Given the size and diversity of the Cav, I can imagine there may be some folks who are looking for comradery that also comes in the form of spiritual growth and community with other believers of their faith. Religion and Politics are two big things the Cav says not to engage in conversation about, but I think a Chaplain Corps may be a great addition to the Cav, providing a safe space where discussions can be had, prayer requests can be made, and when the Regimental Motto for emergencies is used (I don't want to type the full name in the case that generates alerts) chaplains can be contacted or offer to console anyone who is asking for them. I see it as a way to provide emotional support to members in ways perhaps they really need and were too afraid to ask, since as far as I can see there is no such group designated in the Cav, and as I said before, conversation of religion is avoided per the rules.
The Chaplain Corps would need representatives of various religions to organize special events, meetings, or services with willing participants. Chaplain Corps events should be posted where anyone who would like to can see and join, and anyone who would rather not see or be invited can simply ignore. I really just think something like this would add to the brotherhood that is 7 Cav, and I see it as an opportunity to do a lot of good for its members.
Just thought I would share this and see what folks had to say. Has this been done before?
