and bleed-out timer. It felt like every casualty happened at once, and most died before Atlas could perform any kind of intervention.
  • Surgical Perms were limited to vehicles and facilities. This is the default setting on the training server, which is the most likely culprit. This would've been fine, but our team was equipped for surgical actions, not PAK'ing troopers. Clarification of this at the beginning would have been helpful.
  • The scripts lead many people to lose their NV equipment on the drop. There was contradictory information being passed around at the start, confirmation beforehand would've been helpful. As it turns out, the forest we were in was very, very dark!

All of the issues we had came down to either technical gripes with the server settings or poor communications before or during the operation. I would like to see more of these operations in the future, however, I understand the relatively slow nature of stealth OPs is a turn-off for many.
