Pros:
  • Mission accomplished
  • Decent infantry attendance to help support an A/1-7 FTX
  • Medics did a great job supporting infantry
  • Attack airframes did a great job supporting infantry
Cons:
  • Infantry movement could have been faster and bogged down by small numbers of casualties
  • Contact reports/SITREP's needed more often, especially once contact with enemy was initiated
  • Could have used a second or third FAC to manage 4+ attack airframes plus rotary pickup of infantry
If your name is not listed, please contact Colonel Tharen.R. If you have medal recommendations, let your element lead know.

Pros:
  • Coordination and comms were great on insert, lost alot of coordination on the evac.
Cons:
  • Another infidel would have been useful, hog was utilised, bison not so much.
  • A few technical issues today, ranging from missles (hellfire/apk) not working to airframes not spooling + camera glitch
  • Buffalo had a quiet time, did initial insert + one more re-insert immediately following then nothing until evac.

Pros:
  • Communication between ATLAS elements was superb.
  • ATLAS 1 and 2 maintained forward momentum to support assaulting Misfit elements
Cons:
  • Numerous casualties and injuries were sustained upon insert. Recommend if a very open LZ is used that Misfit/ATLAS elements have solid cover close to the LZ identified to move to in case of a hot LZ.
  • ATLAS elements occasionally bunched up on one or two casualties. Those issues were quickly rectified on the spot.

Pros:
  • CAS was fast and accurate
  • Misfit command and control was on point
  • Misfit 7 and Atlas elements were always moving with the FLOT
Cons:
  • CAS was called in on a tank that was within 5 meters of two squads
  • Plan broke down after SLs and ASLs started becoming casualties
  • Squads were constantly on top of each other despite operating in a major urban area

Pros:
-Got kitted out rapidly
-Ready for the birds quickly
-Good use of/movement through RP 4-6
-Good Exfil Coordination for unit to bird/ which unit gets on or off last/ file formation landing
-good urban maneuvering (movement to contact)

Cons:
-Plt as a whole took too long on the hill and we suffered greatly due to it
-We cleared buildings unnecessarily
-Although we coordinated for exfil we didnt confirm our size with the pilots and therefore failed to extract all units
-I have to be harder on the use of tripods on guns while moving
-Tanks were supposed to be adjacent enemy units, therefore I should have brought MAAWs team to engage
-Stop making ORPs so close to objectives that they are acting as AP ( it suggests a safe regroup point)
-Odd Contact consistency, going from painfully extreme, to near empty streets
-Too many buildings not enough time, we need more time or less buildings to complete objective (improved intel will also help)
-Due to large urban space, we cleared way too fast
-MBT ran over my troops, preventable with a MAAWs
-As an SL I need to do better contacting 6 for SITREPS, SPOTREPS, ACE. allowing him/her to know my status or situation
-As a unit we would have injured and stop movement for 2 men, this halting in place causes more injuries in the killbox, we need to move on to secure our injured.

SL Remarks:
-Suggest use of an Air Zues and a Ground zues to better facilitate the mission
-We may want to invest in the idea of exfil's at the end of an op requiring bigger or more birds due to late joiners

Pros:
  • First time leading as a ground infantry element. Felt everything from communication to relaying orders went fairly ok.
  • Urban maneuvering and squad movement was on point. Alpha and Bravo Fireteams performed admirably.
  • Alpha and Bravo Fireteams provided excellent support by fire from adjacent rooftops to maneuvering elements on the ground and established safe zones to pass through in reaching the objective.
  • Suppressive fire on enemy positions helped MISFIT-1 cross danger zones and intersections where the enemy was zeroed in.
  • Good communication with other MISFIT elements operating in conjunction.
  • Misfit command and control was on point. Thanks to COL. Tharen, we were able to move towards our objectives with full force.
  • Stayed on point and to the mission without getting bogged down with requests.
  • Short range comms were fairly okay.
Cons:
  • Numerous casualties and injuries were sustained upon insert. Leading to a huge buildup of wounded personnel.
  • Casualties mounted further into the city leading to a slow pace in reaching the objective.
  • Plan broke down after SLs and ASLs started becoming casualties and coordination was not well set after fireteam leads took over.
  • Squads were constantly on top of each other despite operating in a major urban area. Spacing was an issue for a good majority.
  • Upon touchdown, multiple members could still hear the helicopter despite it flying away. Audio glitch led to us not being able to hear enemy fire and accurately pinpoint direction.
  • Too often did members enter buildings despite my orders for them to stick with a battle buddy. This NEEDS to be corrected and stressed. Two man teams at all times.
  • Allowed ourselves to be placed in a kill box when movement was halted, should have radioed to ATLAS for extraction of wounded, patched them up, stabilized and moved on. Also could have designated Alpha and Bravo fireteams to push on and secure a certain point near the objective.
  • Intel was off and thus bogged us down in search for an enemy cache that wasn't there.
