CALVERY TIMES – MARCH 2026 EDITION

7th​ Cavalry Gaming Regiment

Dear Cavalry Troopers,

After a period of silence, the Cavalry Times is proud to return to the 7th Cavalry Regiment. This monthly newsletter is dedicated to highlighting the troopers, leaders, and stories that make this community thrive. From in-depth interviews to after-action insights and feature articles, the Cavalry Times will serve as a platform to recognize excellence and share experiences across our ranks. Whether fighting through the fields of Hell Let Loose, coordinating operations in Squad, or executing complex missions in Arma, this regiment continues to set the standard for tactical gaming—and now, its story will be told once again.

Please bear with us as we get a few things in order. Plans for quizzes, AO spotlights, Operation debriefs, service awards, position openings, and possibly even cav-memes and comics are in the works. We have a lot in store for the Times, but we also need your help! Please comment on this thread or get a hold of me personally and let us know what you want to see featured in the Cavalry Times.

Per the direction of the Regimental Commanding Officer, the Command Staff Call (CSC) and Regimental Meeting (Regi) format and scheduling will change for 2026.

Based on feedback that the combined CSC/Regimental Meeting format was often too lengthy—sometimes extending to three or four hours—and not always relevant to the broader membership, we will return to monthly CSC's and quarterly Regimental Meetings. Additionally, we will place greater emphasis on keeping information that "could have been an email" out of meetings and instead focus on discussion, engagement, and meaningful interaction.

For Command Staff Calls, the focus will shift toward:

• Questions from staff directed to Battalion and General Staff.
• Raising issues that require discussion or coordination.
• Providing staff the opportunity to engage directly with the Regimental Commanding Officer and General Staff.

For Regimental Meetings, we will largely retain the existing format. These meetings will continue to emphasize engagement across the Regiment, including the usual question-and-answer session where members—from troopers and up—can ask questions directly.

Additional Changes to Improve CSC's

• CSC duration will be limited to 60 minutes, with a firm stop at the one-hour mark.
• Battalion and Departmental HQ's will submit a monthly report on the forums containing information that would otherwise be informational only (for example: growth numbers, personnel changes, and other statistics).
• These reports will also include any issues or discussion points the unit wishes to raise during the CSC so that the General Staff can review them beforehand.
• Reports will be due on the forums by the first Saturday of each month.
• A dedicated CSC forum section will be created for posting these...
