Specialist Savage.C

Pros:
Excellent mutual security, elements covered each-other very well and autonomously during mass casualty events
Good comms with the infantry elements that were active on comms
Excellent comms with BUFFALO 1, they managed to get a good variety of taskings
Savage was good company and enjoyed cross-training on sierra
Good level of contact from the mission makers, lots of 'insurgent' ambush style positioning from the mission controller, IEDs kept us on our toes.
Excellent and clear planning and leadership from 6.
Excellent turnout. we had 65 people at one point, Perhaps this justifiers moving WFW to 2300Z during the winter months?
Good work from VIKING-7 and ATLAS dispatches despite being undermanned.

Cons:
Some infantry elements were quiet and difficult to reach on the radio. Potential ACRE issues?
High volume of civilian casualties
If HAVOC is a non-standard asset, maybe we should have an integrated EOD in squads for dealing with IEDs?

Non-7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Pros:
  • Good communications with Atlas-1 Alpha and Bravo fireteams with reports of movement, situational reports and platoon movements
  • Splitting ATLAS-1 into Alpha and Bravo team greatly reduced response time
  • Soft-top humvees that were used by ATLAS-1 worked very well by increasing mobility and maneuverability thereby lowering response time
  • Both ATLAS-1 Alpha and Bravo team took good initiative with shadowing/following/checking on friendly units
Cons:
  • Callouts during medical treatments were not made causing some confusion for some
  • Multiple black tags and DOAs. Bleed out times seemed very fast
  • False mass causalities calls
  • Some players struggled with the surgery system. Lack of experience/gaps in knowledge

Chief Warrant Officer 2 Sutodoreh.W

Pro:
  • Fun, interesting mission
  • ISR went well
  • Did my best to help eliminate MANPADs whenever they appeared to target BUFFALO
  • Eliminated some priority vehicles and stationary emplacements

Cons:
  • Civilian air apparently? Confusing to have civilian MI-8s flying over the AO and not be considered hostile, given that 99% of the time those are paradrops in our ops
  • Enough action to be fun but could have been more
  • Comms/tasking felt pretty rusty, not having grids etc. Just needs practice. JTAC is a difficult role to play

Pro:
Good Level of Manpad threat
Excellent Comms with 5
Lots of flying
10/10 OP

Cons:
Bugs: Flir Camera not zooming in
Tail rotor failure not behaving as expected
OP ran a little late but didn't mind

Element Callsign: VIKING-4
Element Leader:

7th Cavalry Personnel Within Element:

Personel (~3):
Rastalion
(various public players floating in and out)

Pro:
  • Good communication within the "Element"
  • Direct communication without working radio comms between squads
  • Good squad separation and Blue-Blue identification (no known friendly-fire incidents between V-4 and any other elements)
  • Operation shows that the training regimen is working and troopers are largely disciplined (overall) and uniformity lends to better cohesion

Con:
  • ACRE deciding that the 152 isn't going to work for my squad at all tonight making communication with other squads and command elements difficult.

Incidents:
  • Airborne Striker

Pro:
  • Excellent leadership at all levels.
  • Good communication at all levels.
  • Smooth transition of command when actual went down & was black-tagged
  • The contact level was well received. It was slow at times, but that was noted as being better than "feeling like we're playing Battlefield."
  • RP was very enjoyed in the squad!
  • Good accountability for AFK players/succession of command.
  • Individual Fireteams did amazing!
  • Platoo stopping to do medical at the get-go when we needed it prevented a lot of wasted resources (bandages/plasma) and allowed us to head into battle fully prepared.

Cons:
  • Civilian casualties/deliberate killings were excessive tonight (noted by multiple people).
  • Arma AI does not lend itself well to interactions with civs when not directly controlled by Zeus.
  • A random player in a Bandit/Misfit Platoon Medic slot led to some confusion. Unsure of the best way to handle this.
  • There was a large stall in momentum for several reasons (running into a large amount of contact/issue with procedure time with Atlas).
  • Two troopers didn't dismount for medical at the very beginning. Unsure why...

Pro:
  • Good initial movement and security after dismount
  • Coordination between fireteams
  • Atypical engagements (IED, suicide bombers, hit and run RPGs)

Con:
  • Should have utilized mobility with the vehicle more
  • When platoon started to take casualties everyone seemed to get bogged down
  • A few complaints on wanting more engagements
  • Security was a bit difficult while we were waiting for continued movement

Pro:
  • Good map choice and diverse AO chosen.
  • Fantastic planning allowed to effective execution.
  • Maintained tempo despite casualties and killzones.
  • A fresh approach to MOUT operation in both mission making and tasking.
  • All troopers enjoyed themselves.
  • Kept on our toes throughout - IEDS, Suicide bombers, Suicide vehicles, Static weapons.
  • Immersion was at an all time high.
Con:
  • Possible invisible IEDs
  • Zues controlled AI combatants long death time.
  • Lack of contact or single combatants hiding in buildings.
  • Reprogram radios option missing.
  • Vehicle spawning needed earlier.
  • Public late joiners taking random slots.
