Pros:
  • Good stick time
  • Great communication from crew
  • smooth flying all around
  • we caught Mr. Cage
  • Took lot of fire and didn't lose airframe
  • went black on miniguns
Cons:
  • Long flight time from base to AO
  • Buff-2 got shot down a few times due to miscommunication from ground
  • someone came on net and tried to control buffalo flight, they were not authorized and it caused mass confusion

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C
Corporal Whitehead.B
Private Parker.J

Pros:
  • Long flights to the LZ gave pilots more flight time and a more realistic feel that made planned resupplies more challenging which added to emersion.
  • Great LZ locations with a lot of space to land birds, and good en routes into the LZ area.
  • Great comms and teamwork between air assets and no mid-air conflicts arose during the operation.
  • After Buffalo-2 was deadlined at the LZ, ground elements did well to fold us into their unit and escort us to another LZ to extract.
  • A lot of fun as a whole in terms of the operation layout and execution (Great Job with that Liber!)
Cons:
  • Cleared into a hot LZ and upon touch down, no personnel moved to board the aircraft. After ninety seconds, Buffalo-2 sustained damage that deadlined the vehicle.
  • Buffalo-2 hit fire at the end when in trail in the Buffalo flight. Had to initiate a low-level autorotation that ended in clipping a rock and crashing the aircraft.
  • Comms were an issue as multiple additional callsigns flooded the net during exfil which made it very confusing for the Buffalo flight who typically relies on Infidel, 6, and 5.
  • Lost Hamm at the beginning and for the next hour he attempted to rejoin despite battle-eye issues not allowing him to reconnect. I've added him to the AAR because of this.

Pros:
  • Pilots successfully prosecuted Infidel's fire missions and generally stuck to our instructions or asked for clarification/modification
  • Plenty of action for all CAS elements yet didn't seem to be detracting from infantry experience -- Gun-6 did a good job of working with Infidel to ensure that everyone had something to do.
  • Good communication between Gun-6 and Infidel
  • Good communication between Infidel and intra-element coordination -- 1-2 picked up when 1-1 had too much going on, yet didn't overstep
Cons:
  • Unauthorized individuals/units coming onto comms causing some confusion. Similar rule to coloured smoke: if someone is not specifically designated to be someone who coordinates a CAS strike or transport pickup, they should not be doing so under any circumstances.
  • Need to be clearer at START of operation whether Gun-5 wants to coordinate transport or prefers to delegate to Infidel.
  • Need to re-emphasize at start of operations that NO unauthorized players should be using coloured smoke.

Pros:
  • My guys had a ton of fun.
  • Good OP. A ton of props to Liber for working hard on mission making and making it enjoyable for all of us.
  • Very good platoon coms. Got a good reply and answer going with most elements on 08. Trying to omit 6 for brevity.
  • Resupply happened, but it was too late to make use of. I chose to look at this like a pro.
  • Awesome Air assets and Infidel. Show of force and danger close.
  • Hard work by the squad. We were taking a beating with multiple cardiac arrests and yet we still had no black tags.
  • A good amount of contacts. Liber kept the balance in check here, see point two.
  • Good, decent pacing most of the mission.
Cons:
  • Unknown intent from 3. This was my bad as I missed it on 08. Caused a blue-on-blue incident.
  • Resupply late.
  • Atlas-4 is missing 40mm rounds.
  • The pacing slowed down towards the end, causing us to lose vigilance.

Pros:
  • Solid Contact Amount
  • Short & Sweet
  • Mission Accomplished

Cons:
  • Platoon Planning
    • Had to audible significant portions of the operation because of no briefing
    • Exfil plan was shoddy and left birds on ground for way too long
  • Squad Lanes
    • Respecting lanes to avoid fratricide
    • Many of my members struggled to provide support due to constant lane breaks/IFF issues

Pros:
  • Airfield Assault went well
  • Good support from Atlas and it was good having a 7 this time
  • Buffalos were responsive and on point despite the 18km one way flight
  • SLs were responsive went asked for info
  • SLs stayed on line and utilized the PLs during the city assault
Cons:
  • Gunslinger 2 SL wasn't actually slotted as the SL so blufor tracker was off which caused me to play hide and seek with the SL.
  • Coordination between the leads during the exfil could have been better which led to a cluster of an exfil and a Buffalo being disabled. At one point we had four different LZs and three different people trying to coordinate a pickup.
