Pros:

  • Match was super fun and enjoyed the S&D (Search and Destroy) type game mode.
  • Squad reacted and moved amazingly tonight and needed very little direction when it came to 'sticky' situations
  • Would love to see some sort of 'campaign' made of this and allow the Allies to become the defensive force and the Axis the attacking!

Cons:

  • Command, Platoon, and Squad comms were extremely overwhelming for a better part of the match. Need to ensure that comms are used appropriately and not constantly filled with random chatter (Call that final node was located was missed and was not acted on for longer than it should have.)
  • Artillery usage should be limited or have some sort of restriction put on it. Once a node was located, artillery shelled the hell out of the attackers and defenders. Felt as if arty was shooting fish in a barrel.
  • Squad to squad cohesion seemed to be lacking, once one squad was redirected to try another area, most others followed leaving 1 or more flanks open for enemies to retake and begin sweeping us out.

Pros:
  • Everyone enjoyed it.
  • Allies kept the pressure and allowed us to split into 2 groups and cover a wide area.
  • Objective was fun, was nice to make the nodes the objective then make them cap the zone before advancing.
  • Squad and Leader comms were amazing.
Cons:
  • Artillery off limits.
  • Some rule breaking, nothing major. Out of bounds.

Pros:
  • Everyone enjoyed it
  • Well designed and well balanced
  • Time to cap point after destruction of node gave minimal breathing space to reorg; kept the pressure on
  • Squad did what they were asked to do (mobile defense and counter-moves)
Cons:
  • Nothing of significance
  • Plan was a little loose at the beginning, but SLs made it work with good command

From the desk of SPC.Arnold.W's squad -

Pros:
  • Great communication through Squad and Command
  • Very fun Operation vs "normal" with having to finding a node and destroy it to proceed to the next. S&D!
  • Everyone in my squad did a tremendous job with callouts and suggestions and they also listened very well. At the last node my squad covered the north to not allow the allies to easily move through to push them in a different direction. Also appreciate Pvt. Farmer's squad helping out with that daunting task when he could, it is much appreciated.
Cons:
  • Seemed very disorganized as a team across the board. If we were more organized, then Axis would have easily won the main objective of defending the nodes.
  • Also, garrisons weren't a main priority across the board and fell on only a few people to build them.

Element Callsign: Allied Howe Squad, Second Platoon
Element Leader: Private First Class Kenton.W

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Specialist Austin.M
Specialist Freeze.T
Private First Class Cazeault.J

Private Chugunov.D

Pros:
  • Good inner-squad communication kept everyone alert
  • Squad was able to quickly reposition as needed
  • Really enjoyed this style of search and destroy opposed to just capping the points as usual
  • Very happy with my squads performance with the tasks we were directed to carry out.
Cons:
  • Communication between Command/Platoon/Squad got very overwhelming at times causing key call outs to get lost in the static.
  • Artillery could have been restricted slightly as at times we were completely paralyzed.

Pros:

-Amazing idea for an op setup. Assaulting nodes instead of points was a blast

-Solid plan of attack from Allied leadership.
-Excellent teamwork between squads.

Cons:

-Lack of satchels within my squad limiting one member to shotgun for the whole match.
-Comms were slightly hectic listening to command, squad, discord, and local.

Element Callsign: Axis Tank Squad
Element Leader: Specialist Sibley.K
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Specialist Sibley.K
Specialist Williams.S
Private Patterson.H

Pros:
  • Well balanced operation. I liked the focus on the nodes not the points - kept things tense and interesting at all times. One of my favorite Ops that I've played.
  • Strong communication by squad leads, who called out heavy infantry pushes early enough for us to respond, reposition, and support. Enemy tank markers were accurate and reliable.
  • Really incredible tank-support by Axis infantry. Our infantry killed satchelers, repaired our tank, and called out danger-close elements.
    • We had a movie-worthy moment when SPC.Flick.J's squad followed our tank into town center to regain control of the southwest flank; we cleared fire forward while they cleaned out the alleyways.
    • Friendly engineers built a repair station on Rail Crossing which kept our tank alive during incoming anti-tank fire and allowed us to anchor against an enemy push from the north (1SG.Mueller). We ended up burning through all of our HE ammunition during that hold.
    • Multiple instances of friendly infantry killing the enemy AT flanking us, which allowed my gunner to focus on his firing lane.
    • Good local-voice-comms by infantry alerting us to enemies in alleyways. Really aided our situational awareness and allowed us to fight CQB in the densest parts of the city.
Cons:
  • Nothing

Element Callsign: Allies George Squad
Element Leader: Corporal DONK.B
7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Private First Class Walton.D
Staff Sergeant Wisniewski.A
Specialist Silvis.C RET

Pros:

  • Well balanced operation, and teams by Corporal Williams.JB was a slugfest at times but enough dynamism to keep us all entertained.
  • Good intrasquad coordination, had a few cooperative satchel plays.
  • Great initiative from some veteran players. When I didn't know they next move Staff Sergeant Wisniewski.A and Specialist Silvis.C RET had some great suggestions allowing us more map control and multiple team vectors of attack.
  • Private First Class Walton.D was able to get nodes up quick and early in mid HQ which allowed me to focus on our early spawn. He also fetched a truck to mid HQ with the extra time from his efficiency.
  • Great tank callouts by Staff Sergeant Wisniewski.A
  • Command nearly always had 7 garrisons up, though blue zone safety may have been the main reason for this.
  • Time in between node destruction and cap of the point allowed for some coordination and mental re-set.
  • It was easy working with Staff Sergeant Silvis.B as platoon lead, knew when to ignore him and when to mass under his direction.

Cons:
  • Little bit of AO restrictions ignored after a point was capped down south. Lost an OP and maybe a garrison and some supply truck momentum in our blue zone.
  • Comms were a bit hectic listening to command, squad, discord. I've got to find the secret volume combo, had sound Fx too low. Would also like a basic dos and don't manual for call outs in platoon chat vs command chat for my own guidance.
  • My squad didn't get an opportunity to complement our tankers, but that could have been due to my own lack of initiative.
  • Private First Class Hernandez.J could not attend.
