B/2-7 is currently accepting applications for the billet of Platoon Sergeant. If you do not meet all of the requirement but are still interested, you are encouraged to submit an application regardless.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be in good standing with no active negative actions
• Maintained Section Leader position for a minimum of 30 days prior to selection
• Be at the minimum rank of Sergeant or higher upon application
• Letter of interest from Trooper to First Sergeant Sven.S , Captain Bunnell.M , Captain Mix.C , Second Lieutenant Sotelo.R
• Selected by Company Staff

Expectations:

• Reviewing Roll Call reports from sections under his command.
• Reviewing and completing the platoon report weekly.
• Conducting Platoon FTX once a month per the Platoon Leaders orders and/or per the S3 Department guidelines.
• Relay information transmitted to him from the Chain of Command to the personnel under his command.
• Ensure Section Leaders are trained and equipped with the necessary knowledge, tools and training to effectively lead their sections.
• Ensure Section Leaders are managing their sections effectively and duties are being performed per the governing procedures.
• Ensure platoon is combat ready.
• Perform administrative duties and paperwork associated with his platoon. (ex: DCS, commendation)

• Listed below is the process for billet selection for PSG for all Troopers across the Regiment (taken from https://wiki.7cav.us/wiki/Billet_Selection_SOP_for_ASL,_SL,_and_PSG):
  • Be in good standing with no active negative actions
  • Maintained the MOS billet of SL for a minimum of 30 days prior to application
  • Be at the minimum rank of Sergeant or higher upon application
  • Submit an application upon position opening and following the application process
  • Applications reviewed by Staff
  • Company Staff selection who officially appoints the position (can be delegated to Platoon Staff)
• The selected candidate will be expected to meet the following standards:
  • 1-7 Platoon Staff Initial Counseling Statement
