Element Callsign: Atlas 1

Pro:
Good comms with team and with 7
Op pace was good
No black tags
Any treatment that was done was done effectively

Con:
A battle-eye kick of our surgeon was annoying
Some kit issues
Getting started took a little while
Air drop ground check in was very poor needs a set response and reminder for people to re quick in check ins once on ground
Number 4 slot in atlas should load in with the surgeon kit
2-3 stage Ops are really fun but with Cav op culture its assumed that ops are gonna be 2 hours max
Medical boxes are start in vics need correct box with all Ace pharm stuff

Element Callsign: Infidel-1
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Nate "Justicar" Thumper

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pro:
  • New FAC Keyhole procedures worked swimmingly.
  • Plenty of CAS calls.
  • I called in two Danger Close fire missions within 100m of my position, while TIC by myself, and killed an enemy fire team alone; shows the amazing flexibility with the new CAS Cribs, and I lived which is a bonus.
  • While I was focused on the CAS calls, apparently there was fire near me that almost set me on fire, thankfully it didn't.
Con:
  • Mission scope was a little large, we didn't get to the second objective or the third.

Recruit Gutierrez.E (Passed Boot camp before OP)

Pros:

  • Good squad and small team tactics
  • Good comms in Platoon and Squad
  • Good adaption of the plan when there were multiple new units than planned for and good adaption of it during the course of the operation.
  • Good use of force multipliers (240, MAAWS, etc..)
  • Good static line drop of vehicles and players, players were really on point before and after the drop so it went smoothly(only 1 in stick was wounded but it was due to trouble with the game itself).

Cons:
  • 2x Friendly fire incidents, 2x troopers almost black tagged on DZRP Alpha by 50.Cal and on the 2nd objective where we got hit by mk19 canister rounds in our rear.
  • Could have pre-planned for an SBF element, I could probably have been more active in detaching my teams sending them to other squads as SBF elements.
  • Bush fire and flares cause massive lag for some troopers.

Element Callsign: Lightning Flight
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Jeran "Binks" Berg - Lightning 1

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Chief Warrant Officer 2 William "Scooter" Sutodoreh - Lightning 2

Pro:
  • New FAC SOPs are working very well, with strong improvement in ease of use.
  • Great number of FW slots and a lot for FW to do. I speak for the rest of my section's pilots when I say we are very appreciative of the mission design.

Con:
  • Combat Air Patrol aircraft need to scramble and be in the air before any other airframe, in conjunction with SEAD.
  • Runways were not marked with landing lights - Need to work with pilots on ILS landings.
  • USAF mod missiles are switching targets very frequently and with a very wide cone, minor issue that we can work around.

Element Callsign: Buffalo-2

Specialist Grizzle.M

Pros:

Good mission design and briefing
Good job adjusting to kit and supply box issues
Good job by leadership shuffling elements before start to ensure best mix of Misfit elements based on attendance.

Cons:

1hr 15min in before moving into position for initial assault - much too long
Loadout issues which A Co 1st Platoon will be looking to resolve this weekend - also supply boxes need to be on the support aircraft Buffalo(s) or nearby
Lack of pace at the start which spilled over, needs to improve and get off to a better start next time otherwise the tires come off

Pros:
  • Excellent mission design... very creative.
  • Great teamwork from Rotary Assets.
  • Nice that we are finally committing to 5 coordinating transport/reinsert/resupply etc. instead of Infidel.
  • Ground Forces dismounted the helo very quickly.... Bird was able to lift in mere seconds. Outstanding.
  • Nice to have Airdrop and Air Assault.
  • Quite a bold mission size/scope.... however, I think it may have worked out better if this had been broken up or as part of a multi-phase campaign.

Cons:
  • Pre-designed and placed ammo crates with a "buffet" of some of everything is preferable to pilots having to shop "grocery lists" of individual items. Don't get me wrong, we don't mind doing it at all, however, it GREATLY delays our response times, for the resupply itself AND for any eventuality that may arise, such as CSAR or CASEVAC, QRF etc. And obviously I mean that they should be separated into individual crates i.e. Ammo Crate, Medical Crate, Special Crate, Explosives Crate, etc. etc. This would GREATLY expedite Buffalo's taskings.
  • Unnecessary comms and lack of brevity resulted in LR02 being overly saturated. LR02 is for Aviation CTAF. To the maximum extent possible, comms on LR02 need to be abbreviated with brevity in mind.
  • Quite a long time from launch until things really got going.
  • Unfortunately, we didn't have enough Alpha Co. members present to fully crew birds, not nearly, so it was essentially 1 pilot per bird. Obviously we managed, but it's just always nice to fly with some crew on board.

Pros:

  • Good squad cohesion, communication, and fireteam clearing
  • Obstacle callouts and usage of additional tools, like wire cutters
  • Felt that the paradrop went pretty smooth, to include the notification of skipped numbers in flight when folks got kicked by the server
  • Squad lane deconfliction and PID callouts
  • Overall fun mission!

Cons:
  • First objective after leaving the DZRP was a bit messy
  • Objective markings were on point and super detailed, but the movement markings to said objectives were lacking
