Situation:
After the successful assault by A/1-7 and B/1-7 on the town of Arudy and the surrounding terrain, the enemy's heavy artillery capabilities have been severely crippled. Although two guns remained after the assault, doctrinally speaking they have been destroyed. This terrain was vital to the enemy's capabilities of stalling our offensive as shown by their violent counterattack to dislodge us from our early foothold within Arudy which we successfully repelled.
Our successful advance into the heartland of the country has created a bulge within the lines of their defense. This however has overextended our friendly front line and created a vulnerability along the east coast which the enemy will most assuredly want to exploit. Intelligence reports from both SIGINT and local CIs have confirmed the remaining forces along the east coast have set up a defense in depth in order to disrupt and delay 1/7 long enough for their forces to consolidate and conduct a counter-offensive along the coast to cut our forces in half. Time is of the essence.
The battalion has dispatched A/1-7 and B/1-7 to conduct a deliberate attack along the east coast and establish blocking positions N of Le Port in order to disrupt the enemy's ability to consolidate and conduct counter-offensive operations.
