Pros:
  • OpOrd was great to have. Led to a very smooth insert
  • Lots of support. 7 was always on hand to help with casualties, which there were a lot of. Able to get resupply when needed, always had plenty of ammo for the fight.
  • FTLs did a great job, great squad communication, great succession of command.
  • Overall the squad did a good job of working through all of the chaos

Cons:
  • Very difficult to keep aligned for squad movements
  • Need to focus more on keeping security when taking casualties
  • Had multiple troopers ran over by 5
  • Initial push up runway was chaotic. Personally as an SL, had a difficult time managing the squad movement
  • Was confused about lanes for Guns 1 and 2 clearing objective

Element Callsign: Chaos 1
Element Leader: Private First Class King.MJ

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Rossi.C

Pros:
  • Two RAIDER assets are a LOT of firepower, so we were able to eliminate a MASSIVE number of enemy contacts and enemy forces.
  • Enabling Infantry movement via CAS is one of my favorite activities, so this was a great way to use our advantage to allow the rest of the CAV to operate.
  • Good Comms between CHAOS and both RAIDERS.

Cons:
  • Limited tools to assist in coordinating accurate strikes (no 320 Smoke Grenades, no laser designator, limited RAIDER thermal camera, no BLUFOR tracker) so it feels less controlled.
  • Difficult to keep track of friendlies while moving in this kind of environment. Makes it difficult to call CAS, be aggressive, and strike targets when you are concerned with fratricide.
  • These events are often too busy for me to effectively get training time in, so it probably feels slow and isn't as educational as I would like it to be.

7th Cavalry members involved with in Grizzly-1 element:
Private First Class Riggs.F
Private Lawrie.A
Specialist DeCann.A

Pros:

  • Flying the chinook and learning it more than already known
  • Landing in open combat area's to insert troopers to the fight
  • Being able to assist in resupplying the fob that was built on the island

Cons:

  • crashing grizzly-1 a few times
  • needing to go to separate locations beside MOB for supplies to keep the FOB running
  • some landings at mob were blocked via foliage around the base (was cleared away via grizzly-1 crew)

Element Callsign: Gunslinger 7

Element Leader:
(non-cav member) Hot Mic

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Mooser.G
Yota.G
Drezelan.O

Pros:

  • Good follow up of objectives and coverage for the whole of gunslinger 7 across the entire operation
  • Effective placement of ccp that gave us very good coverage between the different squads for a timely response of casualties
  • Troopers had a lot to do and were always within range to assist especially around gunslinger 4 and gunslinger 2
  • Resource management at the start was very important until we could get a supply point in place and was done very well
  • Everyone had fun

Cons:

  • Small confusion between the plt medics and cls on handing over the casualties but this is to be expected especially with less experienced players and did not affect the outcome of the operation

Element Callsign: Raider Flight
Element Leader: Chief Warrant Officer 3 Peterson.L (Raider-1 PIC)

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Sergeant Bishop.B (Raider-1 Gunner)
Specialist Wilson.R (Raider-2 PIC)
Specialist Crimzon.E (Raider-2 Gunner)

Pros:
  • Having 2 Raider's is ALOT of hate to be distributed.
  • Great communications between Raider Flight and Grizzly flight.
  • Fantastic comms between Raider and Chaos, plenty of work today for all elements.
  • All ground elements being diligent comms and coordination of location so we could keep risk of blue on blue to minimal
  • Chasing a redair when a shilka took out our tail rotor, took down the redair and Shilka while recovering from tail rotor failure. Then proceeded to do running CAS strikes for 10 minutes with damage to aircraft.
  • Grizzly clearing out the landing pads when Raider-1 had a mayday was fantastic.
  • Raider-1 KL, Unknown amout of troops/couldnt keep count after 80. 3X Shilka (1 w/no tail rotor) 4X BRDM, 2x Typhoon, 5x Mi-8 (1 w/ no tail rotor), 2x AH-6, 1x Fishing Boat
  • Raider -2 KL, 80+ infantry, 4x PKMs, 2x BRDM, 2x BTR, 2x Typhoon, 3+ Redair (1 in terminal attack on Raider-1)
  • No blue on blue from Raider flight with many danger close Strikes called in.
  • The view/engagement distance tonight was amazing to have.
Cons:
  • We struggle heavily in wooded area with finding accurate enemy troop without any kind of thermal for us to use.
  • The lack of tools that Chaos has to be able to use for helping coordinate CAS strikes hurts so we are truly dependent on either a solid walk-in on target or using smoke as a reference of where to hit or not hit and sometimes we are at the mercy of being ARMAed like we were a few times tonight on not having the smoke generate for Raider while Chaos was trying to call us in.
  • MG bunkers either take 1 hellfire to kill or are unkillable it seems. We placed 3 Hellfire's on 4 separate times into MG bunkers and no damage. While some MG bunkers can be taken down by our 30mm let alone a Hellfire.
  • The location of initial insert/initial strikes for target softening was a very uncommon and normally avoided placement for insert of aircraft/troops.
