Pro:
Amazing team to work with.
Great echo of orders
quick response to orders
Great Comms with RTO and via to 7
Great to practice land Nav which I was surprised I did alright
Mass Cass handled with top level response from Atlas 2
Resupply Half way was good to get.
Operation Numbers were great
Top notch RTO was really helpful
Platoon was really responseive to masscass by pulling 360's and making a 360 trench to support the atlas team.
We had a member from ACD join us who was new to arma 3 so he slotted in and acted as a bit of a supply mule with MAJ.Burton

Con:
Some people were dieing quite quickly even tho they were being treated
Felt like the IED deteckors were a bit meta
Shame to get a server crash right near the end which did not allow for extract.

Pros:
  • Communications between aircraft were great.
Cons:
  • Lack of understanding of how rotary attack is conducted between FAC.
  • Communication for fires were done like we had modern technology, with no talk on, smokes or landmark references for targeting.
  • The AH-1G doesn't have the same targeting, no camera, as the MH-60DAP and AH-64, with extremely limited zoom, this was apparently not understood, as we were asked to PID targets from the air, rather than having that done from the ground.
  • Opening LZs is not the FACs role, this is supposed to be handled by the "5" element per BN.

Pros:

  • Fun to be had in Vietnam missions
  • Pilots adjusted on the go to some chaotic air to ground communication
  • Control of airframes that aren't trained on
Cons:
  • Despite being told specifically not to touch the front of UH airframes infantry just laughed and dared people to do it. It caused one bird to explode at staging and caused damage to two other airframes. It wastes time and causes confusion.
  • UH frames are extremely weight limited. It constrains the airframes ability to perform.
  • I better understanding of what RW can or can't see with no ability to tally.
  • Responsibilities of FAC vs PSG and who does what

Pros:
  • Squad performed well, Good buddy aid.
  • Good formations and maneuvers all over the squad and at moments in the platoon even though there was dense jungle and canalized terrain.
  • FTL's kept their fire teams together and RTO was always 1 step ahead making my job much easier. FTL and RTO took over the squad when i went down and fought through the contact and brought me to safety which saved my life.
  • Good reaction to IDF and contact by Squad and Platoon.
  • Operation scope and realism in the way it was set up were good.
  • 6 was good at de-conflicting the radio comms when the NET got a bit messy.
Cons:
  • Some members felt that there was too little contact
  • I micromanaged my fire teams at certain moments and I should have given the FTL's more space and freedom cause they are good at it and perform really well.
  • Bunched up and mixed with other squads at objectives and SBF positions, Should have spread/deconflict more.
  • Had a case with some members taking up roles in the squad and not performing the role they slotted and picking whatever kit they fancied. This led to it taking time to establish the squad since the focus was on correcting said case and finding a FTL

Pro:
Great use of Defilade to treat wounded.
Quick response time to mass cass
from start to finish both atlas teams were busy
Great turn out by 7th Cav members from other AO's
Great defensive resupply point
love the feeling of immersion
Very Fun

Con:
Some people were "stable" and just died even after receiving treatment and fluids
way too many IED detectors given
Server Crashed
certain points felt like there was too many chiefs and not enough Indians
Atlas 1 would get flustered, and comms would falter
too many people working on 1 person causing many black tags.
some lone wolfing resulting in casualty

Pro:
Medical attendance was incredible, we filled both Atlas teams quickly
It doesn't get more realistic than that
Whole lot of medical work
Top notch operation and roleplay
Great resupply work
Comms with RTOs were outstanding
Triage well done all around, good to see it being updated and relayed to medics.
Low to none micro manage needed
Fun all around.
Medal deserving medical care for the whole operation.
"I think we found the lost platoon, it's us" - BG.Tharen.R 19FEB2023

Con:
Working with 5 proved to be challenging since information from the platoon wasn't being relayed cause he had he's hands full most of the time. Fixed by staying around the platoon RTO having a mental breakdown cause platoon comms were a mess. Good times.
That trench CCP you couldn't hear your own thoughts.
19 black tags.
"Look a body just laying around, Imma touch it".

Pro:
Huey fun bird to fly
Well designed Op
Enjoy the Vietnam Ops

Con:
Server died
Size of radios and lack of space in inventories makes carrying multiple radio's difficult and hinders communication
Lack of modern equipment on attack aircraft makes tally on targets difficult without smoke, walk on or talk on.
