Element Callsign: VIKING-5
Element Leader: Corporal Nomad.P

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Specialist Shepard.S

Pros:
  • Good teamwork witnessed between squads without the need for Platoon Command intervention
  • Great turnout.
  • Amazing placement of the enemy positions to provide an effective engagement for friendly forces.
Cons:
  • ACE checks were few and far between when called for.
  • Vehicles drove -into- fire even after it was clearly identified as a threat. We need to keep situational awareness.
  • Better identification of friendly forces to avoid friendly fire.

Pros:
Op started a little slow fort ATLAS
Good amount of medical care when casualties got going
Great team to work with
Great response to calls

Cons:
Couldn't seem to be able to use the ultrasound when AED pads were placed
Buddy aid seemed pretty lacking, self care basically stopped when ATLAS arrived on scene
Couple black tags because casualty calls weren't making it to 7
Seemed like most comms were coming through convoy net which made comms a bit odd to track
Couple black tags during ATLAS care or just upon ATLAS arrival due to injury amount

Pros:

  • Great turnout
  • Good response and positioning from ATLAS
Cons:
  • ComTacless helmet variant still defaulting to TAN-RGR instead of TAN-MC when changing in the arsenal. Looks silly.
  • Too many coms on vehicle net rather than over platoon net.
  • Casualty dumped in ATLAS' vehicle without notification resulting in them being left.
  • Slow casualty callups from squads.

Pros:
  • Fun
  • Got to roll in the ground pound bus in style
  • Fantastic mission design
Cons:
  • Self-imposed shootdowns, we should have done 1-2 dedicated SEAD sorties at the beginning and THEN CAS but instead we tried to combine them both all op resulting in multiple shootdowns or near-shootdowns, mostly caused by missiles being fired while we were in the TGT pod lookng for targets or flying low and slow for a strike. Once we reset and decided to actually do SEAD, it took a single coordinated sortie to completely clear the enemy AA and this is what we should have done from the beginning
  • Had to share the cabin of the whirlybird with Terp.J twice
  • Lag/stuttering
Technical Issues (Sam.T )
  • The pilot kit spawns with a radio backpack but for some reason the antenna isn't selected -- this probably happened by accident with the latest loadouts update because it worked fine until recently! Should be a simple fix, just need to make sure one of the antenna options is selected rather than disabled
  • Radio issues requiring Zeus reset (maybe related to the above point, maybe not)

Pros:
  • Squad worked the objectives well
  • Lots of aggression from the squad all night
  • Leadership was handled well throughout the squad, including the succession of it
  • We got down and dirty with multiple MBTs and MT-LBs
  • It was a really fun op for the squad
  • Taking a tow rocket to the face made for an interesting time
  • Hunting tanks with an AR is a fun time
Cons:
  • Casualty care was not handled in the best possible manner
  • We had a couple of moments when the squad should have broken contact, such as with the tow that was 700 meters away from our position.

Element Callsign: VIKING-6
Element Leader: Second Lieutenant Narramoor.A

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Bethea.A
Staff Sergeant Westcott.R

Pros
  • Good vehicle crew in Sierra 6
  • Excellent work by 7 and Atlas in recovering MAS-CAS situations
  • Excellent work from -4 in delivering ordnance
  • Infantry elements managed to mop up a LOT of contact.
  • Really good platoon comms on the platoon net.
  • Good individual actions from squads.
  • Good succession of command
  • Great work from Viking-5 in being authorititive with all sustainment activities.
  • Great turnout
  • Amazing work from the mission makers providing a very satisfying balance of contact
Cons
  • Harebrained scheme to destroy artillery at Volkovo. (Caught the mission makers off guard though)
  • Discombobulated clearance of the town which led to a lot of confusion between elements - Lots of Blue-on-blue
  • Fog at the start was just thick enough that infantry couldn't see contact across the bridge.
  • Haphazard confirmation of destroyed tanks led to a few MASCAS situations
  • SITREPs could have been done more frequently
cScripts / Loadouts
  • Tactical Backpacks for pilots and Chaos to have access to radio Antennas. Antenna #2 doesn't work
  • Atlas had good feedback from arsenal rgd. kits
KAT Bugs
  • Unable to do ultrasounds whilst placing AED pads

Element Callsign: BUFFALO FLIGHT (1, 2)
Element Leader: Specialist Hamm.C "Hooker"

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Corporal Terp.J (BUFFALO-2)

Pros:
  • Great OP and lots of fun... great turnout. Pretty map and pretty good performance.
  • Great BUFFALO Flight teamwork. Good intra ship/ship to ship/and CTAF comms.
  • Great comms with Viking-5. Very responsive and on point.
  • Two birds up during second half, so consistent stick time.
  • Very successful CSAR opportunities.
Cons:
  • No dedicated Crew Chief (CC) or Door Gunner (DG). Would have been cool to have two birds up; One for primary and one for overhead/orbital security.

Pros:
  • Good Teamwork within the Teams and Squad Together and Squad Comms.
  • Multiple Task Sets for Squad (81's, JAV, MMG and MOUT) maximizing Squad Strengths.
  • Squad/Sierra Coordination was excellent
  • Squad Tactical Awareness and feel of the flow of Action was good.
  • Squad actions on. Swift, Purposeful..
  • Coordinated Fire Support for Tactical Movements was good.
  • Strong Sierra Crew Actions.
Cons:
  • Loss of Mutual Support at times, as a Weapons Squad we have to Breakdown Systems and were left trailing the fight as Platoon moved up.
  • Distance to targets and weather negated support fire engagements at times.
  • Some unfamiliar with 81mm Mortar System Operation.
  • Again as in previous missions lack of a proper Vehicle Load Plan and correct equip reduced Combat Efficiency( incorrect 81's, no stinger, no 240 Ammunition, and LAT)
