Pros:

  • The OP definitely had some highlights. The sudden appearance of a technical behind us was a nice touch.
  • When radios were working, communication between Atlas teams and Gun-7 was effective.
  • Any casualties were treated promptly and returned to the action quickly.

Cons:

  • Injuries that were encountered were minimal and required no advanced treatment.
  • Bugs and issues popped up several times throughout the mission. The atlas-2 lead started the mission with a vehicle audio issue and Atlas-1 encountered radio issues towards the end.
  • The pacing of movement for Atlas-2 could have been better. We often found ourselves intermingling with Gunslinger teams or far too close to the front line when we weren't needed.
  • Connection and stability issues at the beginning lead to a particularly late start.

Pros:
  • Troops had fun
  • Good wave off by Buffalos and Infidel-1, Saved lives
  • CQB was good by troops as a whole.
  • Formations and spacing started off bad at first, but improved alot by the end of the OP.
  • Infidel-1 did a fantastic job handling air assets.

Cons:
  • It seems like every WFW we have problems with the server. Had to restart 3x.
  • Waited around more than would have liked a few times
  • SBF's positions where not the best could have had better positions.
  • Comms could have been better, especially by myself need to work on better comms.
  • Two troopers went off course by themselves and got pinned down with no one close enough to help them.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: BUFFALO-1
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Hamm.C

Pros:

  • Mission concept and design was solid and entertaining.
  • Buffalo and Bison flights were effective and piloting excellent.
  • Entire Alpha Co. aviation team did a fantastic job.
  • Infidel did a really great job, especially considering his workload.
  • Overall, had a good time once things got smoothed out.

Cons:

  • Severe mission start/server/delay/problems again, which is trending week after week at this point. This seriously needs to be resolved. No offense to the 30 minute prior leadership briefing, but maybe could we use some of this time and start loading people/groups in and focus more on in-game planning/briefing/map markings with a stabilized server so we aren't caught flat-footed and crash at the last minute?
  • CLEAR COMMS! CLEAR COMMS! All around, we need to de-conflict comms. Everybody- especially 7Cav members need to be mindful of comms at all times ESPECIALLY when in aircraft. It is imperative to keep in mind that pilots and crew are on 3 LR radios, channels 2/14/12, the crew intercom and the PAX intercom, obviously all at the same time. The last thing we ever need is for the onboard comms to turn into a mish-mosh stew of schizophrenic-like voices situation, which happens frequently. On multiple occasions, comms were impeded by completely unnecessary comms and general blah blah/banter/chitter chatter. Pilots/Crew/Infidel/Etc. are trying to communicate together and with ground elements to get troopers safely where they need to go in rapidly evolving situations. If it's not beneficial or mission critical, there is simply no reason to say it.

In one case, at the outset, passengers in the helicopter heard the caution/warning alert and decided it was somehow a good idea to chime in and talk about it and accomplish nothing over something that was of minor concern. This was fruitless and detrimental.

In another case, Infidel (on board the helicopter) was impeded in his comms while trying to set things up.

In another case, blah blah nearly got the whole bird shot down and everybody killed because of blah blah.

And our briefings could use a lot less blah blah, especially when we are having severe technical issues eating into our most populous event. It's very frustrating but while our leaders sort things out, we can always https://skribbl.io/ LOL
