Pro:
Server handled really well
Was very much enjoyed by all
Plenty of medical to do which comes from the type of era
Stewart and his box
Throwing lucander in a helo for medevac
Good banter during the downtime
One of the most enjoyed Operaitons in quite a while
Exciting firefights
RTOs make a really good change
Land Nav was also a good change
First LZ was really enjoyed

Con:s:
Lost Platoon medic half way which lead to MSG.Maco.D taking PM duties
Platoon was scattered at times
Side chat used to much instead of using radio comms that set
Comms with Platoon Medic was hard to reach at times
Towards the end comms started to break down both platoon and comms to Atlas.
Some Comms issues within Atlas 1 near the end with some choices that led to avoidable injuries.

Non-7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Hot LZs for insertions gave a lot of work to door gunners.
  • Multiple inserts for the beginning led to a lot of work for Buffalo.
  • Good comms for aviation and inter-ship communication.
  • Successful CSAR of Thunder-2.
  • Successful auto rotation into the juggle, with no black tags, and I personally managed to kill 3 infantry while on the ground.
Cons:
  • RTOs seemed very overwhelmed and there was a severe lack of communication with the infantry.
    • This was a primary cause for Buffalo-1 orbiting the AO, which lead to being shot by a manpad and eventual auto rotation.
  • UH-1's power to weight ratio is very poor when fully loaded.

Element Callsign: INFIDEL 1 and LOKI 1
Element Leader: Priest.V

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Priest.V @ Rave (?)

PROs:

CAS Calls for the most part went very well and were faster than would normally happen giiven all reversionary methods used only.
Lots of opportunities for CAS
Good balance of activities and use enemy force numbers

CONs:
Too many smokes being utilised by eveery trooper led to making it very difficult to correlate targets with Air Craft
INFIDEL needs a specific smoke colour only for INFIDEL and maybe 6/SLs to carry a few for emergencies via INFIDEL
Some Infantry callsigns seemed to displace and move off without any notification or orders? Initially at the LZ was very difficult to nearly impossible to safely call in CAS due to unknown Friendly locations and unable to get a clear picture from anyone
More refinement on reversionary CAS by aviation and INFIDEL probably needed would have made iit more comfortable

Pros:

  • Lots of fun
  • LOTS of kills
  • No known blue on blue despite some EXTREME close calls for fire
  • Good comms from Infidel
Cons:

  • Radio discipline -- need to be saying "Break" or "Over" or something if intend to continue transmitting
  • Smoke discipline, infidel may need their own smoke colour?
  • blacking out ;) Villmarsson.L

Pros:
  • Communications/ maneuver issues seemed to resolve as time went on
  • Platoon was able to get a grip on casualty situations to prevent mass black tag events multiple times
  • LZ security was held despite receiving large volumes of fire.
  • air support/artillery support was surgical
  • Squad level formation and formation transitions were flawless near latter part
  • Last objective was taken via a platoon feint, whether intentionally or not. M-3 feinted from the west where all of the firepower focused whilst 1 and 2 assaulted from the opposite flank/L-shaped assault - both reducing their incoming fire and allowing them to have an edge on the defenders of the position. Whilst M-3 took minor casualties, we retreated from our assault position still combat effective and under fire superiority from enemy whilst 1 and 2 finished on the target position.
Cons:
-staging area comms discipline and unnecesary comms at largely populated positions drowns out important comms and slows us down - we should seek to cut down on this chatter.

-majority of issues were communications but once we gained flow we worked well with comunicating in ways we dont usually

-LZ actions disorganized and led to fumbling over each other - could have planned around this to better position platoon on securing the LZ

- BLUE ON BLUE possibly because of fixating on contact outside of our sectors.

- echo commands could use improvement - lead to casualties and overextension

-taking casualties whilst in the open self aiding - we need to win the fight or we mount the casualties and then we really cant fight

-uncertain actions on LZ -left alot to be assumed - briefing left out actions/execution details that could have aided with maneuvering and lining up parallel units.

  • Ton of medical to do with challenge of time period limitations

Cons:
  • RTO lost kit with resupply
  • Lack of communications with 7
  • Cliff climb was a nightmare
  • Getting cut off due to injuries/red tags and squad moving without cover

Non-7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

  • Extremely fun mission, underscore EXTREMELY fun mission.
  • Well done mission maker/controllers/zeuses/and all leaders!
  • Amazing turnout with amazing talent across the board. Great performance from all.
  • Server performance/FPS was much better for me than last SOG PF go around, especially given the huge turnout/player count.
  • Aviation comms were great, CTAF and ship to ship.
  • Great CSAR response/coordination.
  • Appreciate all troopers understanding and patience that UH-1 does not have near Blackhawk power. Pilots have to be very focused and deliberate when we are at or near gross weight due to the power to weight ratio, so things just take a little more time. It's simply a different aircraft from a different time that is extremely challenging to fly artistically when at or near full gross weight.
Cons:
  • "All in" and "Last Man" calls need to be made by the leader, whoever that is, in a singular manner. I know I harp on this all the time, but John Q. Whoever just yelling it out leads to problems, as we've seen, which is why I'm now quickly verbally challenging to confirm these callouts before lifting. The LEADER, whoever that is, makes this call.
  • Banter and chat in aircraft rear-cabin needs to be mission related and non-essential comms minimized so that Aircrew can work to assure safe and effective transport in the most expeditious manner possible. ESPECIALLY during our critical phases of flight- Takeoff and Landing. At the 30 Second command, all non-aircrew and comms need to stop immediately. Aircrew are always working with multiple radios and the aircraft intercom, so anything not absolutely necessary needs to be dispensed with, because this chatter is stepping on aviation/aircrew comms.
  • No extract at endex, which I'm always pointing out for realism's sake. I view a successful mission as ---> we have to actually have to make it home. In this case, however, omitting this was at least understandable for several reasons.
  • Change of OP time- I planned IRL work/life/etc. around this event, so this last minute change threw everything off for me (time/money/plans).
  • Please be mindful of our established ROE and standards of conduct. Some commentary was made on this mission that could easily be seen as highly offensive since we are a global organization with lots of races and ethnicities etc. We are all friends here so this is a friendly reminder.

Pros:
  • dudes had a fantastic time
  • Echoed orders, still can be better but 75% echo
  • Loved the lack of technology
  • M79 is king
  • good Alpha and bravo FT
  • Squad was on its A game
  • Teamwork
  • Well lead
  • M60 king
  • rocked at the LZ
  • Fix bayonets prepare to defend yourselves
  • 3D's called out a lot
  • We took that last objective
Cons:
  • I should have left a contingency plan for squad CCP
  • I did not clarify orders to Zaren and his FT at lz which got him killed (sounds of battle too loud for yelling)
  • one fire team got separated and killed
  • I said the smoke colors over radio which led to enemy using colored smoke
  • Lots of back and fourth movement due to orders and cancelled fire missions
  • Almost FF by IDF or CAS on last obj
