I hope you had a great holiday season, and that your New Year is off to a fantastic start! Last year you joined our Call to Arms fundraising campaign for 2023 and helped us spread the word of Stack Up's mission and programs, and I'm super thankful that you decided to do so. Thanks to streamers like you, we hit our $600k goal for the year! Now it's 2024, and our next C2A campaign for this year is live!
I sent emails out previously, but just in case, please be sure that you've filled out the Rewards Survey for 2023 if you haven't already. This survey is necessary for any rewards earned during the 2023 campaign, but also allows you to give us feedback on your experience so that we can better support our streamers going forward. If you haven't filled out the survey yet, you can go here: https://bit.ly/C2ASurvey. All survey responses are due by January 15th.
Once again, thank you for being part of the Call to Arms for 2023 and making it such an amazing year. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you again in 2024!
I'm sure many of you are thinking, "wait. He's back?". Possibly even worse. I want to just say a few words, before any of you go grabbing pitchforks
Firstly - why did I come back? Was it to go back to 'the top brass'? No. I came back, because I've known some members here for over 10 years now, chatting most evenings, shooting the shit. You know how it is - all of us have those groups. Specifically, I came back 'officially' (i.e. as an enlistment) because of Star Citizen. I'd love to see that game take off here, in some form or another. Coming back 'as a rank', allows me take part a little more.
Why a Colonel? If I'm honest, it's very difficult going from a General to a trooper - you saw behind the curtain, dealing with finances and year-long plans. Many could argue that I should be demoted, shunted down. I'd just point at the years I've spent here, and say 'I think I've earned that collection of pixels'. I've spent enough in Star Citizen to know good pixels when I see them.
Leading IMO? Yeah, but not like it was. I'm not here to run S1, or any other large department. I specifically asked General Chance to appoint me as IMO because it's not S6. But why? If I'm leading S6? Folks - that's exactly why. My mission, is to help guide S6 through the handing over from Captain Sypolt to the new leadership. Ensuring everything is still working, and being the backup when it isn't. I work in tech during the day, and I'm happy to say I built this very forum and networking setup back in 2020. I've run modded arma servers, through to setting up DCS installs in a VM. I'm here, to keep things stable. That's it.
I will help figure out the new S6 1IC, get them running, and probably ride off into the sunset again.
I'm not here to be a General. I'm not here to be your boss. I don't care about what you think about me.
I'm just here to work on computers, and hang out with my friends.
See you around, or not - either way, I hope you have a great 2024.
