Pros:
  • Very fun op, realistic as well that allowed us to apply our full mission set and capability
  • Excellent leadership up and down the chain. All personnel did an excellent job stepping up and stepping down
  • Perfect level of contact, enough to make us work for it, but not so much that it was a constant onslaught.
  • Excellent usage of PACE from SLs when necessary
  • Quick Reaction to Red Air and establishment of All Arms Air Defense

Cons:
  • Leader's Recon was going all left and right, should have just established a focus on just moving to next ORP
  • Lack of CIVPOP led to CIVPOP deaths and being forgotten about

Pro:
Good comms
Good secruity by Atlas 1
Quick response to orders
Platoon did very well in mission
Even pace throughout OP
Atlas 3 did well in Logi Ops

Con:
2-3 Yellow injures with 1x Red treated in all of Atlas 1 but it is the niche of the role
FF by a Nade Launcher
If Atlas 3 role was to included I think Medical Teams should be brought down into 2 3 man Teams

Definitely forgetting someone, sorry :/

Pros:
Great comms
Great movements
Very clear directions and orders
Squad and Fireteam were in sync and very flexible
Thank you Saintz and others for letting me FTL for today even after such a long time playing - please let me know where I can improve on.

Cons:
Outside of the first major engagement in the forest where leaders recon were taking fire, the firefights felt quite short - A lot of dead russian PKM guys who never really laid down the hate as we did. I don't know if I saw a single RPG-7 tube - only the RPG 26s which are.... ok.

During the last engagement, the armor piece and the BTR that were alive did not seem to care when they were getting shot at - no turret movement, no return fire.

Guys who should come back to the Cav "Hooah?"
Corporal Sky.N

Pros:
  • Leader recon was well done
  • We properly marked maps on C-tab and sent up good SPOTREP
  • Strong, aggressive assault through contact
  • 1st OBJ good assault
  • 1st OBJ comms destroyed
  • 1st and 2nd squad were able to switch on 2nd OBJ as assaulting elements without issue
  • 2nd OBJ comms destroyed
  • 3rd OBJ assault was undeniably sexy
  • 3rd OBJ Comms destroyed
  • One life op and, Nobody died? (close)
  • Genkill vibes
  • Aggressive squad with fast movement
  • Plt movement and motorized movements were much better
  • On point fire teams and FTLs
Cons:
  • Negligent discharge of a mk19 into friendly forces (he owned up to it)
  • Driver/Gunner don't be afraid to switch out with the dismount team for the sake of fun
  • Troopers wished for more contact as it felt too empty or lack of contact (however I think due to how we coordinated and moved with out superior fire power enemy couldnt fight back and were killed before they could win a single fight.

Element Callsign: Bandit-7
Element Leader: Norman.B

Pros:

  • Excellent comms with Atlas units
  • Atlas units were effective in all medical tasks
  • Platoon movement was fluid and effective
Cons:
  • Platoon dispatches were disorganized at the beginning of the mission, although they improved toward the end.
  • The level of contact was such that the operation felt processional, rather than challenging throughout. This led to nearly no serious medical situations for Atlas to respond to.

COMBAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

Element Callsign: Infidel
Element Leader: Corporal Kastor.K

Pros:

  • great Operation, excellent and detailed OPORD, broad and long AO

  • the existence of pre-reconned and predefined 8-grid and 6-grid targets have allowed for immediate tasking of CAP and SEAD missions, as well as quick destruction of a howitzer battery which would've pounded friendly forces.

  • excellent communication with Sutodoreh.W as HOG-1 and VALKYRIE flight lead, good comms with EAGLE-1 and -2

  • incredible kill list for the VALKYRIE flight!
    4x Tunguska
    2x ZSU-23
    1x ZU-23
    1x AA specialist squad
    6x 2S1 self-propelled howitzers
    6x BTR-80
    8x MIG-29
    1x SU-35
    2x MI-8 armed
    2x MI-8 transport
    1x T-50 jet

Cons:
  • poor communication with -6 and -5 on LR20, had to reach to Platoon Net to bring them to 20, then they signed off again - LR 20 should be constantly and responsively monitored by Platoon leadership

  • EAGLE-1 got shot down in a one-life Op by assets barely outside of active AO, which we were not briefed on aside from a general unit marker on map. No fly zones should have been established on OPORD if the external / future Operation areas were actually going to be populated with enemy AI - this has finished the game way too early for the EAGLE-1 pilot. The default assumption is that for optimization reasons such zones will not be populated and active - if they are it needs to be mentioned.

  • no laser designator, FLIR optics and Vector Nite in box Arsenal, only regular Vector, no laser designator batteries either - there are a MUST for INFIDEL!

  • despite INFIDEL and VALKYRIE flight's great efforts to avoid the exclusion target (HOSPITAL), the infantry and enemy crossfire resulted in death of the CIVPOP, their bodies were not retrieved despite presence of bodybags and ATLAS being equipped to do this and later the hospital building itself was intentionally demolished by friendly forces in an absurd breach of stated rules of engagements and Geneva Convention.

Pros:
  • Good comradery within the squad, lead to an enjoyable time by all.
  • Mission was really well done with solid leadership up and down the chain of command.
  • Squad Leaders were able to improvise and adapt to situations allowing for tactical flexibility and helped to minimize casualties
  • Squad Identified and destroyed enemy counter battery radar and destroyed it.
  • Quick reaction and forming platoon line to reinforce 2nd Leaders recon, moved directly into a successive bound attack through a heavy tree line with Bandit 1.
  • No causalities (deaths), no damage to assigned vehicles.
  • Multiple enemy APC's destroyed.
  • Squad performed flawlessly conducting mounted and dismounted motorized operations.
  • Good comms within the squad and on platoon net, allowing the ability to rapidly transmit reports, intentions and coordinate movement with other elements.
Cons:
  • Civilian HVT was KIA while clearing building next to the counter battery radar. Squad attempted to stabilize but lost the patient.
  • Felt contact light during the second half of the operation, however platoons aggressive use of fire and maneuver probably lead to a lot of deaths on the enemy.
  • No radios in starting kit lead to some issues with late joins not having radios when linking up to squad during the operation.

Element Members:

SPC.Sutodoreh.W "Scooter" (HOG 1)

PVT.Dujakovic.R (EAGLE 1-2)

Pros:

  • Excellent communication with INFIDEL. The constant updates about friendly force positions meant that when INFIDEL needed a fire mission ASAP, no time was wasted establishing friendly position or deconflicting.
  • Lots of action -- mission controller kept us very busy. Had a lot of fun dodging SAMs and air-to-air missiles.
  • Got to make good use of GPS bombs which functioned flawlessly
  • Fantastic OPORD, well thought-out, and really good recon -- mission was challenging but we knew what to expect. Zaren.T really knocked this one out of the park.
  • Air assets did not commit any war crimes
Cons:
  • Runway chosen was VERY short -- it worked out luckily, but HOG was clearing the treetops on takeoff by 2-3 feet and had to start takeoff run from the dirt behind the runway. Definitely need to be careful selecting runways so that nothing too short is chosen.
  • some technical difficulties with EAGLE but they managed to overcome them
  • Ground force, somehow, committed multiple war crimes

Pro:
Good comms
Plenty of work starting around the mid-point of the operation.
Lots of help resupplying Vics. It was quite a team effort which was amazing to see!
Had medical/surgical perms, allowing us to help even more than just repairing and resupplying vehicles. This seemingly did not detract from the workflow of Atlas-1/2 nor impact our primary role in the operation.

Con:
Blue on Blue incident
Slow start and slow end, but so is the way of any sustainment-specific role.
Carried surgical equipment and had surgical perms, but we were not needed. Perhaps a bit higher complex fracture chance? (Did get to do some light medical work while Atlas-1 and -2 were otherwise tasked with other units).

Remarks:
Atlas-3 is an excellent role and adds extra gameplay options to operations. I suspect it is not a position many people want to run every OP, such as the Gunslinger, aviation, or medical roles. But for adding some extra slotting to get more troopers with support MOS. Having secondary medical perms was helpful and did not detract from our primary sustainment role.
