Element Callsign: RAIDER-1 & CHAOS-1
Element Leader: Major Dread.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Major Dread.M
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Spitnale.K
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Villmarsson.L
Corporal Kastor.K

Pros:
  • Dynamic mission design with multiple AOs
  • Observed one of the smoothest Helocasts used
  • Difficult AOs for CAS because of the tree cover of the map
  • Great gunning by both gunners
  • Good comms with CHAOS. Tight controls and good windows used. Control was spot on considering that the Air Ground team couldnt see one another with the tree cover.
Cons:
  • BluFor tracker was not showing all the units on the map, and couldn't mark any SPOTREP on the tracker. Option is there, but it doesn't place any marks on the tracker.
  • AO1 was so densely covered by canopy it didn't feel like RAIDER was of much use.
Combined CHAOS as request because he was going to be out of pocket and no computer access.

Non-7th Cavalry Within Element:
  • N/A

Pros:
  • Fun
    • Everyone had a very good time
    • Yay!
  • In-Squad Teamwork
    • Tons of communication and contact calls
    • Quick to react to contact
    • Buddy team accountability
  • Water DZ
    • Cool that we are doing more of these helocasts

Cons:
  • Box Objective
    • Takes troopers out of combat for up to a km at a time
    • Possibly provide concrete reasoning if this is absolutely necessary
  • Contact
    • Middling-to-Low
    • Short and uninteresting firefights
    • Just not enough trigger time
  • Last OBJ
    • Two kills for whole squad on entire last objective

  • Cool, fun op in a good setting
  • Good squad with good aggression and initiative
  • Good cross-loading on fireteam, squad, and platoon
  • Good comms in squad and with platoon
  • Good flexing by 5 and 6
Cons:
  • Time in OBJ1 treeline too long
  • Mediocre LZ security at best
  • Weird spacing on all levels
  • 1st exfil bad, too long on LZ
  • 1st resupply was poor: ArmA'd, wrong box
  • Odd LZ/RP placement (too far) and some odd markers
  • CAS was...warm (both a pro and a con)

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Villmarsson.L
Specialist DeBeen.N
Specialist Sawyer.H
Corporal Terp.J
Corporal Nomad.P

Pros:
  • Ambitious mission design, excellent brief
  • Helocasts were a nice change of pace for insert to AO3
  • Challenging AOs due to tree coverage made ISR / target ident tricky
  • Great coordination within birds and flight as a group
  • A Co was excellent in support without taking over op. Covered each other well, enemy lost large amounts of assets
  • No blue on blue, 1 bird lost (ARMA issue) cargo box bounced, had to detonate have Raider follow up to finish off.
Cons:
  • BluFor tracker was spotty some units showed up others didn't and couldn't mark anything? Cause unknown.
  • Ground element got bogged down in AO1 however flow of element(s) improved from 1 to 2 to 3.
  • Got wrong supply boxes for some Buffalo's?
  • Air drop supplies into A0 was largely pointless

Pros:
  • Chill operation, fun with CAT with no blacktags.
  • Fun with the heli drop into water
  • Good amount of surgery
  • Really solid work from the CLS in all the squads
Cons:
  • FPS issues
  • Android issues, was only able to see 1 and 2 + CHAOS.
  • Make sure not to call last man before all in as we almost got left behind.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Bandit-6
Element Leader: First Lieutenant Sam.T

Pros:

  • The first two raids were carried out within the prescribed time frame in the OPORD. The platoon did not exceed 10 minutes from initial contact to breaking contact from the OBJ. It's excellent to see, considering how frequently "raids" turn into prolonged assaults in our operations.
  • Both objectives were met, with the destruction of OPFOR forces on objective and all supplies secured or destroyed to prevent use.
  • Excellent individual squad initiative, maneuvering as appropriate to effectively manage threats.
  • HELOCAST was done excellently, especially considering the last-minute nature.
  • All three objectives were hit, and the OP was allowed to take what time it took. With most of our monthly ops being WFW, it was fantastic to take that extra time to complete all objectives and do things "properly."

Cons:
  • Time on post-assault RP at OBJ 1 was very excessive. This had multiple factors, such as indecision amongst leadership and issues with platoon resupply. This led to us taking contact on the RP and the LZ that was nearby.
  • In my planning, I tried to rotate which squad was point on each objective to ensure a more even amount of contact for each squad. Judging by individual AARs, this was not successful.
  • Resupply was dubious, with one being incorrect equipment and the second suffering from an "arma-ism" and KO'ing one of our helicopters. (The composition has been fixed since then on the back end.)

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Bandit-5
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Berg.J

Pros:

  • The pacing was good, the platoon didn't seem to get bogged down or hold at one place for longer than needed.
  • Flexing was good, I got to learn how the infantry is so adaptive.
  • Atlas could be found anywhere I turned my head to.

Cons:

  • Issues with the resupplies, mostly my responsibility. It was a very interesting first outing as 5.
