From the other side of it though, if you're a new or public player hopping on the server to play for an hour and you spend most of that hour uncon being ferried around staring at a black screen you're not really having a good time.

Just to clarify, we haven't changed anything related to medical recently, the settings we have on tac2 have been there for a while now.

Playing the game is fun, being uncon for 10 minutes because nobody noticed you go down is not fun
"fun" is subjective, might not be fun for the trooper but would be fun for the pilot. Also, there is no penalty if you can be insta-revived, might as well just RNG.

Right but at that point you're trading one person fun for someone else's fun, which doesn't sound like a good design goal to me. It should be fun for both instead.

I do like this I feel like being hit needs a risk to go uncon. Sometimes people need to realize that being injured could take you out of the game for a while. For a players point I would like people to be able to take heavy wounds but not always go uncon at every hit they take. The human body can take alot of damage but the person is still awake

There is no insta-revive, tac2 is subjected to ACE medical rules like any other cav server.

Pilots can do CAS, inserts and logistics.
Infantry can only walk around and shoot shit, I don't think its fair to take away their only fun just to please the pilots.

Just my opinion, simply put I nolonger enjoy the public servers as a pilot, but having the posibility of medevac's for RW pilots seems cool to me and would be a nice realistic addition.

The issue is, if we set something like that up, where medivac/casevac is required, then we need someone online, running that role 24/7. If we can't make that happen (which I think we can agree we cannot) it just is not feasible. sometimes limitations of this being a GAME mean that realism can't always be the main priority and overall enjoyment of our public servers, and recruitment need to take the front seat.

If you change the medical system to make being uncon longer or need a medivac/casevac then you are making it a requirement. look at the whole picture.

This isn't about one persons specific style of gameplay, this is a public server and our main recruitment server. If you can't see that I urge you to take a step back and try to see things from a more holistic perspective. saying that if you don't want to be uncon for 15 minutes while everyone forgets you wherever you dropped then go play COD or something is a very narrow perspective on the situation.

I hate to say it, but there is a very heavy "You're wrong" attitude in this chat. You can't have an oppinion without someone shutting you down for thinking differently, this will be the last time i give my 2 cents here.

I'm always thinking about the bigger picture. I think quite a few will say that as well. I have been here long enough to know what Tac 2 is and does but if we always focus on recruiting on it what about our members who want to play on it but don't cause they don't enjoy it. I have asked quite a few new members from the last 3 months who said they didnt' even come to the cav from tac 2. So that says alot. I just wont bother anymore.
It was said on CSC today that ~40% come from public servers.

Opinions are absolutely encouraged, this is the feedback thread after all. This does not, however, mean that we will implement every idea suggested here. If we disagree with an idea we make an effort to explain why we disagree with it or why we wont be implementing it.

There have been many ideas suggested here and then subsequently implemented on the server/mission.

Is there not a Best of Both Worlds approach we could take here?
I mean, we could change ACE Medical around and do some wacky things with it.. or completely replace it with something else. Is there any suggestions on that?

Appears we are just circling around a problem only thinking of it in one way, when there is many approaches we could be making to tackle it.

Just gonna address this cause it seems to be a point of contention. Tac 1 and Tac 2 are always gonna be mainly for recruitment. Tac 2 obviously has more mods as an enticement for cav members to join, as tac 1 has less to have a lower barrier to entry, but at the end of the day those servers are for recruitment.
