Pros:

  • Lots of work for the medics.
  • Good CQB fundamentals
  • Buddy aid and communication from Platoon was fantastic.
  • Good CCP placement and good security with the platoon.
  • Insert itself was extremely well coordinated and very fun. Well done A Co!
Cons:
  • Not everyone was able to fit in the helicopters they were assigned to. Need to be able to abide by loading plan.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

  • Plenty of targets and loads of CAS attacks completed.
  • Great coordination with -6 on infantry movements/intentions and bringing in effective and close CAS.
  • Great initial setting of enemies: LIGHTNING clearing out AAA/SAMs on the ground for the first 15 minutes, then BISON is able to get eyes on and conduct CAS (with heavier CAS and constant CAP from LIGHTNING).
Cons:
  • Should have taken the opportunities to use BUFFALO door gunners to suppress enemies, will use this more in future.
  • Didn't notice/hear any activity on the other areas of the map or the bridges.
  • Both LIGHTNING and BISON off station at the same time leaving times where no CAS was available.

Pros:
  • Solid comms between Chaos and Lightning
  • Really good 9-line speed
  • I tossed GBU-53's over 10 kilometers.
  • Great airpower usage from Thumper.N in 6.
  • Really good server performance even with fog effects! Big!
  • Absolute DEMONIC mission for myself, killcount is: 4x Tunguska, 1x 1S-G Radar Site, 4x MD-454 Mystere's, 4x Griffin Gunships, 2x MiG-23 Flogger-B's, 3x Mi-27M Flogger-J's, 2x MiG-28-TG Firebat's, 3x M113's and infantry kills with a buddy lase from Bison.
  • Great op Beiter.A thanks mate
Cons:
  • Could've timed triple R cycles better with other CAS elements.

Pros:

  • Lots of CAS calls
  • Chaos on point
  • Infantry movement was awesome to watch from the sky
  • First time in 5 years I had a SL ask for more CAS
  • Really good balance on the challenge of the AO for CAS
Cons:
  • Nothing from BISON

Element Callsign: Bandit-5
Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Westcott.R

Pros:

  • Excellent job by the entire platoon keeping the push on the enemy
  • Buffalo Flight, as always were phenomenal! From the Helo-cast, to re-inserts, to my convoluted dual-drop resupply run...all just performed with expeditious precision.
  • Atlas-2 was pretty much attached to me all OP, and were Johnny on the Spot keeping M4 in the fight.
  • Excellent Leadership by B6...that was a tough series of problems to solve and you got the job done!
Cons:
  • I completed forgot about the Door gunners of Buffalo flight and it was brought up that they could have been used as precision CAS to aid the infantry with suppression in the city. Is there an SOP for the PSG calling for fire from Buffalo?
  • Not the hugest fan of almost a KM of distance between Charlie elements...M4, myself and Atlas 2 were kind of on an Island all night...but we had work the entire time.
  • Error in the resupply compositions, full boxes but of completely useless ammo.
  • Split LZ's lead to not enough seats to get people to the correct LZ.

Pros:
  • First time being SL but it was nice having LTC.Burton.P as 7.
  • Not too much action for my guys being SBF atlas.
  • Still got two surgeries.
  • Stuck together very well, most of the time in talking range.
  • Insert was very fun.
Cons:
  • I had one guy forced with atlas 2 but we still had fun.
  • during insert atlas-1 was dropped first, which was kind of sketchy.
  • we took 1 black which was the only red.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

1SG Summerfield.P

Pros:

  • Great inter-flight comms between ships
  • HELOCAST is always fun
  • Seemed like the right amount of AA/AAA/threats to air
  • Great flying from the entire flight
Cons:
  • I had to leave the OP early (after about 1.5 hours)
  • Secondary air taskings would have been nice to supplement some of the down time, however there wasn't too much due to re-inserts
Overall pretty good time!

Element Callsign: BUFFALO-1 / BUFFALO FLIGHT
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C 'Hooker'

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sparrow.P 'Pinball' (BUFFALO-2)
Specialist Spin.M (BUFFALO-3)
Private First Class Sawyer.H (BUFFALO-4)
Warrant Officer 1 Grizzle.M
Pros:

  • Absolutely excellent mission and we all had a blast and what a interesting and fun one to Flight Lead for. Probably one of the best.
  • EXTREMELY great flying from all Alpha pilots and crew. Coordination was A+++. What a hell of a job everybody did. Nightstalker level.
  • Helo-cast was really cool and was executed EXCELLENTLY with the Chalk in BUFFALO-1. Great job and great leadership here. (and prep)
  • Great initial inserts... almost perfectly simultaneous inserts as we were desiring.
  • Comms were really great, only sometimes got screwy due to TFAR range (of course), which is hella frustrating. Ship to ship and CTAF comms were damn near perfect.
  • Comms with Bandit-5 were really fantastic.
Cons:
  • Apparently the resupply crates provided did not have correct ammo/munitions and we want to get the guys exactly what they need.
  • TFAR radio range is frustrating... range needs to be increased. Or maybe are there relays that can be put down on the map so the range issues can be resolved.
  • FARP thing at the end was confusing due to the FARP supply question, but of course we managed and was able to simulate it.
  • I didn't write down all the names of all the crew for inclusion in this AAR, so it's shorter than it should be as we had more than what I'm putting in here. They will get operational credit but my bad on that for sure. So if I left you out, please let me know and I'll fix.
