Well that was fast.

Is there a specific Mod Pack which is required for this server or just Prairie Fire?

So I was just in the warfare Wednesday and my buffalo got shot down and then the rescue bird got shot down. Liber who was zeusing insisted he spawned no BMP's with TOWS.

I was shot down behind mountain cover away from any enemies, and the rescue Buffalo was shot down like 500m from the airbase.

My best guess that Liber seemed to confirm was that he has enemy fast-movers in the air. I understand he was trying to provide targets for Eagle. He claimed they were far away from us.

It should be common knowledge that Russian long range anti-air missiles are VERY long range and they can basically lock across the map. The AI also treats helicopters like easy kills, because to jets we are basically stationary and easy and they will target us first even if Eagle is in the air.

I appreciate Liber was trying to provide an enemy for Eagle, but enemy fast-movers are just not ok to spawn with active friendly helos. Arma maps are not big enough for F-18's to engage Mig's far enough away. Helo's just would not operate in heavily contested airspace like that.

Aside from just not spawning them, if it still needs to happen I would suggest zeus straight up warning all air assets that there's an incoming fast mover. It the US was operating somewhere they would certainly have some asset with a radar that would pick it up. Give us a 2 minute warning before spawning it under the guise of "it's been picked up on radar, incoming in 2 minutes" that way the helicopters can quickly land and spool down.

Not sure the extent of the disruption but this disrupted the operation, Buff-2 was in holding waiting for an LZ to drop resupply, we had AT ammo and launchers for the guys on the ground. Not sure how they dealt with it, I was too upset too fly and I also had a Basic Eval to get to.

The warning is an interesting idea. Is this a problem on Liberation too? I know that file spawns a lot of fast movers and usually the 21s and L-39s are easy enough to evade missiles from in a helo, I'm wondering whether something more difficult was spawned during the WFW?
I don't know what was spawned maybe Liber.N can let us know. I would guess it was some kind of Mig as there was a Russian airbase on the map that we warned not to aggravate and we didn't. The enemy we were fighting did not have an airbase.

Not sure if it's an issue in Liberation, I don't play it often enough but we probably would've heard something from some of the TacRealism regulars.

I do think a red-air warning simulating an AWACS or ground radar picking it up would be a good compromise. An AWACS can pick up aircraft at like 400+ miles away and they wouldn't even know they wouldn't even know they'd been locked by it. At the Mig-29's Mach 2 that's about 16 minutes warning at max range.

Had great fun for two hours. In Hue, FPS became FPM for me. They didn't recover in the respawn either

Can we ask for the server settings to be tweaked a bit? Consider:

1. Someone has to log on first. How many times have we heard "I was waiting for someone to get on" after we log on and someone else joins? It is about teamwork and playing together after all, but we have to get the first one on the server. Right now the enemy doesn't scale - I noticed it in the settings when I was looking for something else. So it's really tough to get on and wait for other players - I often get on first and get supplies running and such before switching over and doing some scouting and planning for a bigger unit of shooters to come on.

2. There have to be a small group of folks to have any fun. Right now in any group size of three or smaller you are getting slaughtered quickly. The enemy is spawning on top of, behind and on your position in mass. It is nasty. And hasn't been much fun.

3. Some popular vehicles are missing - the Mk19 SOF Hummer and the MRZR for example aren't something that can be built.

4. Is there a way to concede defeat please? I am not sure but after three weeks of doing alot of work and having the server still on Altis Liberation I'd like to see it roll to something else. It's like Nam, I'm fighting on the same hillside three and four times.

I love the server and most of its settings. It's the only place I really play, but I think we are having a rough time right now with what's on there and it might be time for a touch of adjustment. Not much, just a nudge.

It would be appreciated. I'm on there with Dougan, J Turn Knopsnyder and Thompson and we got hit by like three squads, all with their BMP support, and two helicopters. I enjoy a challenge, but this is just silly at this point. I don't think I can keep the guys on the server to get more in because as soon as we leave the base we are getting just destroyed every single time.

I'm not sure what the problem Is here, whether it's a glitch or has to do a slot locking or whatever but our infantry cannot man the Mini guns- the door guns on the side of the helicopters.This is a major major problem because every infantry soldier can be a door gunner and is expected to be in the Event the need arises. Last night, I commanded several infantry to "man the guns" as I have a billion times, however, they were unable to occupy those seats/slots. This needs to be fixed right away. This is also a problem because it limits the helicopters total troop carrying capacity. Please fix ASAP and thanks!

That must of been lib because I think if your not in a pilot slot it kicks you out and it classes door gunners as crew "pilots" so that may be why it kicks them out of it

Yes.. However happens it needs to be fixed and resolved permanently.

I know im just saying thats prob a reason why and I think is hard coded into the mission file by the OG makers

It is hard coded into the helicopter, they classify the gunner slots as pilots, thus the pilot slot restriction applies to them
