Pros:
  • LOTS of fun
  • Excellent balance - Zeus did a great job of keeping us busy in a way that didn't interfere with other assets or just involve throwing waves of stuff to kill. Spawned a SAM team here and there to make us evade and hunt, threw a fast vehicle every now and then outside of the AO to force us to actually watch all around, really good work.
  • Performance was really good on our end as well. Killed everything we were asked to kill, didn't hit friendlies, worked well together, evaded the missile strikes. Extremely pleased with how this op went
  • Beiter.A finally got to actually play an op and not Zeus it
Cons:
  • None, this was an operation that absolutely should be emulated and serve as an example.

Pros
Absolutely awesome CQB work in hard clearing
Excellent level of contact presented by the mission maker, making very good use of placement.
Good coordination with 2nd Squad.
Excellent work from Sierra crew and FTLs

Mids
Exceptional mission planning, but perhaps there is a disparity between mission maker and the 6 for pacing. (2 hour window)
In addition, missions should be designed with expected attendance for 2 squads and scaled up.

Cons
Little bit of discombobulation with FTL disconnects
Short Range comms cluttered, element leads (Actual, Alpha, Bravo, Sierra should be the only ones transmitting)
Some instances of elements crossing into incorrect lanes, but we were able to correct these issues

Element Callsign: Viking-6
Element Leader: Sergeant Sam.T

Pros:

  • Excellent push-through contact while in transit to AO. Also appreciate the fact there was some contact along the route instead of a monotonous drive out from the FOB.
  • No black-CAS from OPFOR contact! Excellent work from Viking-7 (good 6-Lines) and Atlas (good deconfliction and coverage).
  • Platoon Net was clear and crisp tonight, with only one instance of "talking-over" induced simply by transmissions starting at the same time. It was incredibly easy to relay information effectively tonight.
  • Excellent communication with Infidel and overall work from air assets tonight! The MBTs were essentially a "non-factor" thanks to their rapid prosecution and location callouts.
  • Convoy Net was utilized effectively, and Sierra's coordination was excellent tonight.
  • Randomized contact in town led to excellent MOUT training! I love seeing 3D environments being utilized by OPFOR to keep us on our toes!
Cons:
  • Troopers talking during redlight. The fact that a Cav Member was actively disregarding the redlight period called by Godfather was disheartening. The fact that it took the trooper being called out by Godfather by name in the side chat is ridiculous.
  • Staging took longer than planned. This had a combination of factors such as longer than expected prep-time in the game, a few folks being AFK during staging, and the Brief starting ~5 minutes late due to the slow influx of element leads.
  • Considering the time period in the OP (~2 hours), 3 towns provided a lot of terrain to cover. With the low turnout for the platoon, clearance of large objectives like Zaros takes considerable time. This is less a commentary on contact level but more on Objective scaling and overall OP timing.

Overall excellent OP. During AARs it sounded like everyone from the trooper level all the way to Godfather enjoyed their experience! Absolute top work from S3 on this one!
