Pros:
  • Great job from the JM's: Briefing went well, check in on the grounds were a text book example of someone not checking and going to find them.
  • SLs were flexible and adaptable to changing evaluations in the situation. Constant FRAGOs to adjust to what was going and communicating with each other. Great use of Troops in Contact calls and then updating what they were facing. I actually got SITREPs without having to ask for them which is great to see.
  • 5 was on his game tonight with constant resupplies and figuring a way to extend his LR range to be able to reach Buffallo. Planning consideration for moving forward is how to either extend the range or keep an element near the AO to act as an aerial relay to units outside of the LOS range.
  • Hammer was great to get into play
  • Server performance was stable throughout the operation.
  • 2 x HVT's secured and brought back to base.
Cons:
  • Tonight I would chalk up to a stalemate, to no real fault of the platoon. They took ground and, were aggressive and decisive, when needed and fell back as required by the situation. Unfortunately due to time and a large enemy presence on the west side of the river we were unable to hold onto our bridgehead and move out and attack our additional objectives.
  • Low turnout for Hammer, unknown how it affected crew performance inside the aircraft.
  • Already mentioned in my comments about 5 but LOS Radios. Planning needs to be taken into account when airfield staging is way outside LOS range of the radios. Learning point for future planning with assets.
  • 2 x HVT's killed.

Pros:
  • Very fun and enjoyable operation.
  • Well designed mission and zues control. Felt pressured with good balancing.
  • Textbook paradrop, scripts fixed. One pass drop. Vehicle drop on the runway was also a very picturesque detail.
  • Tactical and well executed MOUT. Worked well as a platoon movement.
  • Aggressive SBF throughout. Remained online and supportive rather than behind the line of advance.
  • Multiple vehicle kills by the 'Norwegian Nasties'.
  • Good use of force multipliers with the humvee.
  • Top work within the squad all round.
Cons:
  • HVTs slight after thought. 1 HVT successfully secured.
  • Couple of disconnects within the squad due to ping cap or framerates.

Element Leader: Chief Warrant Officer 3 Sutodoreh.W

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Second Lieutenant Highman.J
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Sutodoreh.W
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Berg.J

Pros:

  • Great teamwork between myself Highman.J and Berg.J in HAMMER
  • First operational attempt of a LAPES drop, pretty small airfield with obstacles, yet pulled off flawlessly
  • No issues or go-arounds with the static line drop
  • SEAD completed in record time within the first 15 minutes
  • Despite the lower turnout than desired, with 3 pilots (one who joined halfway through) were able to do a static line drop, a SEAD mission, a LAPES vehicle drop AND an entire operation worth of AC-130 work
  • As Grizzle.M mentioned, this was the first aviation AAR in weeks or months where there really were no complaints from participants. It's ops like today's op that keep folks coming back
Cons:

  • Tiny bit of comms stuff, really just due to the TFAR switch and still getting used to it. That's it.

Pros:
  • Good teamwork and pleasant company as always.
  • Good 360 security from the whole squad.
  • Drop went relatively well and people proved they can count.
  • TFAR usage continues to improve (and excel over ACRE in some cases)
  • 2 HVTs successfully retrieved by MISFIT-1. No cocaine was found at Obj 1 or Obj 2.
  • Pacing and contact levels were good.
  • Proximity of DZRP to objective was good to help recover some time lost to static jump.
Cons:
  • VDV seemed a little tankier than usual. Possibly due to frames.
  • AI at first AO were very accurate and caused a black tag at first contact through trees.
  • Sidechat usage was loose at start.
  • Several incidents/choices that reduced immersion.
    • Guitar playing on bird at mission start.
    • Static jump and AC130 being used in daylight.
    • One trooper not following orders and displaying poor discipline.
    • Endex felt a little sudden and out of place.
  • Jump script appears to have bugged. 5, 6, and a member of 1 "jumped" but received no parachutes via the script.
  • Always have to keep in mind that static jumps reduce time on the ground significantly when putting together a mission. 3 objectives in a major city was a bit much.

Pros:
  • Airdrop went well, all casualties were treated on the DZRP
  • Everyone in the team did exceptionally well, coordinated quickly and were very flexible.
Cons:
  • CASEVAC to the CCP by non-Atlas personnel should be conducted more if possible. Atlas was over extended, and when that happens I'm going to start saying we can't leave the CCP.
  • Should have used two vehicles.

Pros:
  • Overall Enjoyment
    • Another solid operation
  • Good Contact
    • Consistant combat throughout
  • Jump
    • Very well done for a WFW

  • Planning
    • Lack of consolidation plan
    • Bridge assault/crossing planned poorly
    • Vehicle for Misfit-2 taken
  • Leadership Survivability
    • Platoon Lead leading from front

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Very fun and enjoyable operation.
  • Comms were good, got congested at points, but nothing we couldn't overcome.
  • Good coordination between Buffalo elements.
  • Took initiative for LZ and Cargo drops.
  • Buffalo was active with various pop up missions. Barely any time sitting at MOB Cold.
Cons:
  • Congest comms, could be cleared up by separating A-A assets into different internal freqs.
  • Distance and terrain made it difficult to communicate with Misfit 5 from MOB Cold.
