Oh, troopers, how you've answered the call.

Star Citizen operations are go.

As of this post, under DEVCOM oversight, we are officially launching a starter platoon in Star Citizen with permission from General Kleinman with a solid starting roster to be announced shortly. This marks the beginning of our push into a living, breathing universe where logistics, ground combat, ship warfare and economic operations all come together with the Cav's flavor of military realism.

We've learned so many lessons from the amazing work our last Starter Platoon did - and we're back with fresh ideas, lots of support, and an iron will to make this happen.

Why Star Citizen?

For those unfamiliar, Star Citizen is a massive multiplayer space sim with ground combat, ship battles, mining, logistics and exploration — all with a strong emphasis on teamwork and combined arms, which makes it a great fit for how we operate in the 7th Cavalry. Star Citizen offers something no other title in the Regiment's current lineup does:
  • Persistent, open-world operations with both ground and air elements
  • Combined arms engagements involving infantry, armor, and aerospace
  • Complex mission sets including extractions, logistics convoys, bounty hunting and exploration
  • A developing ecosystem that still allows room for us to shape our place and influence the culture
  • Planets! Planets!
We're asking for every Cav trooper who sees the opportunity in this game to help us build the groundwork: spread awareness, assist in onboarding and bring your Cav experience into every operation.

Our Launch Phase Includes:
  • Priority 1: An intense focus on Recruitment.
    • The terms of the Starter Platoon launch are:
      • Recruit to 20-players by the end of Month 2 from the date of first assignments.
      • Extensions are available to this deadline if the team meet 75% of this target.
    • We'll need everyone's help to build a strong influence in the game, on Discord, on Reddit and in-game.
    • Please help us when you can. Showcase our brotherhood and your MILSIM experience.
    • Troopers and Enlistees (once Briefed by RTC) will be assigned soon to 1/2/C/ACD, utilising the existing Starter Platoon infrastructure.
      • Note: Any trooper occupying a leadership position (ASL+) will be required to file a PAF Transfer to ensure the Departure Chain of Command have time to find a suitable replacement.
  • Priority 2: Develop an engaging and enduring presence.
    • At 15 Players: Developing Training materials and Boot Camps for new players to engage with and set high standards for our MILSIM experience.
    • At 15 Players: Weekly Mission Events (Fireteam Fridays!) and Field Training Exercises (FTXs).
    • At 20 Players: Live Operations and Missions with evolving objectives.
    • At 20 Players: Internal SOP development for command structure, comms, and squad roles.

I've owned it for MANY years, but realized I'm going to have to relearn everything with the new version since I haven't played since 2021. And all my ships are gone for some reason.

Will this require all personnel to transfer out of active platoons/sections, other than leadership? (perhaps this is once it's off the ground and solidified at 20+ members)
