  • First aid with other units
Cons:
  • Rough start with the bugs and medical permissions
  • People were unclear on what was happening at time especially when coming in later. Had to direct
  • A few black tags as some causalities unreported or reported too late
  • Medical kits were poor with items missing or in bad proportion
  • Radios missing for people coming in later
  • Platoon communications were spotty and unclear at times

COMBAT AFTER-ACTION REPORT

Element Callsigns: GUNSLINGER-1
Element Leaders: Corporal Dio.B / Corporal Crapachi.M

7Cav Personnel within element:

Private Harvey.C
Private First Class Dunn.W
Specialist Cobblestone.G
Corporal Black.A
Corporal Sky.N

Pros:
  • Fun operation with a massive amount of action
  • Decent communication across FT/SQD/PLT
  • Element leader was highly competent in both SL and replacement PL positions
  • Bravo fireteam leader exhibited excellent SA and direction of troops
  • FOB objective blocking action NW made for a realistic but hellish scenario
  • Superb accountability despite all the chaos
  • ATLAS showed great responsiveness in casualty care
Cons:
  • Mission restart just when things were heating up
  • Really missed broader equipment selection, just on an optics front
  • A lot of casualties sustained with massive amount of contact
  • Frequency of casualties resulted in extended downtime despite quality care
  • Should've pulled back off blocking position when it became untenable

Element Callsigns: GUNSLINGER-6
Element Leaders: Corporal Dio.B (originally Gun-1 SL)

7Cav Personnel within element:
Major LaCombe.M ( original Gun-6)

Pros:
  • Communication on Platoon net was coordinated, brief and informative. Alot of parallel communication between squads which was great.
  • Positioning at both objective points were well coordinated by squads - allowed for a wider defensive position at both
  • Contact volume and positioning was reasonable and the mission concept was well carried out
  • Fire commands well executed and acted on by all squads.
Cons:
  • Lost communication with Gun-3, no contingencies used to make contact on both sides.
  • Spent way too much time at first point where Atlas-3 took a very long time to repair vehicles and then left them without fuel as gun-3 was about to move out in them
  • Did not pull back blocking maneuver when position reported untenable. Although the coordination of reinforcing the position and utilizing the CCP behind the line was well carried out - I should have respected the assessment of Gun-1 on that position and pulled back to prevent mounting casualties

Other Personnel Within Element:

Private Spotem - New recruit I believe, unable to find milpac.

Pros:
  • Squad Cohesion was brilliant with good fun had by all.
  • Fantastic execution by squad on movement orders and firing orders.
  • Spotreps allowed entire platoon to understand enemy positions.
  • Good reaction to contact.
  • Good support from CAS.
  • Top notch communication within squad and on Platoon net.
  • For a small ground force we held our own against overwhelming odds in a FOB defence and linking with GUN-3.
Cons:
  • Weapon cook off bugs.
  • Mission restart required
  • Convoy vehicles stopping and slow to advance.
  • Comms issues.
Notes:
  • No barbie access allowed us to step off after 5 mins. Gained an almost 2 hour playing time including the server restart. Much better than the 30mins average roll out time.
