7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
7th Cavalry Retirement Home:

Pros:
  • Squad members enjoyed the operation.
  • Good engagements and blocking of enemy Vehicles and Infantry from reaching the town and friendly forces.
  • The teams were really effective considering we were only 4 in our squad.
  • Ammo was used efficiently considering no re-supplies.
  • Good Comms with Misfit platoon over LR.

Cons:
  • Resupplies, Ammo sustainment were bad, considering the size of the enemy we were meeting and the length of the operation. this caused us to get stuck in our positions for a while. We also went black on ammo and we had to look for and pick up enemy ammo to continue the fighting.
  • Missed Access to essential weapon squad equipment, such as M3 MAAWS, the vanilla one did not allow us to use iron sight and we also missed the 240/MG tripod.
  • The Starting Area/Staging Zone was following soldiers around and was notified of this at the end of the operation.

Pros:
  • Good fun.
    • Had a pretty decent light show from AP STORM.
  • Very good SITREPS from all the Squads.
    • All squads gave very good SITREPS, allowing leadership to make decisions on the fly and also when COC broke down.
    • Very tidy and two the point.
  • Awesome flexibility by Bison-3.
    • We had a missed LZ, but Bison-3 was able to understand the mistake and pick up all the pacs.
    • Trying to do resupplies inspired some challenges but informed 5 of the situation.
    • Bison-3 was able to use different nets to deal with their problems.

Cons:
  • Weird communications errors on LR14.
    • Either deliberate or due to Acre issues.
    • Missing response on LR14.
  • Late insert.
    • Two birds left without Greenlight.
    • Tried to call back two birds for the leftovers, by 15 pacs. One bird came back with room for 10 - granted the other one crashed.
    • Could do with attack birds being on LR14 for the initial insert so it is coordinated.

Pros:
  • Everyone had fun.
  • Teamwork on point.
  • Comms were great.
  • Running with new guys is always nice.
  • Rescue mission on Misfit 3 was awesome. 6 made the right call breaking contact and called everyone back to save our guys, also for honor and glory on the battlefield. Best thing I did on the Cav lately.

Cons:
  • Start was a complete mess. Atlas had no medical perms and loadouts were at minimum not ideal
  • Insert for atlas took way too long, we were receiving medical calls while still on the base.
  • Atlas 2 and 7 inserted on the wrong place.
  • Unit cohesion could improve.

  • Dr.Weird

Pros:
  • The squad worked well together and generally meshed amazingly.
  • Intra and Inter-squad communication was solid tonight.
  • Solid leadership tonight!
  • Amazing feedback for the setting. Everyone wanted to see more 60's-90's era operations!
  • The era-appropriate equipment and weapons were well received; everyone loves the M60s!
  • Got to see a proper danger crossing!

Cons:
  • Contact for the squad was lacking. Despite the injuries taken, we never went below Green on ammo!
  • Frames were lacking at times as we pushed through the town.
  • A high amount of blue-on-blue and negligent discharges tonight.
  • More line-of-sight maneuvering would have been good tonight, given the limited technology at our disposal.
  • Bird staging led to insertion without support assets (Atlas teams).
  • A handful of Arma-isms tonight.
  • Movement through town could have been a lot better.
  • We would have liked to see more IR strobes used for PID, given the lack of OPFOR Night Vision capabilities.

Improvements:
Un-aided land Nav and inter-squad and inter-team movement in low technology operations.

Pros:
  • Last push for Misfit-3 was awesome.
  • Good amount of medic work.
  • Very good 6 lines from 7.
Cons:
  • Kits needed to be better prepared. Did not have adequate time to fix default kits, was rushed at every stage.
  • On initial insert, LZ was incorrect. Basic mistake.
  • Better coordination with units needed. Nearly cut off in town by reinforcing enemies.

Pros:
  • Fun, action filled mission.
Cons:
  • DAP's were the wrong platform to use for a mission this CAS heavy. They also have a lot of new bugs and features pilots have yet to get a full handle on.
  • Too many CAS assets for one INFIDEL to handle reliably. Hilberg did a great job but he should've had a 2nd.
  • Aviators should've been consulted on the reduced 90s gear. We could've made that work and didn't have time to build our loadouts so had to get full access to Arsenal.
  • If resupply and reinsert was going to be a necessity a dedicated Buffalo slot instead of Bison should've been available. Bison's should not be used as transports.

    • Yay 90s!
  • Contact
    • Overwhelming odds
  • Communication
    • In-Squad communication exquisite
    • Platoon level solid
  • Mission Accomplished?

Cons:
  • Fratricide
    • Perpetrated and Received
  • Overall Planning
    • Objective lanes, Phase Lines, LOA, etc. designated along terrain features
    • Upholding lane/LOA/etc. borders
  • Air-Power
    • Overwhelming
    • Complete destruction of capture objective
    • Contact middling prior to QRF
  • Side Chat
    • Side Chat
  • Quickdraw Endex
    • Felt abrupt
  • AAR
    • Incredible lack of control after Endex
    • Fratricide rampant

Pros:
Fun OP
Having lots of rotary assets was cool

Cons:
I had technical difficulties with my joystick / keybinds that required me to land and troubleshoot
Had a power cut (power outage), meaning my time was cut short at the ~7:11 mark
It was jarring to go into a WFW op after just finishing work and be limited to 90's gear. Had to make significant changes to my flying loadout to make it work.

Pros:
  • Last push at the end of the OP was a lot of fun.
  • Overall good communication and teamwork throughout the Atlas units and leadership with minor hiccups
Cons:
  • The loadouts at the begging were very disorganized and did not posses the necessary items or way too many of unnecessary ones
  • Medical perms at the start were shot and no ability to perform complex surgeries
