Platoon movements was stop and go which resulted big bunch of through out the platoon.
Terrible mas mass handling by squads

Element Callsign: Buffalo-1
Element Leader: Specialist Nate "Justicar" Thumper

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Paul "Slick" Alexander (Temporary Buffalo-4)

Pros:
  • Great work by all aviation units, everyone was excellent in their performance of their role and teamwork.
    • Comms were great
    • Utilization of rotary assets was good, though with some down time, but that's to be expected at times.
    • Drones did great as well, nice to have ISR completed by drones rather than Buffalo.
Cons:
  • None

Pro:
Great map
Pretty good reaction to calls for aid
Team enjoyed the op
Good amount of medical work
Great defense of LZ when Atlas-1 and Misfit-4 were left behind

Con:
Lost Atlas-2 during MCI
Platoon movement was a mess
Got left behind at LZ
Platoon moved much to quickly at times leaving Atlas-1 behind when trying to secure a CCP and work on multiple red casualties

Pros:
  • Squad movement was good overall.
  • Radios inside of squad was solid.
  • Overall mission was successful with all three HVTs being extracted.

Cons:
  • RP 1 to RP 4 couldve been WP instead of RPs due to just moving right through them
  • MISFIT-2 moved into our lane at the start of the assault causing some confusion throughout the platoon
  • PZ Echo security was horrid, when MISFIT-1 arrived behind the other two squads we walked into enemies within 5 meters of other friendlies causing some chaos
  • Platoon radio was a bit messy overall with communication being all over the place at some points
  • Last objective movement with the platoon was a messed up with the danger crossing not being called up causing a rush to get to the final objective

Pro:
Good squad comms, good time with squad members.

Con:
Heavy Weapons are heavily under utilized
Not a lot of contact, excessive down time
Mobile ZSU weapon system seemed overpowered
Platoon movement was a mess
Platoon disorganized, bad spacing as well.
Got left behind at LZ
Squad Lead did not understand commander's intent
Last Objective seemed hastily put together
Platoon Lines should be utilized and do LOA at end of manoeuvres.

Element Callsign: Reaper Flight
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Jeran "Binks" Berg - Reaper 1

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Roman Dujakovic - Reaper 2

Pros:
  • Great communications all around. Very efficient interfacing between Reaper flight, Buffalo flight and Infidel.
  • Scope and scale of the mission was different. Different is good.
  • Drones performed well in their specific support role.
Cons:
  • Slight technical issues at the halfway mark.

Element Callsign: Misfit HQ
Element Leader:
Colonel LaCombe.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Captain Burton.P
Sergeant Sam.T
Specialist Hilberg.A

Pros:
  • Mission accomplished with zero HVT KIA
  • Good CQB
  • Once contact was initiated, the platoon responded well and pushed through
Cons:
  • Buffalos left on the ground too long at PZs
  • Disorganized, "slinky-like" platoon movement between various squads
  • LOAs not adhered to, directly leading to a near squad wipe
  • Last objective not disclosed until the operation was otherwise nearly completed, forcing a hastily made plan and seemed very "tacked on"

Element Leader: Sergeant Sam.T

Pros

  • Good communication from Atlas teams.
  • A handful of properly formatted MEDEVAC 6-Lines, these are always good to practice.
  • Excellent prep time from Atlas teams. PCPs/PCIs were completed and teams staged before Infantry had moved to their birds.
Cons
  • Abysmal handling of mass-casualty incidents.
  • Squads extending past LOA leading to an MCI beyond the mutual support of other squads and Atlas teams.
  • A breakdown in Comms lead to an Atlas team being brought beyond the LOA by a trooper, directly leading to the loss of said medical team in the MCI.
  • Reported refusal of troopers to return to CCPs for treatment, despite the emphasis placed on CASEVAC during the brief and established platoon CCPs.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Buffalo-2
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C "Hooker"

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:

  • Great leadership from BUFFALO-1 Flight Lead- Thumper.N .
  • Great planning and flight routing by BUFFALO-1 Flight Lead Thumper.N
  • Extremely well done OPORD.
  • Outstanding initial insert by BUFFALO Flight.
  • Ship to ship comms were great as were comms with ground.
  • Exfil at ENDEX.... very nicely done.
Cons:
  • BUFFALOS were on the ground too long. Troopers need to make their way to the helos or get off the helos or get the logistics out of the helicopter in an expeditious manner, as Blackhawk is a huge, loud target. Just think of what Arnold said, "Get to the choppaaaaa!!!!!!!!"
