Pros:
  • Was nice to see 82 guys come out to commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
  • Sounded like everyone had a fun time.
  • Matches went well, and they lasted nearly the entire Warfare mode time.
Cons:
  • Would have liked to have seen full games, but 82 on a Sunday afternoon is pretty good!

2nd Match:

Pros:
  • Were able to keep significant pressure for most of the match
  • Squad defended assigned zones effectively.
  • Was able to successfully push back flanks and get behind enemy lines to clear out garries
Cons:
  • Comms need work. Was very slow to respond to commander requests. Likely need to practice this specifically in squad practice.
  • Friendly garrisons were taken out very quickly but not replaced very quickly.
  • Zone of control was spotty leaving gaps, allowing enemy to take over areas freely.
  • Zero attacking squads for significant portions of the match, allowing the enemy to consolidate or do a full attack. Did not take advantage of enemy pushing hard attack to counter attack with little resistance (see Con 1).

Pros:
  • Our Squad destroyed 5 enemy garrison
  • We took control of the church 3 times in a disadvantageous fight.
  • We didn't play like a squad for the first 5-10 minutes but then we grouped up and were able to do stuff.
  • Great team efforts to build a garrison. We built 4 doing support
  • Very effective satchel behind enemy lines
Cons:
  • Our squad was too small to hold up a place. Every gain we had was lost instantly because we were always out numbered.
  • We all felt there was a lack of pressure on the attack.
  • Lack of defence on the offensive garrison

Pros:
  • Good to face a quality Opponent
  • Good communication from my squad
  • Built tons of hot swapped garries in the back line both games
  • My team did really well switching to whatever position anyone needed us to.
Cons:
  • Need to work on listening to command coms more. was called a few times and just didnt hear. sadly a normal thing i do in pubs and a bad habit i need to break in Operations.
  • No designated squad till late in each match
  • Terrible command coms

Pros:
  • Fun double header operation.
Cons:
  • Communication died quite a bit in the second game.
  • Teams should have been reassessed after first match and evened out. Allied team in second match was down about 5 people for the first 20 minutes or so.

Pro's:

The guys loved this. Our first match we were a force to be reckoned with. We controlled the attack we continued to pester and destroy the enemies in the backfield. The second match we held down chapel. Kona led the guys brilliantly holding defense. Rotating and communicating was key when they were holding the point. Overall, this was the best squad of guys I have ever been assembled with and had the pleasure to lead. I could not ask for anything more from my Famine Boys. Made me proud to be a reaper and made me proud to be a part of the Cav. Thank you for this operation.

Con's:
The only issue the guys had was the friendly arty on the point during the second match. Other than that. Nothing it was great.

Pros:
  • everyone seemed to enjoy the match
Cons:
  • People seemed to just hide in bushes or camp OP's and not really make an attempt to destroy it
  • missed most of the first match
  • lost lot of people by the 2nd match

Pros: We held the enemy back from reaching second to last point with just our mg despite multiple slip ins and near close calls we held out for as long as we could to reestablish an offensive front for the other squads. We switched to where ever we needed to be as ordered by Command and originally branched off from a larger squad element to put more ops out in the field.
Cons: Allies was spread too thin allowing the enemy elements to snake their way in through our defenses/offenses and steam roll us. Not enough call outs and squads shifting to points ordered by Command and as well not enough flexibility in between squads for roles and ops out in the field. Garrisons were not well defended once put up and mostly forgotten so replacing those garrisons are a must. Node building was too slow and could have gotten done faster. Last but not least could have seen more Armored in the first portion of the match to take Chapel due to enemy infantry being too well dug in for our own infantry to snuff them out. Lot of these points can be well executed and practiced within section practices and just keep getting better at what we do.

Pros:
  • It was an enjoyable, casual operation with great turnout. Having 70 people turn out for a simple, high quality match of 7th Cav guys is always a great experience!
  • It was a great opportunity for me to practice the commander role!
  • We held out for quite some time against a very skillful opponent, and we nearly captured the center point multiple times during both matches. The other team just did a great job of counterattacking. We were swiping each others garrisons effectively, and both teams were rebuilding them just as effectively.
  • Two matches back to back without a hitch, and only minor balancing issues. Normally when maps flip, chaos ensues, but that didn't happen this time. Well organized event overall.
  • People who wouldn't have had the opportunity to attend the early event were given a great chance to attend the second event. This made it possible for the most people to attend. The second event did indeed have less people, but there were quite a few late comers that doubtless appreciated being able to still attend.
Cons:
  • There were some communication issues. I was unable to relay orders in a way that the squads could understand, and responses were slow. I am unsure if I was having mic issues, or if there was simply too much chatter and I could not be heard. I need to work on speaking more concisely and giving clear, direct orders.
  • I made some bad strategic decisions, especially once things started to bog down. This cost the team our victory. Namely, I made a lot Hail Mary's that didn't pan out, such as using artillery directly on friendly airheads, halftrack pushes, and frontal assaults. Our attacks were disjointed and not well timed. I needed to slow down, and direct the assaulting teams to coordinate their attacks better. Instead, we seemed to be rushing in with small squads at separate times, and the enemy was able to respond effectively.
  • I need to develop a better strategy for rear security on flanks. Our flanks kept getting wiped from behind by their defensive teams. Credit to the opposing side for out-maneuvering us, but I felt we could have countered their moves.

Pros:
  • Provided ZOC defense for a majority of both games.
  • In squad comms and call outs were superb.
  • Proactive vs reactive worked well, were able to get into lines of fire and have the enemy meet us instead of us running into them.
  • Great examples from my guys in pushing out the defense and hunting recon teams/ destroying back garrisons and outposts.
  • 2-man teams were able to bound with buddies and attack multiple targets at the same time.
  • Excellent work with quick respawns to get troopers back into hard cap when needed.
Cons:
  • Command comms was quite cluttered and loud.
  • Seemed to be on the back foot most of the time.
  • Had issues pushing out of defense and get attacks going and held.

Pros
  • Everyone in my unit had fun
  • Squad worked and communicated together well to initially work in 4 grid defence and transition into a Frontline offensive unit
  • Was happy with command comms and Squad to Squad proximity comm use and effectiveness
  • Our fireteam was entirely people from our section and we utilized many tactics that we practice weekly as combat engineers and that feels good
  • 11 OPs, 3 Garrisons, and 2 Panthers destroyed - yippee
  • Loose guidelines allowed for initiative and creativity in fire team playstyles. Coordination with other squads to accomplish objectives was succesful
  • Opposing force put up a great fight
Cons
  • None - cont. In phase 2
Phase 2 Element Callsign:
Axis "George" Recon Squad
Element leader:
SPC.Etoh.I
7th Cavalry Personnel within Element:
SPC.Suplee.B

Pros
  • Jeep Gambit was highly succesful at destroying 9 nodes in a matter of minutes. Thank you SPC.Laroche.P for lending us SGT.Sotelo.R, he performed exceptionally well
  • First time as Spotter, very interesting to see the battle from a different perspective and coordinate with Fireteams in a new way
  • Everyone fought hard and it was an enjoyable doubleheader of an operation
Cons
  • Limited numbers, understandable as to why but would have been nice if teams were filled
  • Nodes. As a two man Squad we built 6 nodes and 15 minutes into the match we still only had 6 nodes. 9 supply boxes should be in the HQs before warmup ends and that shouldn't require Command delegation
  • Would have liked to follow the OPORD comm structure, I personally had no issues with command comm clutter and numbers were low. However I was looking forward to utilizing that structure.
Edited because of posting from mobile foibles

Pros:
  • The understanding of what's needed, and where, without asking, is huge. And that comes with playing with the same people. Which I will ALWAYS advocate for.
  • The Garri placement off the rip was solid. Nobody had to be told to place a garri. 3 when the center point was capped. immediate 6, when it was taken.
  • When the Point was taken, the Garris situation formed a pentagon off of the center cap. So effective. Garris wins games.
  • Zone control: Squad North. Squad South, x2 QRF, squad on the hard cap, Squad West. An offensive squad to probe.
  • Excellent response time in most aspects.
  • Reading the battlefield and the battle, knowing when to hit. Discipline. When asked, they immediately responded.
  • W
Cons:
  • Honestly. I didn't know we had armor.
  • Offensive squad Daisy chaining despite being reminded not to do that.
  • At one point, I called for assistance on the defensive hard cap. I was not acknowledged. I had to ask multiple times for help defensively hard cap and it took far too long to even be heard. We almost lost that point. Do better.
  • Poor start: BEAN - Don't get the truck stuck on a hill. We lost the initial BC OF YOU!
  • Putting a half-track in a trench. Just past the two line

Pros:
  • Squad held an active defense 1st match resulting in holding the center point for the entirety of the match.
  • Second match, squad effectively flexed to and from center point defense to attacking resulting in a 5-0 victory.
  • Communication up and down were effective and critical to our success.
Cons:
  • Lacked armor support during both matches.
  • Second match, comms got quiet for a large portion of the match until the end.
  • Lost a good amount of people after the first match but the initial turn out and carry over was good to see!
