Second Lieutenant Nate Angels
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Captain Christopher Macpherson
First Sergeant Robert Herber
Sergeant Paul Lewis
Retired Corporal Zaida Sokol

Pros:
  • Great communication inner squad. Great movement. Squad pings were on point and we were able to get multiple tank kills as well as the infantry pushes.
  • The pings were on point for the team and we were able to get the contact reports on time.
Cons:
  • Using our pings should be to spot the things that needs to be pinged and we need to be proactive on removing the pings.
  • Command chat was VERY cluttered.

Pros:

  • Great communication inner squad. Great movement. Great Pings.
  • Made the squad actually have fun on arguably the worst map in HLL.
  • Fantastic and fun op where everyone had fun.
Cons:
  • Command chat was VERY cluttered.

Pros:
  • Excellent map choice. Kursk day is fantastic, but Kursk night is possibly the best map on Hell Let Loose I cannot commend you enough Hazen for blessing us with this Op.
  • Very specific objectives are really underappreciated, the change of pace was awesome. Well received from my squad and, from the sounds of the hotwash, everyone else that participated as well. We're all so familiar with the vanilla play style that something new like this gets to be extra exciting.
Cons:
  • None, great operation. Perfect map choice (cannot stress that enough.)

Pros:
  • Great concept
  • People had fun

Cons:
  • The rules were unclear because Opord and Battle Plan contradicted each other.
  • I signed up as a trooper at the last minute for some shoot shoot and boom boom because there were only 42 sign ups, but I was assigned as an SL even though I had indicated that I am busy. It's possible to do that, but it's counterproductive.

Pros:

  • Everybody had fun, really enjoyed the concept of the operation laid out on the OPORD
  • Some great combat throughout the entirety of the match despite relatively low turnout
Cons:
  • Seemed to be some confusion on our side regarding the OPORD and where bunkers were supposed to be placed to score points. I attribute this to a lack of preparation time and appointing leadership last minute, it is clearly laid out on the OPORD, just didn't have time to look into it.
  • After talking to troopers from the Allied side, it sounds like they were under the impression that bunkers could only be built while the capture point controlled by you. Being I was a late arrival, this may have been verbally communicated, and it makes sense as a rule, but it does not appear on the OPORD

Pros:

  • It is always awesome to have a full tank with members of my section for a operation!
  • Really cool concept for the operation!
  • Good use of fog and night to even out the terrain advantage the axis have.
  • Great comms from my team and leadership.
Cons:
  • Enemy A.T. troopers had us on our heels the whole time Making some tank battles very hard, which also goes to show how great our cav sappers are great work!

Pros:

  • Enjoyed the Concept and gameplay limitations that made getting a team W an interesting challenge
  • Last minute sign ups and placements actually worked well this time around and I was happy to see it go well for most
  • Communication was on point, All SLs and TC's Worked well on coordinating strikes and movement of enemy forces
  • Infantry was on point with their objectives and for working closely with Armor to keep the enemy armor in check
Cons:
  • Last minute placements did end up causing some confusion and lead to unanticipated or untraditional roles for OP
  • Enemy Infantry was on point with being hunter killers against armor and playing well timed ambushes. Very well done Infantry to both sides
  • Map choice was a personal challenge for me, as I am still recovering from Eye Surgery and hence the fog and darkness of the map made it difficult for me as a person to operate at full effectiveness as a fill in TC. That said, Worked well for the scenario envisioned.

Pros:

  • Kursk is an awesome map, especially at night. It offers lots of movement in otherwise open areas, great concealment, and it's a recon team's dream.
  • Unique concepts are fun to throw in these operations, and can be as refreshing as a vanilla operation. Nice to see S3 putting out more operations lately, and I think as we keep trying that attendance will improve!
  • Hazen did a good job running the event for his first one, and I suspect it'll be the first of many great operations going forward!
Cons:
  • The last minute placements made the event a challenge. I'm not sure that this operation had good "visibility" since the attendance was low and all the leadership was slotted late. That is usually because people didn't know about it. In the future, it is better to post operations as far an advance as possible. Minimum three weeks notice, and it's okay to ping the HLL events channel leading up to the event. I saw a couple of reminders, but I always recommend as much notice and attention as possible.
  • There was a little confusion about the bunker placement. It seemed like the SLs were not paying well enough attention to the briefing, or they simply missed the briefing entirely. I'm sure the next one will be better.
  • We need more SLs to sign up for these events. Be the change you want to see! The cav has a strong core of leaders, so let's utilize them. :D
  • The axis recon squad leader didn't fill out his AAR when he was supposed to and should be severely punished. D:<
