Pros:
Had okay time.
Abate provide great moral support, had issues inserting in a timely matter.

Cons:
Need to improve Communications for targeting and shift fire.
I would like to have seen more Platoon Lines and a LOA.
Marking of things on blue-force, you want us to kill.
Actual had issues getting battleye kicked.
Short on people
No UAV on Bandit-5, as he loses overview.

I suggest adding Bravo Troop 2nd platoon Scout Squad with the UAV, with a tasking of reconnaissance only, with strikt break on contact rule set.

Pros:
Great squad actions on objective
Good morale within the squad
Blake lost his trousers

Cons:
SBF position in opposite line of Bandit-1 and directly in line and behind Bandit-2 limiting their abilities
Understand completely the need to adjust on the fly from MC due to lack of attendance, shifting the initial design of the operation
Set up a really good defensive position at the end, could have kept it going for another 15-20 minutes

Pros:
  • Great time with great friends. Huge fun. Great job MM and OIC.
  • Great job from Leadership elements.
  • A+++ job from CP Captain Highman.J. Well done sir.
  • Comms with BANDIT-5 were great.
  • Comms with CHAOS-1 were great.
  • Re-supply was on point.
  • Bird inventory and FRIES was implemented as requested with 36.6 ropes and FRIES system as contingency option.
  • Re-supply vics, Re-fuel, Re-Supply, Re-Arm, available as they should always be.

Cons:
  • Hellfires screwed up again, but this time perhaps my fault. I was later informed that the Hatchet H-60 only supports Laser and weapon freq Channel Alpha and Bravo and nothing beyond that (Charlie through Foxtrot). I initially ordered Foxtrot channel for Lase deconfliction purposes and for testing purposes. I had no idea the other channels didn't work, but my bad on that one.
  • Despite Hellfire issues, APKWS and DAGR's worked very well when bore-sighted off the nose in direct fire attack in the square... no top-down attack available as with Hellfire which sucks... but we 7Cav guys managed and it was very effective as long as you have Line Of Sight and lock.
  • Always recommend 2x helos... preferably 2x BISON/BUFF/or whatever combination... for CSAR/QRF/ISR purposes. Even if we have to use lighter aircraft like Little Bird, always preferable to have 2x helos for the purposes stated which are extremely important and extremely valuable.
  • Unfortunate low turnout, especially Alpha Co. turnout.
  • Disappointed with seemingly early ENDEX ... seemed cut-off... was expecting more. Anti-climactic.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Bandit-6
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Sam.T

Pros:

  • Individual squad initiative was excellent.
  • Squad actions on objective were practical.
  • Platoon break contact was effective; we took minimal casualties in the face of a dramatically superior opposing force.
  • Enemy QRF was met with extreme violence, resulting in multiple destroyed armor assets and neutralized infantry.

Cons:
  • The lack of personnel to evacuate from OBJ made Atlas's secondary tasking redundant. Having someone there for them to interact with during these lower-contact operations can dramatically alter their player experience.
  • Fitting the rifle squads out of their original lanes meant the 90-degree offset for the weapons squad was negated entirely. This led to difficulties in utilizing their weapon systems effectively.
  • OPFOR reaction to us breaking contact was underwhelming. They had us on the back foot and had the opportunity to inflict much more damage as we broke contact. Combining this with the excellent hasty defense set by the squads, the operation ended in more of a whimper. Having an operation end at a slower point is fine, but in this instance, it felt like the enemy was "close on our heels," and they just never appeared.
