Pros:
  • Good Squad Communication
  • Overall, a very good response to KAT Medical
  • KAT didn't seem too overwhelming for the average trooper, excluding Cons below
  • 90's Gear was a fun concept
  • Thanks to the people on the backend who put together KAT in testing! Looking forward to seeing more of it.
Cons:
  • Kits lacked proper medical equipment (Should be mitigated outside of a 90's Op)
  • CLS didn't have perms to apply Chest Seals
  • Individuals could not monitor their own breathing audibly
  • If there is a modifier to slow SpO2 loss, it might be good to dial it back.
  • Op was a little long and slow (Unavoidable due to server crash)
  • Lack of contact

Pros:
  • Great environment love 90s Operations.
  • Atlas teams had good medical work, experimenting with KAT was fun.
  • Ton of casualties and contacts were significantly harder love it.
  • 60+ players on server is fantastic and awesome to see.
Cons:
  • Public player groups being disrespectful and inappropriate on server. Few instances where few individuals were insulting our members for making mistakes during medical learning.
  • Kat and 90s operation shouldn't be together, trying experimental medical system with era that limits our equipment and overall normal gear is a little too much.
  • Grid coordinates provided by squads off with information, led to squads/medics getting lost.
  • Platoon movement seemed off at certain points Atlas teams were to be escorted at times and were abandoned by the squads they were heading to.

Pros:
  • As 90's kids we appreciate 90's ops, it allows us to complain about kit we used to have and how much better/worse it was.
  • Good Brief
  • Good mix of Public + AD/DB
  • 60+ players is great, had 1 crash but it was quickly resolved. Hats off to S3
Cons:
  • Kat / 90s not a great idea to roll out together, new med system + kit is ambitious but asking too much?
  • Had issues with server from time to time, glitches, rubber banding.
  • Hatchets were very tempermental, eventually settled out but had a lot of glitches/snags.

Pros:
  • Fun
    • Lots of fun
      • Everyone had fun
  • Theme/Era
    • It shocks me how little of this era we do vs. how much people love it
    • Give me MORE
  • Pacing
    • Despite new medical, pacing was consistant
    • Lull in combat used to consolidate because of time period communication
  • Battle Drills
    • Training still shines through even with technological disadvantages
  • Community Outreach
    • Count on one hand how often we see other groups join us
  • Platoon Communication
    • Clear and accurate
    • Less radios = Better traffic
  • Atlas & Bandit-7
    • All medical personell killed it tonight!
    • Their training and expertise gave us a fighting chance with the new KAT system

Cons:
  • Casualties
    • Tons of casualties and down-time with each engagement
    • A number of factors made it an incredibly difficult operation to stack different things together
      • KAT introduction
      • 90's body armor
      • Difficult enemy (Too Accurate?)
      • Communication (of casualties)
  • Planning
    • Would've like to see more rigid planning for at least Plan A
    • FRAGOs are significantly harder given the time to distribute information and conduct that attack/movmement/etc.
    • Gimmie those phase lines and clearing lanes!
  • Crash
    • Sucks it happened but good recovery

Pros:
  • Buffalo was absolutely amazing tonight with ISR and CAS support as well a NUMEROUS reinsert runs and logistics tasking! Always a pleasure being PSG when Buffalo is involved!
  • Comms over Platoon net were fairly solid all night long, less radios = more good....good job to all the RTO's out there!
  • KAT medical seemed to have an overall positive reception...despite a challenging test bed.
  • Good turnout by Public/other Units
Cons:
  • Navigation was pretty terrible tonight....even with 6 digit grids elements just seemed lost. I personally Black tagged tonight DESPITE calling 7 as soon as I heard my breath sounds change, delivering an 8-digit grid, being with M4 (who did not have a CLS) at their position which was marked on the map, I just sat in a trench and died....as I was surrounded by people who could do nothing about it.
  • The CLS role is VITAL in KAT medical as far as survivability goes. If that role isn't filled by trained/experienced personnel with proper perms IN EVERY SQUAD then squad effectiveness will be severely hindered and the bodies will just stack up.
Improves
  • If we invite outside units to join our operations we should provide a briefing to them as to our protocols, i.e. how our callsigns work, chain of command, briefing and AAR procedures, etiquette in TS during briefing and in game.

Pros:
  • 90s era gear! Always welcome, always fun!
  • Good cooperation with Dujakovic.R running REAPER.
  • Great to see visitors out in force!
  • Zeus very helpful in fixing any issues.
  • Great and quick save from the server crash.
Cons:
  • JTAC kit not to spec. Laser designator blacklisted (deleted from inv even when Zeus put it there manually, had to pick up from ground).
  • A lot of downtime, especially around Bandit-4.
  • Platoon leadership seemed indecisive at times.
  • While I don't think we gave best showing possible, the guest units were audibly annoyed and disrespectful with "hurry up and wait" aspects.
  • Weird TFAR issue - I was audible 5/5 to REAPER, but his speech was low and garbled as soon as I moved 50m+ away from him. I had line of sight to him and he was elevated (3-story roof bunker on NE side of FOB), within 1km, and still comms were garbage. We had to resort to him sending me reports on mobile WhatsApp.
  • Zaren.T - There's a weird audio bug with audio directionality, especially noticeable with hovering choppers - if you turn your back on the chopper, it goes virtually silent, 50% volume when to the side of me and 100% when facing. It's very pronounced when you're close to a wall, a corner of a building, but sometimes also out in the open.

I wonder if this directionality modifier doesn't also affect radio reception somehow, it could explain the radio weirdness with REAPER tonight (e.g. if him or myself were facing away from each other and this "modifier" applied to our "directional" speech transmitted via the radio).

Pros:

  • KAT Medical was super fun.
  • Retro-era operations bring folks back to the basics regarding fundamental skills like land-nav.
  • Good communication with -7 despite the RTO bottleneck.
  • Excellent rebound from the server crash.
Cons:
  • There were fewer casualties at the beginning of the OP (Atlas-2 grabbed most of them).
  • Loadout/arsenal issues for the CLS.
  • Server crash.
  • Difficulty with platoon maneuvering and communication with the supported platoon.
  • Some issues with public players during the operation (handled after the fact).
