Element Callsign: Infidel-1
Element Leader: Specialist Nate "Justicar" Thumper

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Sergeant Major Anthony Preacher - Security
Corporal Thomas Holiday - Security
Specialist Joe Highman - Medic

Pros:
  • Great work by the team, everyone was excellent in their performance of their role and teamwork.
  • Great movement to RP and OP, including danger crossing, etc.
  • Team communication was perfect.
  • Infidel ended up having to push into the target area and kill the HVT ourselves.
Cons:
  • Several 9 Line missions were not completed due to pilots not properly completing the 9 Lines, or lack of LOS due to terrain.

Element Callsign: Buffalo-1
Element Leader: Specialist Paul "Slick" Alexander

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Warrent Officer 1 Joe "Preacher" Sinca - Co-Pilot
Sergeant John Terp - Crew Chief
Specialist David Otakar - Door Gunner

Pros:
  • The FTX was a good platform for testing sling loading and the limits of the hatchet mod.
  • Buffalo-1 performed a CSAR op to recover Buffalo-2's crew after they were engaged by red air; this was performed smoothly and with good communication.
  • Buffalo-1's crew had excellent internal communication and crew resource management throughout the op. Examples include: the crew chief's talk on to sling loading the RHIB, and the pilot and co-pilot sharing duties effectively.
Cons:
  • Sling loading of the RHIB caused a violent 'lurch' which lead to loss of control of the aircraft and crash into the ocean.
  • The 'lurch' was initiated by a passing off of controls from pilot to co-pilot. The passing of controls was done while low and slow (~50m ~50kph); the loss of control may have been recoverable if the hand off of controls was performed higher and faster. Passing of controls should be performed with ample height and speed to recover in the event of this bug.
  • There was very little for the Crew Chief and Door Gunner to do during the op. For the most part, they were left out of the action.

Element Callsign: BUFFALO-2
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Baruch.J

Sergeant Major Schmidt.A
Specialist Spin.M
Pros:
  • Good idea with the concept.
  • Unfortunate but successful BUFFALO-2 autorotation into the water (due to Red Air missile shot)
  • Aforementioned Auto had a nice silver lining with an excellent CSAR by BUFFALO-1. Great job guys.
  • Great infantry turnout.
  • Great teamwork across the board, especially in efforts to deal with the major malfunctions.

Cons:
  • Terrible FTX full of glitches and failures. Whole thing felt half-baked. A for effort, F for functionality.
  • No OPORD for advance reading/prep.
  • Re-spawn points were FUBAR.
  • Slinging with AFM on is extremely risky as was proven by two nearly simultaneous BUFFALO crashes at the outset of the mission. This violent and random, uncontrollable "lurch" to right or left is out of the pilots control and crash is imminent about 99% of the time. I fully tested this in AFM using various speeds and strategies but it is staggeringly unreliable. Only way to avoid it or at least mitigate it is to switch to SFM while slinging, which sucks and runs afoul of Alpha Co. expectations to fly in AFM. But it is what it is.
  • Unfortunate BUFFALO-2 crash after Red Air missile hit, resulting in successful ocean autorotation, but also lots of swimming to get to shore for CSAR. All crew survived.
