Operation Mole Rat II​

Tasking: Air-to-Ground – Long-Range Deployments
Theater: Caucasus

In the spirit of the mole rat, capable of digging tunnel systems that stretch for miles, Operation Mole Rat will be the first in a series of missions focusing on pushing the range limits of each of our support airframes for A2G strikes.

Welcome to Operation Mole Rat II.
The mission remains the same, however the difficulty has risen. And you will dig through it.

Fixed-Wing Tasking

You will employ your longest-range air-to-ground munitions (excluding cruise missiles).
While this is a training mission, F/A-18C and F-16C flights will coordinate to engage and destroy layered enemy ground forces, creating an opening for F-14B and A-10C flights to advance and deliver their payloads.

Loadout Guidelines:

• F/A-18C – AGM-154 JSOW
• F-16C – AGM-154 JSOW
• F-14B – GBU-16
• A-10C – GBU-31

Rotary-Wing Tasking

In support of the Fixed Wing Tasking, Rotary pilots will establish defensive positions across the Area of Operation (AO). These defensive positions are located around Points of Interest that enemy forces are currently racing to capture and occupy.

Logistic Helicopters must supply these zones with:

• Air-to-air defense systems
• Infantry
• Armored units

Attack helicopter flights will:

• Escort logistics aircraft to/from defensive positions
• Clear and secure approach routes
• Defend established positions against enemy attacks

Mission Impact:
Failure to hold defensive positions will directly hinder fixed-wing pilots' ability to complete their strike tasks.
