Element Callsign: Misfit-6
Element Leader: Colonel Beiter.A

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Sergeant Bishop.B (Misfit-6R)

Pros:
  • Awesome attendance!
  • Started off slow but we had good coms and good times.
  • Shout out to Bishop for some awesome FO calls with the mortars.

Cons:

  • Platoon break contact was rough, we were having mortars dropped right on us and still stayed still, I understand it wasn't the cleanest and we could be better but, it's something we need to work on as a unit is proper ways to break contact at large scale.
  • Blue on Blue
  • ACE Medical issues.

Element Callsign: Misfit-2
Element Leader:

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Nance.T
Specialist Woodford.F
Sergeant Major. Schmidt.A
Specialist Kron.D
Specialist Russell.JG
Specialist Murdock.T
Sergeant Angels.N
Private Farnsworth.S

Pros:

  • Enjoyed the map/environment
  • Plenty of detail in the planning
  • We managed to break contact pretty well
  • Lots of ACE reports throughout the Op
  • Overall everybody enjoyed the Op, we felt we were very cohesive throughout the Op

Cons:

  • Some blue on blue every now and again because of the congestion
  • Felt like the break contact took awhile for the platoon to break
  • Going West from the COI5 was awkward since it confused one of my fireteams
  • The lighting throughout the Op made it difficult in CQC

The medical system definitely needs to be looked at because of the issue with CPR not working as much as it probably should even when using multiple epinephrines. On that note, it felt like the mod was helpful in terms of preventing instant KIAs from being shot enough.

The only other thing I can think of is I fucked up the crossing at Bravo because I was not aware of a small bridge being there, so we kinda had one fireteam swim across the river lmao.

Element Callsign: Misfit-7
Element Leader: 2LT.Albright.J

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
CPL.Mooser.G

Pros:
  • Good integration with the platoon in the second half of the OP. We were close enough to the action to respond quickly to casulties, but still in relative safety
  • Treatment protocols were followed to a high level; if the medical mod didn't cause issues (see below), I'm confident that we would have been able to stabilize and return all the casulties given to us
  • Good workload
  • Good coms both within the element and from platoon

Cons:

  • Multiple issues with ACE medical:
    • No ROSC possible in casulties in cardiac arrest
      • Obervation: All casulties in cardiac arrest had barely any blood loss. Might have to do with their HP not recovering properly aver receiving a serious injury?
    • Healing up with the medical box also did not always work as intended
    • Impaired mobility in some casulties wasn't improving despite treatment
  • At the initial push across the river, -7 was ordered to stay too far behind IMO. I'd suggest putting them with the SBF element, still in relative safety, but able to respond to casulties more quickly.
  • Two instances of a casulty being reported as black tag that turned out to be red tag afterwards

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT
Name of Combat Mission: Operation Rats Nest
Element Callsign: HELIOS-1
Element Leader: Captain Rodahl.S

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
  1. Specialist Crimzon.E
  2. Private First Class Webbel.R

Pros:
  • Excellent setup of the mission.
  • Distance was okay, level of contact was adequate for Helios
  • Very cool drive-bys at circuital moments
  • Very cool environment
    • Weird lighting (looking up)
  • Explosions are cool

Cons:
  • Technically, we did not have enough manpower to be both resupply, logistics, and demo. Should have been amended by GM, but this was never communicated by Helios.
  • One of the vehicles were stolen/deleted. Do not know by whom, as the vehicle was not to be found. Caused a delay with getting supply to the resupply point.

Element Callsign: Misfit-3
Element Leader: Specialist MacMillan.M

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Specialist Giordano.C
Specialist Miller.JH
Private Pearl.F
Private First Class Hoover.R
Private First Class Reddick.A
Private First Class Marquez.E
Specialist Reed.JH
Private First Class Casper.D

Pros:
  • Map was excellent - Trenches and the AO made things interesting.
  • Plenty of detail in the planning - Element knew exactly what our lane was and what was needed
  • Break contact was good, moving to exfil for us was solid.
  • Excellent communication within the squad and higher.
  • Outstanding CoC handover, Giordano picked it up well and moved to lead the squad after actual was downed.

Cons:
  • One blue on blue incident, we didn't realize friendlies were crossing yet and were holding down the N security from our Southern Lane.
  • Break contact as a platoon took a while
  • SL Land Nav needed some work after we pushed back - moment of confusion on our AoR for the platoon halt before moving to PL2.
  • Still wish comms could go in either ear like TFAR.
  • Could have used more contact.

We enjoyed the medical system. Added more immersion, aside from the CPR glitch we didnt notice anything major.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Captain Lewis.A
Second Lieutenant Laui.M

First Sergeant Wiseman.L
Sergeant Turner.L
Specialist Keene.R
Specialist Trejo.J
Private Adams.T
Private First Class Yota.G

Pros:

  • The team excelled in tactical movement and formations at both the squad and platoon levels.
  • Initial contact was well-handled.
  • The squad demonstrated excellent over-communication.
  • Outstanding mutual support was provided throughout the exercise between Fire Teams.
  • The team performed a successful peel while carrying casualties under fire.
  • In true Ranger fashion (yours truly leading the way), we swam across the river to avoid using the nearby bridge, which would have silhouetted us against the skyline. This tactical decision demonstrated our team's initiative and commitment to stealth.

Cons:

  • The initial audible to the plan was confusing during the river crossing.
  • There were too many COI for an undersized platoon.
  • Map rendering of destroyed buildings was bugged.
  • Break contact as a Platoon was.....it left more to be desired, let's just say that.
  • Medical system settings were bugged, I carried two troopers around for 25 minutes like it was Weekend at Bernie's, clearing COIs
