The following is a list of courses taught regularly for all the games supported by the 7th Cavalry Regiment as of 02APR21.

All Games:


Basic Combat Training (Boot Camp) [BCT]
Basic Combat Training, also known as Boot Camp, is a part of the 7th Cavalry enlistment process. It is designed to give Enlistee's (now known as Recruits) their first experience with the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment. It is conducted by Drill Instructors of the 7th Cavalry Recruit Training Command. To get started, enlist today!

Upon completion of this course you will:
  • Understand the duties & responsibilities of being a member of the 7th Cavalry Gaming Regiment
  • Receive a Marksmanship Qualification (for Arma 3)
  • Be able to join 7th Cavalry Official Operations
  • Completion of Boot Camp is a MANDATORY step!
Failure to complete Basic Combat Training in a timely manner will result in a discharge.
Server Administration Course [SAC]
The Server Administration Course teaches the correct way to administrate our 7th Cavalry gaming servers and other official assets. This class is open not only to current admins, but also anyone who plans on being a server admin in the future. The course takes about 90 minutes.

Student Prerequisites:
  • Minimum rank of Specialist; PFC allowed as long you hold a SL position
  • Reservists do not need to meet minimum rank; only secondary billets warrant a MILPACS entry

Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy - Phase 1 [NCOA1]
The NCOA Course Phase 1 is the first leadership course non-commissioned officers attend during their career. It's designed to teach troopers, from Private First Class, and Specialists, the fundamentals of leading small groups of Troopers. The course is approximately 2 hours long. The course teaches students the roles and responsibilities of leaders in the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Student Prerequisites:
  • Minimum time in service of 45 days
  • Minimum Rank of Private First Class and above
  • No negative action or restrictions within the last 3 months (pending or on record)
  • Motivation to help advance the 7th Cavalry in many ways
  • Completion of the Server Administration Course [SAC]
Non-Commissioned Officer's Academy - Phase 2 [NCOA2]
The NCOA Course Phase 2 is the second leadership course non-commissioned officers attend during their career. It's designed to teach troopers, from Private First Class to Sergeants, the fundamentals of being a Section leader within the 7th Calvary. The course is approximately 2 hours long. The course teaches students the roles and responsibilities of Section leaders in the 7th Cavalry Regiment.

Student Prerequisites:
  • Minimum time in service of 45 days
  • Minimum Rank of Private First Class and above
  • No negative action or restrictions within the last 3 months (pending or on record)
  • Motivation to help advance the 7th Cavalry in many ways
  • Completion of NCOA Phase I or pre-2019 NCOA
Officer Development School [ODS]
The Officer Development School is for candidates wishing to advance their careers in the Regiment by being commissioned as a Second Lieutenant as Platoon Leader slots become available in 1st Battalion. Officer Development School (ODS) runs over 3 days, each session lasting approximately 1 hour. The following material is covered:

  • Day 3 - Managing Subordinates

Arma 3 Infantry School [IS]:

Basic Trooper Focus:
Basic Individual Training [BIT]
Basic Individual Training is focused on the skills and knowledge required to function as a soldier within a Fire Team and Squad in an operational or training environment. The class is 180 minutes (3 hours) long. There is a short classroom portion, practical instruction, and live fire exercises at the Fire Team level. This course, along with Basic Land Navigation, are prerequisites for all other courses in Arma 3.

Basic Land Navigation [BLN]
Basic Land Navigation is focused on the skills and knowledge required to be able to read a map, use a compass, and determine your location. The class is about 180 minutes (3 hours) long. There is a short classroom portion, followed by practical instruction and a navigation exercise. This course, along with Basic Individual Training, are prerequisites for all other courses in Arma 3.

Troopers will learn:
  • Information on a map
  • Major and minor terrain features
  • Identifying a grid reference on a map
  • Find the elevation of a location
  • Using a compass
  • Determine your location to 100 meter accuracy and plot on a map
  • Navigate from one point to another

Basic Radio Communication Course [BRCC]
BRCC is focused on the basics of sending and receiving radio transmissions and using the ACRE 2 short and long range radios. The class is 150 minutes (2.5 hours) long. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field exercise.

The Advanced Individual Training course is focused on the execution of the hasty squad attack battle drill. The class is 180 minutes (3 hours) long. There is a short classroom portion followed by a walk-through of an attack and then 4 live fire scenarios.

The Combat Lifesaver Course is focused on the role of the Combat Lifesaver in a squad, the basics of the ACE Advanced Medical System, and performing lifesaving care. The class is 120 minutes (2 hours) long. There is a classroom portion followed by practical exercises.

Combat Medic Course [CMC]
The Combat Medic Course is focused on the role of the combat medic acting as the Platoon Medic, advanced features of the Advanced Medical System and performing lifesaving care, stabilizing care and returning troopers to combat. The class is up to 150 minutes (2 1/2 hours) long. There is a classroom portion followed by practice scenarios, and then a final GO-NO-GO written examination.

BMIC is focused on the basics of loading and unloading from the M1126 Stryker ICV and the M2A3 Bradley IFV in base and field conditions, including under fire. The class is 180 minutes (3 hours) long. There is a classroom portion followed by dry walk-throughs and then live deployments.

This is a classroom course — we will not be in game at any time. It will be followed by a separate Flight Evaluation scheduled at instructors discretion.

Arma 3 The Ranger School:
Ranger Selection [SEL]

The RANGER selection process takes place over three training days. Day one will consist of a selection period where soldiers will be required to shoot EXPERT with the M4A1 Carbine on the standard Bootcamp Rifle Range. There will then be a Land Navigation event. If passed, the next two training days will consist of infantry missions at the Fire Team level. Due to time constraints, 16 Missions will be run total, so class size will be set at a maximum of 16 personnel. If there are more than 16 selections after Day One, the top 16 students will be chosen for weeks 2 and 3.

HLL's Basic Infantry Combat Training is focused on learning basic infantry skills and knowledge. The class is 90 minutes long. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field training exercise.

Troopers will learn:
  • Equipment & Weapon Systems
  • Basic Infantry Formations
  • Basic Infantry Tactics w/Armor
  • Basic Communication
  • Phases of the Attack
Student Prerequisites:
  • No active negative action
  • Pen and paper
  • Hell Let Loose installed and working prior to class start time

Combat Lifesaver Course [CLS]
HLL's Combat Lifesaver Course is focused on learning the skills and information required to be an effective Combat Lifesaver. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field training exercise.

Troopers will learn:
  • Basics of the role of a medic
  • Role equipment and responsibility
  • Communications
  • Best practices for reviving and healing wounded
  • Practical exercises
Student Prerequisites:
  • Completion of Basic Infantry Combat Training [BICT]
  • No active negative action
  • Pen and paper
  • Hell Let Loose installed and working prior to class start time

Heavy Weapons Course [HWC]
HLL's s focused on the fundamentals of trooper-employed weapons systems such as GPMG's and Anti-Tank weaponry. The training consists of classroom and live fire exercises. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field training exercise.

Troopers will learn:
  • Best practices with machineguns
  • Proper usage of AT Rifle
  • Proper usage of the Bazooka
Student Prerequisites:
  • Completion of Basic Infantry Combat Training [BICT]
  • No active negative action
  • Pen and paper
  • Hell Let Loose installed and working prior to class start time

Armor Focus:
Basic Armor Crewman Course [BACC]
HLL's Basic Armor Crewman Course is focused on learning basic armor skills and knowledge. The class is 90 minutes (1.5 hours) long. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field training exercise.

Troopers will learn:
  • Roles of the armor crewman
  • Crew Commands
  • React to Contact
  • German tank ID review
Student Prerequisites:
  • No active negative action
  • Pen and paper
  • Hell Let Loose installed and working prior to class start time

Artillery Focus:
Artillery Crewman Course [ACC]
ACC is focused on learning the skills and information required to be an effective Artillery Crewman. The class is 90 minutes long. There is a classroom portion followed by practices and a final field training exercise.

Troopers will learn:
  • Basics of Artillery
  • Crew Roles and Responsibilities
  • Firing Commands
  • Types of Fire Missions
Student Prerequisites:
  • No active negative action
  • Pen and paper
  • Hell Let Loose installed and working prior to class start time
