Pros:
  • Good amount of work to do
  • Enjoyed the fire missions and the FO work
  • Kept busy
Cons:
  • Performance was poor, constant ping spikes and packet loss even during the AAR when everyone was spread out and no AI was spawned
  • Wanted some more manpower, working with the split elements was difficult to do with only three troopers

Pros:
  • Squad-Squad comms good.
  • I was there.
Cons:
  • Turnout abysmal. Still think if we ran FTXs on SP day we'd have more participation.

Element Callsign: Bandit-7
Element Leader: Corporal Johnsen.M
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Corporal Yota.G

Pros:
  • FTX was good, ran sorta smooth for the most part
  • Did unorthodox marking of LZs for Bandit-5 with IR strobes.
Cons:
  • Troopers need to learn when to pick up and when to drag a casualty. Most of the time just pick them up and carry instead of drag unless it's less than 3m distance.
  • When 7 says drop the casualty just drop him. Same goes for security, we don't need troopers walking over the pax and moping around, we've gotta our job and squads got theirs. We are healing, they are fighting and pulling security.
  • When ready too move form the convoy up. Make it make sense and "Make it nice; not twice."

Element Callsign: Bandit-5
Element Leader: Staff Sergeant Smith.DM
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: N/A

Pros:
  • Overall operation was cool, concept was awesome
  • Good comms with Buff-1 dealing with inserts / ISR and on the final OBJ CAS
  • Good overall communication with company staff
  • Bandit squad movement was good
  • Security was good for the most part despite having a lot of ground with not a lot of troopers
  • First time acting as 5 in any official capacity, and it was fun
  • bandit-7 was very responsive
Cons:
  • Packet loss / ping issues
  • Convoy movement could use some work, partially my fault for not planning it out more thoroughly
  • Definitely need to work on my capabilities as 5. Need to communicate ACE reports more often
  • Final convoy movement to the last OBJ, almost all plt leadership elements were in the same vic... oops

Element Callsign: MISFIT-5
Element Leader: Sergeant First Class Borenstein.B

Pros:
  • Fun time
  • got to use the word quadrilateral for the first time in 15 years
Cons:
  • Despawns. I spent like 30 minutes loading gear into a bunch of vehicles and they just disappeared after dismounts. Same thing happened in the OP a couple weekends ago with the backpacks buffalo brought me. Makes resupply job frustrating. Idk if there's something we can do about this but it would be nice.

Element Callsign: Misfit-7

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element: Staff Sergeant McAllen.J

Pros:
  • FTX was good, ran smooth for the most part
  • Lots of medical for Misfit 7/10 casualties reintegrated.
Cons:
  • If the Mk19 is such a big problem we shouldn't use it
  • Misfit 1 didnt have a cls but Misfit 3 had two. The slotting of personnel prior to op needs work.

CPL.Howe.T
PFC.Murphy.K
SPC.Leon.J
SGT.Giordano.C
CPL.Lucander.P
SPC.Doodek.C
PFC.Otter.K
PFC.Delgado.C

Pros: (Sustains)
  • Powerful determination at the fire team level. Teams were undaunted despite heavy enemy friction and high casualty rate
  • Excellent, dynamic coordination between fire teams (not using SL as go-between)
  • Seamless, fast succession of command when leadership went down (Death, disability, or disconnect) by SGT.Giordano and SGT.Clegg.
  • Fast, constant Archangle re-inserts
  • Squad served as tip of the spear for the platoon, taking the brunt of the casualties, pushing the enemy with aggression and power.
  • Excellent CLS work.
  • Squad performed fast, efficient move between platoons during initial slotting
Cons: (Improves)
  • LEADERSHIP. Needed more time to be briefed by PL before stepping off. 20 minutes were spent briefing at the company level, but SLs only got about 60 seconds and were tasked with moving before any route plan had been made.
  • LEADERSHIP. Lost 10 minutes at start due to being re-slotted into a different platoon
  • LEADERSHIP. Needed better CPs and convoy operation basics to navigate incl CPs, Rally points, DMPs,
  • LEADERSHIP. Needed better calls from Convoy Commander regarding dismounts, tasking on contact, speed and spacing
  • LEADERSHIP. Needed to know who the Convoy Commander was (I assumed 6, but it was never stated, it could have been 5)
  • LEADERSHIP. Map marking needed to be with control points rather than lines over existing roads IOT be able to see the actual road contours / details in the highly complex class 2 road network
  • LEADERSHIP. Rearm resupply plan felt sporadic to troopers. Possible it was on my not communicating the plan down, but there was a sense of "you'll get resupplied, maybe" rather than having a solid senes that "Helios will be responsible for resupply after each engagement. Radio to Helios 1 (or Misfit-5) for coordination and ACEREPS." Etc. Or even better, a more proactive call from 5 after each engagement prompting resupply and who's first, who's second, etc. Since we were only 2 squads, I was reluctant to let our guard down at LOA.
  • LEADERSHIP. Information on objectives / enemy positions was extremely vague. Perhaps that was mission design, but the "go here and kill bad guys" seemed too light on situation intel.
  • S3DEV. Needed global marking of mine locations (Common Operational Picture between Misfit, Helios, etc)
  • S3DEV. Global marking of LZs (Archangle and Misfit) COP issues, as above
  • S3DEV. No radios on spawn is highly annoying and feels like an embarrassingly glaring bug for the Cav. Is there a higher priority for S3DEV problem solving than a a core operational issue like this?
  • S3DEV. Server was ridiculously unstable for me. I disconnected not less than 6 times during the OP, and the MK19 frame rate issues were plaguing.
  • S3DEV. Arsenal extremely buggy. Only way to get any objects was to open the "area" menu and then open th Arsenal in a new menu window. Clicking to open the arsenal directly resulted in 90 game locks and then game crash and res insert, loosing 5 minutes each time. This caught me 3 times before I wised up, and the same issue was plaguing multiple other troopers in proximity.
  • S3DEV. MK19 guns: if they cause server catastrophes, they need to be deleted from the motor pool. We will live with the 50cal gun trucks just fine.
  • S3DEV. 50 cal would have reload errors, having to be reloaded 2x rather than once.
  • S3DEV. M203 was bugged frequently where a trooper would not be able to switch to the UBL mode, our out of it.
  • S3DEV. Squad spent time loading our Vic's with resupply, then the Vic's de spawned during hard dismount. Frustrating game mechanic.

Hilberg.A MacMillan.M Westcott.R This AAR is past its 7 day preparation period, and the master list still seems to be incomplete. Could you please finalize it at your earliest convenience?

Pros:
  • I remembered everyone in the section somehow even while not being an element lead but just the B-FTL/driver
  • Team to team comms in 3 were pretty solid and the vic was while not always positioned perfectly was utilized quite well in our movements and bounds

Cons:
  • I had to fill out this AAR post and remember the attendance, not something Saturday morning me was prepped for
  • I remember vic calls for when people were moving out to be shaky at best, turn callouts were better
  • Friendly AI being a bit too similar looking at night especially against similarly equipped PMC's, didn't help that they started to slowly creep into town causing PID nightmares

Pros:
  • Fun time
  • Teams did great job working together, including gun team. Resulted in very few casualties.
Cons:
  • Odd disconnect in the middle, multiple people had disconnects throughout
  • Had to be extra careful to not have vehicles despawn
  • Brief was very rushed for final platoon objective. This led to us not getting the convoy order and being in the wrong order.
