Pros:
  • Tucano is fun
  • Dogfights with Viper was cool

Cons:
  • Our aircraft couldn't see any lasers from anyone
  • CTAB Crashes
  • Didn't drop a single bomb
  • For my WSO first op, I felt bad for him given the little action we had
  • Air to Ground coms were limited
  • Hellcat-2 after 2 hours of flying around in circles just went back to base
  • Cameras and Sensors on the aircraft is pretty rough
Notes:
The Tucano is a fun aircraft to fly and provides a different mission type for CAS and can be utilized in more ops if it fits the mission. I thoroughly enjoyed flying it around. The biggest cons with the aircraft is its limited abilities to see targets with its cameras. It requires a both a pilot and WSO to function properly and works great if everything else works around us. I would like to see more use of it and I’ll personally make use of it in my missions.

Pros:

  • Casualties were plentiful and were quickly treated
  • Plenty of cool locations to assault
  • Comms in between myself and Misfit elements were quick and efficient
  • Overall Atlas liked the mission

Cons:

  • Lots of disconnects
  • LZ at Tallahasse was a bit too hot for the 2nd bird
  • Rarely got callbacks when Atlas was clear of casualties
  • We never had time to treat Misfit elements at the beginning of the Op around our WP
  • The Mass Cas could've been triaged better
  • VIPS were killed when we brought them to the FRAGO Obj
Notes: There were lots of tamponades tonight which resulted in at least 1 black tag so we need to make sure infantry checks in with their CLS or Atlas personnel to make sure they don't need Advanced Care.

Op went on a bit longer than expected, we should try to get accountability of who wants to continue forward so we don't keep people for too long.

Pros:
  • Overall, it was a good movement from LZ to OBJ.
  • Decent execution of the raid on AOI-3.
  • Good flexibility from the platoon.
  • Top work from 5 and 7.
  • Follow-on objective was dope!
  • It seemed that player red-air was well received across the board—either a pro from aviation or a non-factor for the ground guys.
  • I like the longer OP; these are awesome from an EST/EDT perspective!

Cons:
  • In between objectives, the movement from some squads was hit-or-miss.
  • Helo's crash on follow-on objectives took the wind out of our sales.
  • OPSKED was optimistic.
  • More extended OPs for WFW are rough for our EU friends, so there's a mixed bag there.

Pros:
  • Good amount of action
  • Patients received were very manageable
  • New medic in squad
  • Good movement
  • 2IC took care of business when I was dealing with connection issues
  • CCP use good once I was able to reconnect
Cons:
  • New medic needs work/practice/guideance
  • Grizzly crash with ATLAS on board. VIPS killed
  • Game crashed with CTAB bug and battle eye kicked, needed to restart system. Was unable to do full PCC/PCI and actual gone first half hour
  • Mass causality triage not properly with critical patients left untreated with yellows being treated

Pros:
  • Great Squad TRPs
  • good ACE report intervals
  • Movement was good, even in the tight, dense jungle
  • VoA with the MAAWs and other combat multipliers
  • Talking guns observed
  • Calls for fire, clear concise and direct
  • Experienced leaders with high battle IQ
  • Platoon Comms crispy
  • Echoing Orders was great
  • Splitting off my MAAWs team on AOI-2 was a smart move by 6
  • MAAWs blew up a gun boat
  • Fun
  • Diverse amount of objectives and fires. IHW was properly utilized
  • gained upper hand on heavily occupied tree line after a hot LZ drop on last obj with overwhelming amount of fire despite being in the open and taking fire from the rear and flank as well
  • noise and light discipline was amazing
  • flexible
  • interesting operation/ muh lore (MAJ found the blow)
  • ATLAS was johnny on the spot
  • Fun holding down the original ORP in the jungle/hand grenade range contacts
  • No black tags

Cons:

  • One of the elements ran in front of us between our SBF and enemy elements between AOI-1 and AOI-3 which caught us by surprise; we thought we nailed down the movement behind us over platoon comms multiple times, so I'm not sure where the breakdown in communication happened where they just ran in the open in our crossfire. Thankfully, there was no direct fire at that time, but its something to keep in mind and learn from as I could have seen that going very bad.
  • poor MISFIT-5 had to carry the resupply box about a click, and we had to leave the medical box behind because of paratroopers.

Pros:
  • Excellent work by ALL Buffalo/Grizzly personnel tonight. You guys were the epitome of "Semper Gumby"! Swapping airframes, cycling and shifting LZ's, resupply and reinserts handled expediently. Consummate professionals all evening and it is truly a pleasure to work with you every time I get the chance.
  • Excellent initial platoon movements, follow on maneuvers were crisp as well.
  • Mission was awesome! Good fun, appropriate contact level, tough but fair.
  • M4 did EXCELLENT work on the insert to the final OBJ. Only squad on the deck in a hot LZ and contact on 3 sides, layed down hate and then pushed to a tree-line, layed down more hate, then maneuvered again to a blocking position for the MASCAS from the 2nd Helo insert crashing. M4 held the line.
Cons:
  • I ran across 3 public players that were just completely separated from their respective squads. It is paramount that if we get these peeps in the server we keep track of them and get them in the fight.
  • People are still looting OPFOR bodies and picking up their equipment. This needs to stop as it directly violates are A.O. R.O.E.

  • Low Alpha Co turn out

Pros:
  • Expedient readiness from the platoon.
  • Fantastic movement for most parts of the OP.
  • Great succession of command when necessary.
  • Squad level actions on contact were active and carried initiative.
  • Raids are cool
    • I think we could have been quicker to get off the X.
  • Fog and night time made the OP very immersive.

Cons:
  • Awkward infill.
    • Helocast was briefed, but ended up being a regular touchdown
  • The platoon left our squad behind on the jungle manoeuvres.
    • Jungle warfare is not trained on a regular basis. Maybe it should be? Maybe just from a platoon perspective?
    • Most platoon leaders know how to do it but the squads needs to react to the contacts given, instead of continuing on planned route.
  • The squad felt misplaced on our security location t the first objective, though, tactically, I think it was the only spot left where our squad would be useful.
    • Would have been nice to see a patrol or two heading our way.
  • Manoeuvres in between the AOIs were FRAGO'ed but the squads had different ideas on the movement. Waypoints might be needed.
  • Unfortunate landing on actionable objective. Not really anyone's fault.
There are mixed feelings about extending the time of the operation. Some people like it, some people don't.

This may look like the pros and cons are even, but the cons are nit-picky and the pros massively outweighs them.

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Great mission and great leadership.
  • Great comms and coordination with MISFIT-5 Westcott.R as always. 10/10 job.
Cons:
  • GRIZZLY-1 Crash. Very weird and unfortunate, but not shocking. Perfect approach, landing right on target and then boom. See my video I posted. The only thing we can figure is that this was a ramp issue. Very, very important that nobody but the aircraft crew touch the ramp controls, hoist controls, and fast rope controls, at any time unless otherwise instructed to by the aircrew.
    • And btw- no matter how much better the new Grizzly is compared to the old one (which it is much better), it is still somewhat problematic and it still kinda sucks IMO. So we should always primarily (if not only) use it for a) Huge instractions, b) Huge extractions and c) Sling loading/heavy transport. Outside of those specific missions, strongly recommend we avoid it.
  • Slight issue with comms.
  • Low Alpha Co. turnout.

Pros:
  • Good Squad Movement
  • Good Hasty Raid on OBJ 1
  • Helocast insert went well, no injuries reported
  • Found and captured x2 VIPs at OBJ 2

Cons:
  • VIPS at OBJ 2 got caught in crossfire
  • Crossing into a HW team firing line in an open field
  • Radio issues
  • Planted demo in a building being used as a CCP
