Pros:
  • After the first OBJ ATLAS-1 had a decent amount of contact and medical needs
  • Good contact reports
  • Awesome to see HAMMER-1 in action from afar
Cons:
  • Lots of walking between the objects
  • Low amount of medical work for two full ATLAS teams

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Private First Class Brawl.B (IR)
Corporal Kastor.K (TV)
Private First Class Mason.H (CHAOS-1)

Pros:
  • Lots and lots of targets!
  • Good comms and crew coordination
  • Fun time!
  • Very good translation of calls to fires
  • NO BLUE ON BLUE
Cons:
  • Radio brevity needs improvements, but better that than rushing and hitting the wrong things
  • Some technical issues, some on server side, some on client side
  • Still have technical bug in Hammer with laser ranging between shots, limiting how many weapons can fire and how often
  • Felt there was some misplaced tasking and responsibilities

Element Callsign: Buffalo Flight (1,2,3,4)
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Thumper.N "Justicar" (Buffalo-1 Pilot)

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Major Dread.M "Retread" (Buffalo-3 Pilot)
Sergeant Major Schmidt.A (Buffalo-2 Crew Chief)
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sparrow.P "Pinball" (Buffalo-2 Pilot)
Warrant Officer 1 Grizzle.M "Popper" (Buffalo-1 Crew Chief)
Warrant Officer 1 Spitnale.K "Corporal" (Buffalo-3 Crew Chief)
Warrant Officer 1 Bloggins.R "Houston" (Buffalo-4 Crew Chief)
Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C "Hooker" (Buffalo-4 Co-Pilot) [S1 Note: This Trooper is currently ELOA]
Private First Class Sawyer.H (Buffalo-4 Pilot)

Pros:
  • A moderate amount of work to do.
  • At one point Buffalo-1 was the only active aircraft and had to do 3 back-to-back hot extract/inserts; good amount of fire suppression during that time.
  • Crews did have fun when there was work to do generally.
Cons:
  • Mission OIC created flight plan, created HA's, and LZs etc. which is contrary to SOP, and should be completed by the Flight Leader; HA's, routing, etc. was contrary to SOP in going over MSRs, cities, etc. LZ's can certainly be requested by the OIC, but several designated were on slopes at too steep a grade to land on; the pilots know what they can and cannot land on, having that decision removed did not help.
  • Ground teams were advising last man when we weren't last man.
  • At one point, as the PIC I called for quiet in the aircraft, to which someone replied "shouldn't you be on the crew comms". I don't know who it was, but as the PIC (or even a 2LT), if I call for quiet in the aircraft...that should be the end of the discussion; for some reason we seem to be moving away from the Pilot is in command of their aircraft and I'm not sure why.
  • Misfit-5 at one point advised that Buffalo should no longer come in as flights of 2 ships but only 4; this isn't up to Misfit-5, especially if we have downed aircraft, what ship goes where is up to the flight leader...in coordination with 5, but again the end decision is up to the flight leader, indeed even the PIC of the specific ship.
  • Too much micro management of Buffalo, effectively making Misfit-5 the flight leader making all aviation decisions...this isn't a thing. Misfit-5 coordinates with the Flight Leader, and makes requests, they do not control the flight/aircraft.
  • Engineer perms should be automatic with tool kits to crew, I thought this had been done, but apparently wasn't...will follow up with CoC.
  • FRIES and ropes need to be automatic to start in the ships, this would have been a fix for some of these steep LZs.

Pros:
  • Good OP...seek and destroy is always a fun mission set.
  • Great work by 5 and 6 tonight...solid leadership got the job done.
  • The new CLS perms saved a life tonight...a welcome change.
  • Fantastic aggression by the fireteams when we did encounter contact, great BMP kill by the squad
  • Good small team tactics on display within M1
  • As SL I got to work out maneuvers with M2 SL...empowering Unit leaders is...to quote LT Sam...Pog.
Cons:
  • We had some internal comms issues within the squad...a little too much chatter on squad net.
  • Maybe a little too much body Armor on the Wagner guys...They are super tanky.

Non-7th Cavalry Within Element:
  • Alsasalsa

Pros:
  • Overall Enjoyment
  • Good Squad Drills
    • Movement
    • Reactions to contact
    • Urban Clearing
  • EPWs
    • Nice last minute addition
  • Route Interactions
    • Things to do while en-route
    • More of this please!
  • Packing Plan
    • Handling prior to loading in was solid
    • Hope to see more pre-planning like this
  • Platoon Contact Reports
    • Felt like a training on the 3 D's
  • Aimless Wandering Mission Accomplished

Cons:
  • Packing Plan Execution
    • Birds overfilled
    • Chalk leaders in other birds
  • Contact Distribution
    • Extreme Distances hampered engaging engagements
    • Very few fighters actually seen
    • Most contact were Wagner which felt odd considering the OP framing
  • Way Over Time
    • Server Crash
    • Internal/External issues from pilots
      • Note: This is not a dig at the pilots who did admirably considering their issues but these issues did increase time in-mission
    • Walking Distance / Interactions with minimal time remaining
    • Main Objective not completed or even reached

Element Callsign: Misfit-6
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Bethea.A

Pros:
  • Platoon comms were good. Was able to maintain a mental picture of the situation throughout the Op due to frequent check ins from SLs.
  • For what tasking was available, Bandit Platoon had good execution.
  • Security was excellent despite it being night, the intermittent pacing of contact, and extreme ranges. I personally observed several instances of Bandit troopers calling out targets 800m+ distant in the opposite direction of their movement.
  • Infantry portion of step off was achieved on time.
  • Buffalo flight was on the deck for a minimal amount of time during the Platoon's redeployment despite some chaos in coordination.
  • Op concept was interesting and challenging.
  • Hammer go brrr.
Cons:
  • Aviation had some difficulties throughout the evening. Rotary experienced several Arma-isms and Hammer was slow in execution on calls for fire leading to some casualties among the infantry.
  • We did not have anyone in the Reaper slots which were somewhat critical to the mission.
  • Due to the aforementioned issue with Reaper and combined with the mountainous terrain, the AO was of an unmanageable size for someone with my limited experience.
