Pros:

  • Good communication
  • Good use of drones and huntIR
  • Good Succession in command when we had downed Leadership.
  • Everyone had a lot of fun
Cons:

  • We did not have a fast enough reaction to indirect fire, not reacting or moving in the same spot.
  • Felt rushed in the chaos like we had to move in that moment when getting attacked or mid objective.
    • This is a pro in my mind^

Specialist Rodahl.S

Pros
Excellent OPORD, and excellent execution of the plan. Abate should definitely 6 more often.
Excellent work from Rodahl picking up the slack for Viking-5 and being incredibly attentive to vehicle status and developing vehicle movement plans.
A very tense environment, with very well executed ambushes by Godfather. A very immersive and engaging 'Tug of War' with us being put on the back foot, being flanked and being able to persevere
Everyone present today were on their A-game, no exceptions.
The absolute gold standard for vehicle work and continuous mechanised infantry assaults.
Ran past the typical runtime to close out an objective and convoy RTB.

Cons
Little transport tasking for Bison, but fortunately it sounds like Chaos had some tasking for them.
Initial technical issues, dumping quite of users (~19) from out of the server. Has been a recurring issue as of late.

Pros:

  • What an absolute blast of an OP, everyone in Viking-2 had a good time! Most excellent to push Bravo troop into MOUT work and CQB instead of engaging at extended ranges!
  • Excellent succession of command and picking up the slack when we encountered casualties.
  • Fantastic buddy aid and self-aid, excellent CLS handoffs to Atlas, and Atlas was "Johnny on the spot" getting to us when we needed it!
  • Great job by V5 with vehicle refit and resupply...we never wanted for anything for more than a minute.
  • On-point CQB and MOUT work by the squad and the platoon as a whole...and I'm sure the support assets got their hands a little dirty as well seeing how we had quite the areas to cover with only 2 squads.
  • Had an extra trooper attached to the squad so I fraggo'd him to V6 to be a dedicated drone operator and he was able to provide real-time ISR info to 6.
  • All Sierra crews were absolute monsters tonight and from what I heard the Convoy net was a magical place with never-ending cookies and rainbows and stuff....
Cons:

  • React to IDF was .... pretty damn poor. This is becoming a noticeable problem as of late across all 1-7 coys and we need to train the lackadaisical behavior towards incoming shells out our mentality.
  • The server ping kicks are becoming a problem. 18-20 people got kicked all at the same time just as we were about to step off. This has to be a server issue, not a setting issue.
  • There were more than 1 bad frags tossed during CQB tonight. None caused a casualty but that is one unlucky bounce away from a Mas-cas.
  • It was mentioned that the RC'ing of AI tonight felt a bit more extra than usual...even as far as feeling a bit like PVP.
SL Notes: What a fantastic OP with an excellent squad! Leadership was on point, everyone seemed to bring their A-game and it really showed in how hard a fight we brought with mid-tier turnout.

Warrant Officer 1 Bloggins.R "Houston"

Pros:
  • Excellent mission concept and execution. Had a really good time.
  • Excellent OPORD (except for the difference between Buffalo and Bison designations, but those are just minor details, plus we had the cool hedgehog in the Ray-Bans to offset that error).
  • Excellent Leadership briefing. Fun yet quite professional.
  • Very cinematic and sexy view of our amazing ground forces from our aerial vantage point, especially since we were mainly doing ISR the whole time.
Cons:
  • BISON missiles and/or lasing continues to be a very vexing problem, as they have been recently, which is something we Alpha Co. experts need to figure out. Maybe not a complete solution but at least a workaround fix. I honestly don't get it; They work in editor fine, and in TacR fine, just not in our Official OPs. Either a problem with the laser or a problem with the allowable missiles (which used to be a lot more available options)... just not sure. It's very weird cause it worked great last week some, but then other times it didn't. And then on top of the Hellfire issues, I tried with APKs and DAGRs but they wouldn't even fire. Literally, weapon was selected, target acquired/lased, and I'm pushing the pickle switch, but the APKs and DAGRs simply would not fire. Haven't really seen that before so it's just very weird. We need to figure this out... super frustrating.
  • BISON-1 PIC initially asked for FRIES system to be installed and 36.6 ropes included to inventory, but it was not. I totally understand that this was an oversight, but I mention this because for a re-insert, V5 specifically asked us about about a fast-rope insert, but since we didn't have it, we couldn't deliver in that way. I suggest we just add fries capability by default with ropes since it is always there if you need it. It costs virtually nothing in terms of weight/cargo/inventory/performance. But it is there when needed as contingency and we don't have to unduly distract Godfather while they are doing their job. We need this system before we leave the ground.
  • Very few re-inserts for a >2 hour Warfare Wednesday. I guess we just didn't have any respawns other than the two (2)??? Or maybe the medical system has changed or maybe Atlas really does wear capes ;-)
  • No resupply or logistics taskings.
  • Not exactly a huge fan of this map.

Element Callsign: CHAOS

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Warrant Officer 1 Grizzle.M

Pros:
  • Very cool mission idea and scope
  • Good responsive comms from RAIDER and BISON
  • Great initiative from Grizzle.M to shadow me during op
Cons:
  • Large networking disconnect at step off
  • Lost LIGHTNING, Villmarsson.L was unable to come back.
  • Without SEAD and CAP capability, had to ask GODFATHER to dial back the SAM and Red Air threats.
  • Minor TFAR issues with Grizzle.M 's reception of air assets, backpack swap fixed it
  • Extremely narrow permitted flight area, unsuitable for fixed wing
  • Lost connection during 1st objective, when I attempted to reconnect got a server message "Due to how this server is configured, you will not be able to reconnect for 2034 seconds". That's 34 minutes, lol. Since it was 0115 local, that was the end of the Op for me. Zaren.T can we please look into this? Why would returning players be even blocked from rejoining for such extensive amounts of time?
  • The above forced inexperienced Grizzle.M to take over as CHAOS without notice, very stressful situation.
  • Didn't get to see most of Abate.L 's debut as -6 :(

Element Callsign: Raider-1
Element Leader: Major Dread.M "Retread"

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Spitnale.K "Corporal"

Pros:

  • Any Op with Raider is a good OP for A Co
  • Target rich environment
  • Good coordination between ground and Raider
  • Light flank screening always fun
Cons:
  • Buddy laser designating with Bison wasn't working well
  • Placing BMPs with wire guided mounted on the barrel or the 9P135 missile launcher mounted to the top is cheat mode for AI. The missiles track air targets even when LOS is broke. Had to run several of them into the ground to protect airframe.
