Pros:
  • Lots of medical work and diverse treatments (multiple surgical cases, at least one cardiac tamponade case, etc)...
  • Good comms with -7.
  • Great medical team to work with.
  • Troopers were willing and ready to assist with medical efforts during mass casualty incidents.
Cons:
  • The general feel was disorganized. Not a lot of information was passed on regarding the scheme of maneuver or intent, and several plans changed immediately after a brief was issued.
  • No vehicle/convoy net led to convoy order and speed/spacing being relayed through 7 onto the medical net.
  • Troopers picking up medications off of AI and self-administering before/during treatment.

Pros:
  • Enjoyable
  • Good Buddy aid observed.
  • ATLAS teams operated very well.
  • Generally good coms with ATLAS members.
  • CCP on 2nd OBJ was good, split well with reds and yellows separate.
Cons:
  • Lack of return to stations from ATLAS-1.
  • Lack of vehicles for ATLAS from the start made MEDEVAC difficult.
  • Coms between 6/5/7 should be done on .5 not on the platoon net.
  • Convoy movement from OBJ1 to OBJ2 was very sloppy.
  • Movement from OBJ2 to OBJ3 was sloppy.
  • Convoy net was not used throughout.
    • Its important to use a convoy net when multiple elements are in a convoy as they are not on your platoon net.
  • Platoon coms left a lot to be desired.
  • Lack of battleplans on OBJs left it very difficult for myself as -7 to effectively organize medical.
    • With no APs, SBFs and lack of phase lines made it difficult to position ATLAS teams.
    • 2nd Objective ORP was inside the objective.

Pros:
  • Good squad cohesion with multiple DCs.
  • AO zulu was executed well.
  • CQC was done proficiently throughout the platoon.
  • FOB defense was handled well.
  • The platoon movement on AO Zulu was done well.
  • The squad's communication was good and clear.
  • Platoon seemed to iron out issues on AO Zulu.
Cons:
  • AO Yankee was a cluster.
  • Traffic jams help up movement from FOB.
  • It should not have taken as long as it did to organize the movement.
  • Platoon comms on AO Yankee was all over the place.
  • The platoon movement from the FOB should have had a convoy net.
  • The squad had a mass casualty event due to a KORD MG in a spot that could not be attacked properly.

Pros:
  • Good communication and security on objectives, supporting MISFIT elements.
Cons:
  • Backblast was not clear when using a MAAWS launcher. Defilade was too steep behind the launcher bearer.
  • Non-Cav Personnel was not in TeamSpeak, communicating with them via in-game group chat would have benefited us sticking together.

Pros:
  • None to speak of other than I didn't lose my s**t.
Cons:
  • The mission was set up as a patrol and quickly turned into a shoot-out with multiple major objectives, IEDs, and constant harassment.
  • Originally slotting and planning FRAGO'ed at mission start, with platoon split up.
  • Unable to plan ahead after coming into immediate contact at FOB at mission start.
  • Unable to reach Squads on S/R (Platoon).
  • Confusion over what a convoy is versus motorized operations.

Pros:
  • Squad had good communication throughout.
  • Squad was utilized well at AO Xray
  • Good contact in Yankee and Xray
  • Inter-squad communication was good.
Cons:
  • Convoy staging was a hot mess and a convoy net was needed.
  • Platoon net had alot going on.
  • AO Zulu had nothing really for weapons to do.
  • AO Yankee was a mess for us.

Pros:
  • Concept was nice
  • Receptive and reactive SLs
  • Succession was proper.
  • The CQC that I observed was good.
Cons:
  • Accountability of vehicles was poor. This is a platoon-wide issue.
  • This was a defensive operation that turned into two platoon level attacks on clustered and prepared enemies. This was not a foot patrol.
  • Lack of SITREPS, SPOTREPS, and very few ACE reports.
  • Poor Cohesion in leadership - this will be hammered out through continued practice.
  • Personal performance.
  • Motorized Operations were a hot mess.
  • The lack of preplanning and leaders briefs led to things being very adhoc - our reactions were good, however.
Overall, if we're going to practice foot patrols with some CQC mixed in, we need to better plan for that. If we're going to do a full on assaults, it changes how we're going to approach. If this was a test of versatility in our leadership, then I think that it worked well to highlight weaknesses but also a few strengths. React to Contact and ATLAS response were the most positive points - leadership comms and lack of procedure need the most work. (6 did a solid job of keeping his cool despite the circumstances.)
