Pros:
  • Was lots of Fun Given being Vanilla
  • COMM's were patchy at the start but ended up pretty good in the end
  • Plenty of Casualties to work on
  • Awesome work with Squad CLS/Squad members Working and Aiding Atlas with CPR and Security around CCP's
Cons:
  • Arma 3 vanilla but we all know our thoughts on that
  • Basic ACE medical is very different to what we are Trained and Work with but still worked regardless
  • Not being able to communicate via Voice when using Medical menu or Ace interactions.
  • If possible making Splints Fix legs or PAK's not consuming on use for MEDICS [ATLAS] as there were lots of broken Bones and only way to fix them were PAK's

Pros:
  • Still managed to have fun and exercise basic drills although the constant change of orders and gap to vanilla and vanilla + minor mods.
  • Some thought we did well based on the recent updates and gap of adjustments among troopers.
Cons:
  • Confusion if this is Vanilla or modded due to the minor presence of mods. (One public player had issues and could not join until debrief)
    [Proposed Solution]
    - Reconstitution of Admin help availability on server/discord/ts due to vanilla turnover was not clearly communicated in extension to the cav (public members)
    - Reconsideration and Re-evaluation of intended goal of vanilla change and have mods be present or not be present.

  • State of Communication of vanilla is confusing and low quality; as SL, missed many communication with FTLs and Leadership and had to ignore direct comms mostly just to keep focus on group and command channel.
    [Proposed Solution]
    - scripted communication to limit certain roles and have names appear as spoken. Possible audio breaker between messages and speakers can help destress communication clutters.
    - re-addressing usage and designation of communications channels
    - if current goal is to keep few mods, requesting add of tfar

  • Lack of fundamentals due to need for testing of vanilla server through an operation level
No solid plan outlined causing inconsistent movement between squads
Hasty movements due to need of adaptability even among cav troopers (fatigue, aim, equipment etc)
    OIC, PCC/PCI was conducted poorly
Sudden hold on convoy causing mass casualty situation due to unplanned stop
Lead elements running off on their own and setting off explosives without notice
    [Proposed Solution]
    - If there are to be more operations, requesting to stick to operation planning and standard SOPs to avoid additional confusion caused by the current change at hand. TACR's intention to enjoy have fun and be tactical can be greatly hindered if we do not uphold the sensitive grey area that troopers even neglect to enforce.
    - With condensed tasks compared to modded TACR, the in-availability of things to do on the field also causes hasty movements between fireteams and squad greatly confusing leadership (squad and above)

**If we run squads at its own level in vanilla, there is a very likely situation where squads will be in friendly fire or isolated incidences. Hope we can see more of mutual squad tactics and revalidation to basic tactics since the dmg system is more like real life (1 shot can get you down) which makes distance, information and position play a crucial role in any infantry. The lack of action in vanilla can tend to make players charge in and get isolated more often and is not even a likely tactic in real life unless we are sure of our objective and an idea of contacts present.

**Scripted communication channels if mods are not to be integrated further. (reference from 77th JSOC server) Thinking back on communication channels, I think it can cause overflow of communication for infantry but at the same time eliminate communications possibility entirely to other elements due to limitations and need for focus of communication. Having options to have channels open can give flexibility to a fireteam level. We can even name it to designate certain types and consider it predesignated channels like we did with ACRE2

Pros:
  • (Personal Pro) Getting more comfortable with leading
  • Vanilla works well with 7th Cav tactics
  • Good Zeusing with enemies tactics/amount of contact
  • Having Ace and squad radar is very beneficial
  • Good communication despite vanilla voice quality
  • Every squad remained functional throughout, despite heavy losses
  • Amazing atlas work with speed and location of CCPs
Cons:
  • Was unable to deal with tanks for a while (but this issue was already addressed)
  • Large health decrease leading to more deaths (issue is native to vanilla)
