Pros:
  • Mission accomplished! Successfully defended the firebase against an overwhelming enemy force for ~2 hours.
  • Really enjoyed the defense mission and the consistent enemy mortars (especially at the beginning)
  • Atlas/medics did a great job setting up a CCP and treating casualties; Golf squads also did a great job CASEVAC'ing casualties to the CCP
  • Resupply was scarce and leaders did a great job managing limited supplies as best they could to keep up the defense
Cons:
  • Squad compositions were too big at 12 troopers. For gameplay/logistical reasons, our traditional 9 man squads would be better because we do not have the numbers to support a 50+ man platoon for a private op. 3 squads of ~9 would have been better than 2 squads of 12, etc.
  • Medics (platoon medic + Atlas) were missing a lot of gear/permissions at mission start
  • Not enough guns/troopers to cover the entire firebase
  • Communication with Golf squads could have been better with more contact/SITREP/ACE reports - calls of troops in contact was especially lacking from some squads
  • Lack of qualified rotary pilots/crew led to issues with a vital resupply/re-insert/CAS missions under fire which led to problems (and those that volunteered to take up this role did the best they could)
  • Some troopers went outside the wire and/or went by themselves to lone wolf against the enemy and did not follow orders from their SL's/command

Pros:

  • ZEUS was gracious enough to provide a Cobra airframe to run CAS after it became clear that the rotary crew was too inexperienced with the UH-1's to provide effective reinsert/resupply
  • Had fun despite lack of piloting experience

Cons:

  • Volunteered to fly due to no actual billeted/trained rotary pilots present; inexperience with the airframes proved to be an obstacle. Nonetheless, myself and Hilberg still had fun and made the best of it despite our failed attempts at piloting the Huey.

Pros:

  • Large amount of people had fun
  • Good communication between troopers and their FTLs
  • High stress, low equipment - for those who enjoyed that part
  • Amazing medical care, both use of location as well as triage inside the CCP
  • Amazing personal skill as well as always looking for work and finding it on the edges
  • Stacked bodies
Cons:

  • Some did not enjoy the defense style of the mission
  • Lack of airframe for transport
  • Air assets were limited, AA seemed hungry
  • Ran out of 40mm quickly and had to use enemy equipment
  • Chaos was thick on and off through the whole operations, though this may be in part of no short range radios and period themed RTOs


Overall every single trooper showed great skill in not only team drills, but being creative in their equipment use as well as tactics under heavy fire. I will also like to get this on record of how excited I am to see the excitement we have from our jr. enlisted. I see many up and coming SL/ASL and beyond and it makes me very happy.

Pros:
  • Troopers had fun
  • Loved the CAS, it look really nice seeing that napalm so close
  • Lots of dead VC
  • Good use of artillery, saved us at moments
Cons:
  • Communication could have been better, overall
  • Ammo and supply was lacking, First Sergeant Geki.T did help no doubt but we were running low
  • Need earplugs, deaf most of the mission
  • Bunkers were not that good to shoot out of
  • Great intensity which is a pro, but had moments of boredom
  • Friendly forces going outside the wire, got confused if they were friendly or enemy
  • Spawned in the wrong defense location, had bags of ammo that we had to leave due to going to different location
  • Wished we could have had a counter attack instead of just defense
Overall troopers loved the mission and had fun. Lots of guys to kill and we stacked bodies no doubt. I love the mission myself and just needed the practice at SLing. Need more practice at this and will get better in time. Comms was terrible due to having an only an RTO which I am sure that is how it was in Nam. Thanks for letting me lead this great group of troops.

Pro:
All squads did amazing with bringing injured to the CCP
Atlas 1 did a great job.
Out of whole operation only 1-2 reported Deaths while under medic care.
Great fun following Tharen around
Awesome Mass casualty management by Atlas.
Cons:
Arsenal did not have any of the ace pharmacy equipment and the ace boxes did not have the kit either only base ace stuff
First Aid in squads was very poor it seems to have during Nam/WW2 ops
Sadly No alpha pilots for the Heli
