COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: VIKING-7
Element Leader: Specialist Winters.R

Pros:
  • Responsive ATLAS calls
  • Medical was abundant
  • Communication between ATLAS and 7 were on point
  • ATLAS react to IDF on CCP was on point
Cons:
  • Convoy was a bit lost
  • Long periods of time of radio silence for 7 calls resulting with ATLAS being last to pull out of city. Had to look at CTAB to see forces moving out
  • Found injured infantry in need of ATLAS care but seemed to not want to bother
  • Last react to IDF/break contact wound up with ATLAS getting wiped with vehicle injury bug with 4K+ large avulsions on each limb.
  • TP of troops at end threw a wrench into everything

Non-7Cav Personnel:

Pros:
  1. Convoys are fun when they work with good communication.
  2. Good communication with the squad and Vikings 1.
  3. Quick response to injuries.
  4. Surgeries, and injuries right away, in the first area.
  5. The counter-attack was interesting, and different by using Willie Pete.
  6. Random injuries by squads.
  7. Call out between atlas1 member to lead and to Vkinings 7 to a BMP near the hospital.
  8. The usage of the CCP inside the hospital was on point. Instead using the embassy.

Cons:
  1. Too short.
  2. The retreat was bad, Atlas 1 was the last vehicle on the retreat/ Atlas1 members, a CLS, and members of other squads died in vehicles.
  3. CCP placement and or security was spotty.
  4. Taylor's first death in 21 operations.
  5. Be careful with the placement of enemy equipment.

Element Callsign: Buffalo-2
Element Leader: First Sergeant Summerfield.P

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
First Sergeant Summerfield.P
Sergeant Major Schmidt.A

Pros:
  • We ended up with lots to do, which was a pleasant surprise as we were prepared for a good bit of downtime
  • 3 successful AA missile evasions for Buff 2
  • successful CSAR while under radar threat
  • Hamms medical treatment. 1SGT did not give him permission to die (also why is the slapping sound so satisfying?)
  • Comms all around for the most part
  • Crew Chief
Cons:
  • Don't really have any from my standpoint. The floating power lines at FOB Muska were a bit odd, but we just decided to avoid that side of the FOB.

Element Callsign: BUFFALO-1
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Davis.D

Pros:
  • Tons of fun. Enjoyed supporting our ground forces.
  • CSAR was fantastic after good autorotation but subsequent roll-over and I was critically injured in the explosion. Subsequent medical care was provided by teammates and was fantastic resulting in my survival.
  • Medical treatment is also quite hilarious when you are uncon and listening to what they are saying and doing.
  • Comms with VIKING-5 were excellent.
  • Crew Chief did a really great job as always.
Cons:
  • No real cons except for the floating power lines I nearly crashed into. They were up there on one side, but either ended or became invisible on the other side. Very weird.
