Pro:
Great team to work with
Triage at CCP was excellent
Tons of surgery
Easson got smacked by a crashing helicopter

Con:
First wave of infantry sent in without medical support
Second Atlas would have definitely helped
Atlas perm issues upon reinsert leading to medics losing all perms for the rest of the mission

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Buffalo-1 / Bison-1
Element Leader: Warrant Officer 1 Nate "Justicar" Thumper

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:
Warrant Officer 1 Jeran "Binks" Berg (Buffalo-1 CC)
Warrant Officer 1 Constantine "Lullaby" Wulf (Buffalo-2/Buffalo-1)
Warrant Officer 1 Roy "Houston" Bloggins (Bison-1)
Warrant Officer 1 Leo "Plan-B" Villmarsson.L (Bison-1/Buffalo-2)

Pro:
  • As Buffalo-1, just a standard operation, nothing major that was good or bad, but I had to switch to Bison-1 midway through the Op due to personal concerns.
  • As Bison-1:
    • Killed about a platoon's worth of infantry.
    • Shot down 2x helicopters.
Con:
  • Took way too long on the ground during extract. Maintaining "unit integrity" at Exfil/Endex shouldn't be a concern, we need to get as many people on the aircraft as quickly as possible.
  • Comms with the ground were spotty at best, and abysmal at worst depending on when it occurred.
  • Ran into the glitch where the CP in the IRC laser targets didn't track weapons for the pilot firing.
  • Recommend we go back to using AH-64's when there is only one CAS asset.

Pro:
  • Great squad work.
  • Fireteam leaders were excellent.
  • Communications were good within the squad.
  • Good succession of command work.
  • Security was set well.
  • Medical work was good.
Con:
  • Friendly IDF was not called out as inbound for the initial barrage.
  • Mass Casualties
  • Pickups were not called out with enough time for infantry to maneuver to the PZ correctly in order to prep for pickup.
  • CAS seemed sparse.
  • Red Air really caused problems.
  • Engagement ranges outside of effective range for Misfit infantry.
  • Leadership elements going down and no one knew.

Chief Warrant Officer 3 Liber.N
Private First Class Searle.I

Pro:
  • Enjoyed squad and banter throughout the Op.
Cons:
  • Transport details. Buffalos with duplicated labels at base, wrong call signs, etc. This lead to confusion during all transport phases of the Op.
  • Extremely light on contact. Misfit 2 engaged approximately a squad throughout the entire duration of the Op.
  • Very unsettling use of artillery that was not called out in Op Ord. Several sustained barrages were fired that the infantry was not aware of. Exacerbated the light on contact problem.
  • Asked to carry AT sticks per Op Ord and proceeded to use none of them.
  • Platoon movements where the elements needing to move the furthest are back in the marching order.
  • Took yellow casualties during initial phases of contact (fractures) and had difficulty getting Atlas to treat resulting in reduced squad capability for about 45 mins.

Element Callsign: MISFIT-6
Element Leader:
Sergeant Narramoor.A

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros
  • Excellent work from 5, Infidel. Outstanding work with 7 & Atlas.
  • Excellent work from Squad Leaders demonstrating initiative. Shoutout to Misfit-1 for taking command.
  • Excellent work from Buffalo/Bison flight.
  • Good atmosphere with civilians by the mission makers
Cons
  • Poor communications from myself at times. Need to understand prowords to hold back Buffalos for reinsert (situation led to a mass-cas)
  • Could have leveraged more ISR assets such as UAV
  • Rename LZs to something legible
  • Mountain terrain more suited to mountain infantry as opposed to light infantry
  • Misfit-1 & 2 had poor tasking, light on contact.
  • Insert SBF Squads first along with atlas
  • Should have communicated the inclusion of Steel Rain
