Pros:
  • Good, clear, concise and reactive comms with element leads
  • Great support from Summerfield (5) and Gerrish (7)
  • Appreciate initiative from Mazinski to establish a mortar firebase
  • Mission challenging on contact, units took casualties but were rarely below combat effective
  • Atlas worked well, despite distance challenge to and from calls as well as vehicles being what they were
  • Lack of air support forced a pure infantry paradigm, permitted use of IDF assets
  • Element leads showed good initiative and used their skills when given intent to execute as they saw fit

Cons:
  • Convoy sequence silliness at the start, confusion between staging and order to move the entirety off, etc
  • Slow paced at start, partially due to how long it took Viking to scan given zones with drone
  • Loss of one drone at the very onset (crashed into trees it seemed?), loss of 2nd mid-op, left us black on thermal recon
  • A/1-7 unable to participate with their MOS (as well as other MOS such as tankers, air assault infantry, etc. though), would advise assigning recon craft such as the Super Tucano

If you have medal recommendations, please send them to your element leader. If you were an element leader, please submit them to me in the PM you were invited to. Deadline for these is 1 week from today.

If you were missed in the attendance list, please contact Liber.N.

Pros:

  • Overall fun OP. Always a blast to come hang out with everyone!
  • Good comms in between Altas teams and Platoon medic.
  • Some surgical cases. These are always awesome for training purposes!
  • Convoy OPs are always nice for Atlas. Having specific medical vehicles gives us more flexibility to carry kits, and adds/eases some advanced care options we normally don't have during air assaults and amphibious OPs.

Cons:

  • The pacing was sluggish. There were a lot of contributing factors, but Atlas-2 had a relatively slow OP.
  • Half of our team spent around an hour and a half without medical perms (no stitching, drug or fluid admin, or surgical perms). We eventually sat down with Zeus and Atlas-1 and got this figured out, but it definitely contributed to a slow OP for us.
  • For any OP where we want to double down on the Casevac/Medevac to a more established CCP/FOB, having suitable vehicles is extremely important. Having vehicles that only have enough room for the care team as a whole, and no additional seating/space is not conducive to successful evacs. Typical we aim to have at least a whole care team present for multiple casualty events, and with 4-door HMMWV doing that and successfully evac-ing casualties away from the front line isn't possible without sacrificing half the team.
  • As is frequent with limited arsenal OPs, the initial kits were not equipped properly for care. If there wasn't a limited arsenal it would be a quick fix, as almost all of us have saved kits to run during public OPs with all the equipment we need. At the start of the OP its always a rush to configure kits for specific roles, so having either good kits initially or an arsenal we can pull pre-made kits from would be a lifesaver.

Pros:
  • Comms were good with Platoon Staff and between both Atlas teams.
  • Atlas teams were able to get decent amount of medical treatment done.
Cons:
  • Downtime for Atlas teams was long, we spent most of the operation sitting around for an hour or more doing nothing.
  • Convoy organization was bad, could of been performed better was extremely confusing.
  • Limited arsenals and limited kits for Atlas-1 and 2 really does impact us a lot. Important we have what we need especially when it comes to fluid type due to how pharmacy is set up.

Pros:

  • Fun Operation. Thanks to Dunn for making it
  • Good comms with 6 and 7
  • Mortars were on point
  • Atlas support was awesome
  • Squad Leads did great

Cons:

  • Convoy at the start of mission
  • Lack of inclusion of other MOS's (This is WFW specific and nothing to do with the great mission that Dunn made)

Pro:
  • 0 black casualties
  • Got some scouting done
  • Had a reliable crew
  • Very good frames
  • OK comms when people were on the radio
  • Decent scaling of the OP without making it a turkey shoot
  • Very loose reins by 6
Con:
  • Felt like there was a missed opportunity by not having "off angle" QRFs coming in. We had the equipment to react to it.
  • Stryker did not have NVG or thermal, make sure to test before Night OPs.
  • A bit of confusion around who the mortar team was.
  • Some SLs only had 1 radio. Comes with experience.

Pro:
  • No black casualties
  • Solid squad
  • Good frames
  • 6 gave more freedom than normal for squads to decide how to take objectives
Con:
  • Slower pace than normal, however this isn't inherently a con as the enemy skill level made up for less units and gave us time to practice squad level skills.
