Pro:
  • 9-Lines were decent, a good first step in my practice.
  • Good banter throughout the OP.
  • Got a handful of good strikes off that directly impacted the mission outcomes.
  • Using the drone effectively was a nice step. This is something I don't do in my MOS and was definitely a nice addition to my skill set.
Con:
  • ACRE issues materialized tonight. This made getting strike confirmation, and ISR relayed difficult.
  • Several airframe losses led to CAS being off-station.
  • Point of contention regarding airframe self-defense at the start of the OP.
  • Need more practice with rapid construction and dissemination of CAS calls.

Pro:
  • Op was fun, contact seemed fair overall, not too heavy/light
  • CQB was well received by the squad
  • Overall platoon movement seemed solid
Con:
  • Poor command succession
  • Unsure where CCPs were
  • ACRE issues at end
    • Radios were in inventory on respawn however were unable to be managed via self-interact so were essentially useless
  • Poor IR discipline overall
    • Namely, friendly ND of IR flare on our position near endex when enemy has NVGs. Luckily there were no enemy contacts remaining at that point.

Pro:
  • Great work by the entire squad. Movements, Comms, Mutual Support, it was all great.
  • The mission was very well put together. Plenty to do! The two factions worked very nicely.
  • Contact levels were very well tuned. Everyone got to shoot at something.
Con:
  • A few troopers had issue with night and nvgs being utilized again, reasoning being it is not fun to fight against identifying pixels we can barely see.
  • Platoon was a bit of a mess, exacerbated by ACRE issues
    • Deconfliction with 2 was messy. We learned later that 2 was under strength and consequently hanging near 1 but that was not communicated to 1.
    • Bit of a miskey with 2 after attempting to coordinate a plan at the behest of 6. 2 moved off to 4 instead of taking the agreed upon route. Recommend if SLs are tasked with coordinating we give time in the field for that coordination to occur, preferably not over a radio.
    • Platoon movements were a little rough at times with squads moving into 1's lines of fire.

  • Atlas 1 was very effective and quick when it came to treating casualties.
  • Radio Communcation was clear and concise in the beginning.

Con:
  • Acre issues arise after taking OBJ 1

  • reconsolidation with atlas didn't happen often.
  • Mass Casualties and Black tags
  • Low numbers resulting in roles not being filled or requesting others to fill roles.

Element Callsign: BUFFALO-1

Warrant Officer 1 Bloggins.R

Pros:
  • Excellent mission, Really enjoying these more detailed OPORDS/Briefings. Makes for way better story, playtime, SA and immersion. Well done!
  • Excellent Instraction. (ignore the red line under Instraction, it really is a word in full common usage).
  • Good flying Grizzly. Even though it is risky, it was necessary. And as I always say, the proof is in the performance and as always, Alpha Co. delivers.
  • Quality of piloting is simply outstanding. Excellent work by my highly motivated and energetic Crew Chief Bloggins.R.
  • Skill of infantry in expeditiously entering/exiting the bird is much improved over previous ops. Job well done guys and great job leadership.
Cons:
  • Comms were atrociously horrible. I am only referring to LR comms and specifically about Rotary assets activities, so that's our bad. Buffalo-1 is the flight lead and in the absence of ATC/Pegasus, Buffalo-1 controls the tasking execution of the flight in conjunction and in partnership with requests from 5. Buffalo-1 is the point person for the entire flight, unless the flight lead delegates that task, which is not likely since that is a hugely important job. Buffalo-1 is essentially the quasi-Pegasus for the entire flight, and that is his/her responsibility hence why they call it The Flight Lead. The silver lining here is that it was a learning experience, as 5 was a public player who was able to learn a whole lot about how Cav comms and ops work. [And btw, he was very thankful for our help and his learning experience a may very well be a new recruit soon... hopefully.] Every day is a school day. Despite comms issues, we were extremely grateful he stepped up so we didn't regress back to relying on Infidel as we have in the past, since it's not Infidels job to herd Buffalos.
