PROs:
Squad Comments
  • Everyone had fun, very enjoyable operation, good placement of enemies by Zeus and continuous tempo kept things engaging and exciting
  • Everyone reacted to contact well, and FTLs made good use of fire and manoeuvre tactics
  • Epic tank kill
Platoon Comments
  • OP end on ENDEX (y)
  • Despite disorganised comms, platoon reacted exceptionally to command chain losses
  • Viking did great - was kicking ass
  • Excellent work by Atlas - No black tags
MIXED:
  • The plan was improvised, which made for good tactical decisions but overall intent was hard to follow mid-way through.
  • Terrain was challenging, presented a poor visibility for SBF. The squad responded well to this utilizing suppressing fire and movement appropriately.
  • Resupply took a little long - caused by continuously moving force and changing plan
CONs:
SL comments
  • A little scrappy to start with, I felt that my momentum and competency was variable, with some good moments and some slow moments.
  • I should've utilized and planned with FTLs more - I was micromanaging heavy.
  • I was Hotmiking on platoon net! - Need to sort out ACRE binds.
  • Don't make the AR FTL in any circumstance!
Squad Comments
  • Squad/FTL orders could have been echoed more.
Platoon Comments
  • LRR was clustered - could do with segmenting and planning channels, sometimes the OPORD isn't enough - having channels listed on map should be standard because it's so useful.
IN SUMMARY / LESSONS LEARNT:
  1. SL needs more experience, going to take comments away and work on developing key areas to upskill.
  2. This OP highlighted that improvised and iterative planning is better for WFW, I think flexibility like this suits public server ops.
  3. Include Comms planning as part of briefing. List radio channels on map.
  4. Resupply location and method should be pre-planned if possible. i.e. Airdrop.

Pros:

  • Atlas net comms were terrific. Clear of clutter, appropriate brevity, prompt response.
  • The Atlas Team response time was fantastic. There were occasions Atlas was walking up to me as I was calling with a casualty!
  • The mas-casualty event was handled promptly with no black tags.

Cons:
  • Pulling casualties away from the line of fire should be a priority during casualty events. That was the one action lacking from the mas-casualty response.
  • Platoon net communications were strenuous most of the night. There were multiple occasions where element leaders spoke over one another and inhibited net-wide communication.
  • Relaying casualty locations could have been better on my part. Relying on short grids left much to be desired regarding the prompt arrival of the MMT's.
  • The succession of triage responsibility was lackluster. It was reported that on arrival to calls, the Atlas teams had difficulty locating the patients due to a lack of awareness from the individual team members. The criticality of CLS triage and reporting cannot be understated when speaking of expediting casualty recovery.

PROs:
  • I think the mission was well conceive/designed and generally would have been enjoyable except for the one BIG con below.
CONs:
  • RED AIR was atrocious. Mission makers need to be mindful that they are force multiplier KILLERS and if we don't have sufficient defenses, helos shouldn't even take off. In any modern eventuality, before a conflict, air superiority is of paramount concern. Between AWACS and CAP fighters, it should at least be more balanced. Remember, Red Air in some cases can shoot you down from almost on the map with their weapons ranges. Our helos were sitting ducks and it was a serious buzzkill. Red air is fun when it is BALANCED.

PROs:
  • Great fun had by all squad members.
  • Squad cohesion was on point.
  • Brilliant work all round from squad members. Reaction to contact and spotreps constant.
  • Well planned and designed scenario for operation.
  • Destroyed a lot of infantry and armour contacts. 4x BMD1s, 1xT72.
  • Despite being exposed we remained as an effective element.
  • Good drone work from a public player.
  • Big player turnout.
  • No black casualties.
CONs:
  • Platoon comms became messy at times.
  • Despite being a cracking operation we lost steam for the last 15 minutes and stagnated.
  • I should of looked to of been faster with the succession of platoon command.
  • Preemptive resupply needed for the operation. Having it in place so crates and choppers have ample time to load.
  • Due to the nature of attacking multiple objectives, we could look to have timestamps in place to make sure we are on course and where we should be.
